Yesterday was the day I got paid from work. I had expected to be able to set back a little spending money, after getting my Christmas shopping done early. I wanted to be able to sneak in to Victoria's Secret and "buy a gift for my girlfriend", (the cotton racerback and a couple pair of panties), but after I got my bills taken care of, I was heartbroken. After paying all my bills, I only had about $30 left to last me two weeks for food, gas, and so on.

Has anyone else been met by this ugly beast recently? It seems to be hovering over me a lot lately. :(

That is the reason you ask if you can open an Angle Card, at VS.Then you can pay it off in 30 days...BJ

That would be nice if I could realistically pay it off in 30 days.

I need (read: want) a couple new bras anyhow. I put my blue Vassarette underwire on for the first time in a few months. I never realized how uncomfortable that it is, but it just doesn't compare to my $7 Lilly of France! :) I'm also getting bored with my Playtex bra.

Aside from the VS Cotton Racerback, what do you gals recommend? I'm a small frame (34A, really) with little "material" to work with. I just want something comfortable, affordable, and good looking.

Currently being on the slim side of employment I haven't been shopping for about a month. And I've curtailed my evenings out to about once a week. Yea I could hit the bank account and go shopping or clubbing but I figure that with limited income coming in for probably another week or so, I should be a bit frugal. I'm more concerned that my kids have a nice xmas then myself having a new outfit or partying.

I've lived most of my adult life with that beast. I hover right around the government's listed "poverty line" for income, never been able to get much above it, for a long time I was in the "maximum earned income credit" tax bracket, between 10,000 and 16,000 earned income per year. I broke 20 grand for the second time last year, both the wife and myself together. So, yes, I've met that beast, he lives under my bed.

Hello,
In my opinion Victoria's Secret is one of the best makers of lingerie, however as good as their merchandise is, it is some what over priced. There are other options out there that are more affordable to help stretch out your money. Many of the department stores carry items like Victoria's Secret with the same quality at a more reasonable price.

Well Trina, you could move up here to Edmonton where we are experience a real boom in the province with more jobs available than there are people to fill them. Lots of oppertunity. Now all you need to do is be pepared to survive the -30 C weather, 3 feet of snow and your set. Our summer consist's of 4 months of bad snowmobiling but what the heck, it's nothing a pair of panyhose under the jeans and turtleneck sweaters can't fix......

In reality, i think most of us have been down that road to some extent. I pay the bills and spend my left over money on the basics (is beer a staple?) and if there is more money than month, i spend it on the kids and grandkids.
