View Full Version : COGIATI Test?

Hi, I enjoy doing online personality quizzes and came across the COGIATI test.

Link: http://transsexual.org/cgi-bin/cgitest.exe?

My results showed me as being androgene (sp?), which is pretty much how I view myself - as I feel that I have both male and female sides to myself and enjoy the freedom of coming to terms with and expressing both sides of myself.

I fopund it useful but I'm not taking it too seriously or as being accurate.

Have any of you girls tried this? If so, what did you score?

If not, why not have a go and post your resuls?

Thanks!

Hi

I took it twice in two different moods and came out with two different scores.

It is great fun to try and fool it but I don't think it's much more than a parlor game- and I think it could be dangerous to take the results too seriously. It is fun, though.

Andronge for me. But I feel more like a non-op now. Maybe I should take it again. I feel too female to fit that catagory.

I did it a little while ago and came out with a score of 0. That says it all...

I tried that test some time ago. I just went and took it again - exact same score and result: "190 Which means that you fall within the following category: COGIATI classification FOUR, PROBABLE TRANSSEXUAL."

The test told me what I already knew. It could be a parlor game, but I think it got me right.

"Your COGIATI result value is: -85 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification THREE, ANDROGYNE
What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be essentially androgynous, both male and female at the same time, or possibly neither.
In some cultures in history, you would be considered to be a third sex, independent of the polarities of masculine or feminine. Your gender issues are intrinsic to your construction, and you will most likely find your happiness playing with expressing both genders as you feel like it."

No big surprise here either. However, I find it interesting that it it offered counselling to help deal with any shame and embarrasment:

"1. If you have any comfortability about your gender expression, some slight degree of counseling might well prove helpful. The primary goal would be to make it possible for you to enjoy your gender expressions free from any shame or embarrassment, and to resolve any remaining questions you might have."

I never thought of that. May not be a bad idea, as I still have a little shame and embarrassment.
BUT... I have to tell you girs, (TGs and you wonderfully supportive GGs as well) this site has done wonders for addressing the negative undercurrent (shame) associtated with it. Dressing for pleasure is a compulsion I've had for as long as I can remember. It was always just something I've done.

It wasn't until I found this site that I began to look at it as a feminine side of me... as a part of me, another facet of my personality rather than just something I did. The shame is slowly being replaced by a sense of peace.

So a big hug and "thank you" to all of you!

Cogiati:
Took it about 6 months ago, scored 585 [Class 5 (Classic Transsexual) ].
t is the way I've always felt ... "woman in a man's body". If the test is valid or semi-valid it reinforced what I've always known.

What Gender is Your Brain:
My results: 1% masculine. The best part - 99% feminine.
It is how felt this all my life.

Scored 185, Probable Transsexual.

I'm not surprised.

the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be essentially feminine, but with some masculine or androgynous traits.

So does that explain why I'm sitting here, playing on the computer, waiting for my toenails to dry, wearing capris, drinking red wine and watching the Bengals-Ravens game? ;)

Well took the test, pretty much as i thought probable transexual. I read the rest of the points after the score and it had some good suggestions. I may have to look into this a little further.

360 Probably transsexual - but I knew that already.

I'm baffled by some of the questins though, hearing where a sound came from - is there a study that proves women can/cannot do this better than men?

305 Probable Trans-Sexual. I guess I miss the deffinate from some of the 'girly' questions.

BTW Kristi, that's quite a '****ty' avatar. Do you really feel that way?

I took this same test about six months ago and scored 165; taking it now with, I assume a different mood (+/-) and score a 170. I would have expected to score much higher since being feminine is such a driving part of my life. What does any d*mn test know about who I am anyway?

i do know what it is meant to be, Cogiati test is a waste of time like any other test that is on the internet, ANY gender doctor will tell you so, it is just another online test is all! the only way to discover if you are TS is with alot of counselling and soul searching!, how do i know this cos i have many friends that have transitioned, dont let any online test suck you in

We are who we are and have to discover that on our own. I agree with Kieron. As with any test, it's only as much as you make out of it. I know who and what I am, as I have already "tested" myself, and "passed". Ericka Kay

I have taken this "test" several times over the past 4 or 5 years. And 95% of the time I score in the probable transsexaul area. The other time as somewhere in the middle, not male or female. Even being truely honset with the questions and most of the anawners are set in stone from way back as long as I can remember, I can answner a few of them in differant ways depending on my mood that day, so I am sure that effects the results.

Your COGIATI result value is: 210 Which means that you fall within the following category:

I could invite my friendly squirrels in through the window to take the test... and they will probably be some class 3 TS... its a waste of time, the questions are very weighted...

If your a TS then you know it... no online test is gonna tell you... or confirm it for you...

I scored 268 and got the message: Probably Transexual, seek therapy for genderdysphoria!!!!
I'm not surprised, but on the other hand, I think the test can come out in many ways depending on my state of mind. What is important for me is that I feel more and more at ease and happy with the way I dress, the way I feel and the way I meet the world every day. Changed as a new human being, knowing I have so much more beauty to bring to this sorry world and experiencing a new level of interacting with people of all genders. I don't appear like a grumpy old man anymore, my hair looks great and my clothes just wraps around me in a different softer way. I have never enjoyed a better relationship with my wife of 27 years and our sex life is fantastic. I am happy being Sejd and I don't feel the need for surgically change my original sex. I am blessed living in a gender open city like Olympia WA and can enjoy a sertain openness that would be unthinkable in other places in the Mid West or in the South. I'll take the blessings and also the cautious knowledge that it's not a given. I spent most of my life completely unsure about myself as a man and constantly running into my own walls and limitations. Men have given me much love over the years, and I cherish the company of men as well of that of women, I honor the veterans and the fathers and workers, knowing from my own life what they have been going through. It makes me a better woman ( for as much woman I will ever become). I don't think that gender test really mean anything, but it can be very affirming to know that we are in a way on the right path, in the right place with our sexuality. Thanks for bringing this thread.
Hugs

I like stuffed animals (own a few) and am do not eat animals. I like kids and am emotional, tear up watching movies and TV.

I will trust my feelings first, if lacking facts to base a decision on logic. But will weigh both.
I am good with maps (but have to turn them in the correct directions), but will get lost without landmarks and will usually guess the wrong direction. I do not navigate by street names but landmarks, like a woman.

I am an artist but can do just about anything; it is commonly called a renaissance man.

I am not good at arithmetic but am good at algebra and Calculus.
These traits are female (they ask about math I say not good at it) and put big marks on these tests toward the female side.

I generally score about half way on all of these, usually a little toward female.

What is found is that those that can bridge the two half’s of the brain can solve problems more efficiently. I see it as diverse and using both sides of my brain. Females are better at bridging the two half’s of the brain then men.

The more serous tests are OK, some are written by professionals.

The simple Gender test at sparknotes.com is a perfect example. They base their “results” on how people answered the questions in the past. The majority of females will answer certain types of questions different then males. I have always been a Girl on their test.

If one was so “politically incorrect” inclined one could make a tests that would probably 90% predict someones ethnic background, where they were raised, education level etc.

So what is the point. None except for the fun of it.

Hi Girls...I have rescently taken the Cogiati test and recieved a score of 270. I believe that the higher the score the more masculine you are rated. Anyway...the 270 score says that I am a probable transexual...late onset, what ever that means??? All I know is that I often wish I could just wake up some morning and have this all over with...my desire to be female is becoming more and more powerful...

Kirsti:

I have taken the test, as well as many others. They all tell me that I am female.
Yet, I am a male who is mostly attracted to females and moderately attracted to males.

It is not the results of a test that tell you who you are. You have to figure this out for yourself. Some of us will test totally female yet we are attracted to both females and males. All I can say is that you should follow your true feelings rather than listen to the results of a test.

Always is androgene also. It is a long test so one needs the time.

Then again if you think too much on the questions you will not get your gut answer.

May take it again and see if anyting has changed.
