I have no doubt that Lynn Conway is a vastly more intelligent and educated person than I. Moreover, all my instincts and observations tell me that the number of instances of transgenderism (sic) is on the rise, a phenomenon attributable to genetics, circumstantial influence, shifting gender roles and expectations, evolving social mores and factors I haven't even thought of.
Nevertheless, Conway's frequency numbers as delineated in the second link strike me as preposterous. As we say out here in Texas, that dog won't hunt.

I find her intersting also because I'm an electrical engineer and a patent agent so I've seen a couple of her patents

Oh I agree, Donna. She is. I encountered her site and story some time ago. And as for her quantifying SRS/TG frequency, I want to believe her postulations, cuz I want us gurls to be somewhere closer to mainstream. But realistically, Lynn either wants it too bad, or she's inhaled too much chalk dust.
:p
