View Full Version : Proper planning is the key!!

Have a business trip coming up (3 nights) and of coarse Karren is coming too…..along with 20+ co-workers!! So I have started planning what to take, how to get it there, and how to go out of the hotel enfemme each night for some exploring and shopping.

I’ve already a hotel room with high-speed internet access (a must for IM and uploading photos, maybe web caming), just don’t know where my room is in relationship to the coworkers and the exits so have to play that by ear… Have signed out the company vehicle so Karren will have transportation in the evenings, though I will have 3 or 4 riders on the trip down. I plan to take my largish medium suitcase with only one change of male clothing other than what I’m wearing down and also have my underground gear bag which always has room for some fem things.

The problem lies in that I want to take everything (when I travel solo I do take it all!!!) and I know that I have to limit myself to one set of lingerie (ok maybe 2), nylons, breast forms and inserts, 2 maybe 3 wigs, hair care products, 3 skirts, 3 tops, 2 dresses, my fem sleep ware, makeup kit, fem winter jacket, winter scarf, gloves and hat…. new boots, a pair of flat casual shoes, couple pair of heels, purse or purses, jewelry, nails……….see the dilemma? All this in a standard suitcase with a few guy things and my kit bag. Sounds almost impossible…but I’ve done it before. Doubt I will be able to fit in my leather skirt and jacket…..Grrrrrrrr.

I have had coworkers comment about my luggage before since most have small duffle bags…lol I just told them that I don’t travel light and I come prepared for anything (little do they know what anything encompasses) The airlines love me since I’m always going over the 50 pounds per bag limit - $$$$….. So we plan to drive down, leaving from work in the afternoon and since some of my things are stored at different locations, it that calls for some scheduling to have all the pieces at the right location just before we depart. I’d hate to get down there and find out I left my forms and/or heels at home!!! “Who’s that flat-chested, bare-footed old broad anyway?” hehehe

All that and I was planning on going out enfemme Friday……OK..this is what I have to complete in the next few days in order to be able to enjoy my fem evenings. After crawling around underground and getting very dirty all day, nothings better than getting all gussied up and going out for some enfemme shopping, dinner or maybe a movie!!!

Just thought I’d let you know how I do what I do….and although it’s a lot of work before hand…it is sooooo worth it!!!

<mental note – need to think of new excuses for getting out of any planned group activities…..stomach hurts (used too much)….visit long lost school chum (too much - very large graduating class of 4)….have to dress up like a girl (haven’t tried the truth yet) > Good ideas anyone??

This sounds like a great idea to me, giggle.
"Karren's going out shopping, see you later, boys."

Of course, be prepared for an early retirement.

Wow!!!, sounds like you've really got all that planned out, sounds like a ton of stuff, I do agree howere that a girl should be prepared for everything , but I dont think being over prepared is a good thing just means to me packing excessive junk, I guess Im all about packing lite, 2 skirts and my purse , and it all has to fit in my small overnite bag , I'm good to go.....but there again I guess you just never know what you'll need......

Tell them you have been crawling around all day, your dirty and all you want to do is take a bath, sit back and watch porno's on the hotel TV network.

Wow, Karren! I really appreciated reading how you plan and what you have to do to go out under the circumstances. I have done this a few times too, and the large-sized luggage and excuses for not participating in group activities are two of my most difficult stumbling blocks. The luggage issue, since I usually travel by car, is not too bad. I just have to accept the comments good naturedly and laugh it off. The excuses are something else again. I, too, have used the stomach ache and "old friend from HS" or distant relative too many times. Another one that I've tried, but only once, worked well: I said that one of my hobbies is sketching interesting places that I visit, and I continued with the points that it really takes concentration (i.e., no company) and it takes time. It worked just fine, although one of my co-workers wanted to see my sketches. I answered that with the comment that I would show them after I get a collection together and have time to clean up the details in them. I think that odd hobbies or odd angles on common hobbies can provide fruitful excuses: let's say your hobby is coin collecting [or stamps, or tea cups, or Broadway show posters, or marbles, or rare books, or miner's lamps, etc.]--there can always be this very out of the way place that you've heard of that has an amazing array of coins, stamps, cups, etc. for sale, but it's very hard to find and the owner does it as a side-light and is open only in the evening.
These are just some thoughts. Good luck on your trip.

I was gonna say, whenever I used to go on biz trips with others, they always wanted to "go out on the town" together. I always went along to be part of the "team". I wouldn't have been able to think up an excuse they would buy.
On one of those trips, I did take a slip, panties and PH for those few private moments in the hotel room. The CD desire is really insatiable!
What would the boss say if he knew you were driving around in the company car en femme?

Karren,

WOW!!! Sounds like you're planning to take more fem items on your trip than some girls even own! You sure you don't need the pick-up truck with club cab and long bed to take all your things????

Sounds like you've got some wonderful times planned for yourself. Enjoy!!!

Sounds like you are ready for some fun. Maybe a photo op.

For an excuse how about "It has been a long day. I am just going to order some room service and chill out for the night."

Or "Anyone want to come by my room and we can play dress up."

Well, after being stuck underground with these guys all day, 3 days....I don't need to hang with them at night....no political stuff going on....and I've been driving company vehicles enfemme for some time......plus crossdressing on an expense account is just one of those unwritten fringe benifits......really really fringish...lol

Karren,

In an ideal world you could _go_ as Karren. Or at least bring everything. I always wish I could dress en femme more. So I sympathise. And you know I'd vote for you as the first woman President -you are the best- but am I going overboard in suggesting MAYBE packing less?

Like -HORRORS- only one femme outfit?

My idea is frightening, but it has three advantages:

1) you don't want the size of your suitcase distracting your coworkers from your skill at your job-the goal is a raise so you can afford more clothes for Karren!

2) save on over the limit airplane baggage charges

3) your excitement when you get back from trip and have ALL your stuff will be something to look forward to!!!

Maybe pack less on this trip as an experiment and see how it goes?

On the other hand, I like Chiana's idea of inviting the coworkers over to play dress-up. :D

Whatever you decide, best of luck.

Hi Karren,

I'm on an extended business trip (20 days) in the DC area. Of course I had to fly in from Oklahoma. So - 2 bags:49# and 44#. I've stayed at this motel before along with my 20 coworkers on the trip, but I ask for the room directly across from the elevator and just around a corner from a stairwell that leads down to a side entrance to the motel; most people use the main entrance. I too have passed coworkers in the lot and lobby with nary a glance.

I guess I pack a little heavy also.

1 dress
2 skirts
1 slacks
3 jeans
4 belts
8 tops
2 cami's
2 shells
3 sweaters
woman's coat
scarf, hat, and 2 pair gloves.
1 pr boots
1 pr heels
2 pr flats
1 pr tennis shoes
2 purses (in addition to the one I carry in male mode)
assorted socks, hose, lingerie
2 pr breastforms
2 wigs
makeup

For my male side, 4 shirts, 2 slacks (one is actually women's slacks), loafers and leather jacket.

As for excuses, I use those you mentioned and of course "Oh man, I forgot all about that." "My wife called and I was on the phone for quite a bit straightening out some home finances." I've been thinking about using "Well you won't believe it, but I'm going on a casting call for a small local film company."

I love coming to DC, so many shopping opportunities. I've been here 3 days and have been out enfemme all 3 days. I got into town, checked in and the first thing is to "dress" and shop for the necessities needed for my stay. Food and drink for the kitchenette and some hygiene products.

Tomorrow evening I hit the mall!

Love to travel; love to shop; and a rental car paid for by the company. Woot!

Karren,

Maybe you could tell them your back hurts from lugging around the big suitcase and need to rest.

I do tend to agree that maybe, just maybe it might, could, sorta be a good idea to pack less...there, I said it.

Karen hon, you're my idol! I'm doing the same thing this weekend...travelling to Tucson for a conference with a couple hundred of my closest freinds. I admire your plan to get out ... especially staying in the same hotel. I would be scared silly of meeting someone I knew in the hotel hallway or lobby. So I'm staying a few days extra and going to LA for some quality Jen time.

BTW, any advice on flying to USA from Canada (I'm checking my femme clothes). Will I have have any issues as a non citizen while getting dressed in the US?

Good luck hon!

Great ideas and I have toyed with going as Karren but that would be carrier ending I fear....as far as #1) I make way too much money now....lol, the wife would just spend any additional...2) were driving this time and 3) going on my trip with all my stuff is what i look forward too the most....

I know that you are great at planning and passing friends in a parking lot, but what happens, as it surely will, when you are discovered. Have you thought about what to say? Even though looking good it can happen. It happened to me decades ago when trying to live as Janice, my landlady made me. I was ready with an explanation about Christine Jorgensen, the Korean War veteran who underwent SRS. I told her the truth about the need to see if I was also TS. By a miracle, she was sympathetic.

You are very bold as Karren, but would you care if every one knew that you crossdressed? It probably will happen. Just be prepared.

Don't worry girls. Karren is a genius when it comes to this stuff. She also has a sliding "what if" scenerio in case things don't work out to a gnat's ass. I really admire her planning abilities and her mind is always working. She could probably be a spy or international jewel thief and make out just as well. It's nice to know she chose this "vocation" instead. It makes me proud to know we have such a dedicated person in our "camp" and she is proof that anything is really possible if you want it to happen. Here's to you Karr, may your trip go well as always:love: Ericka Kay

Tow a small moving trailer. Maybe you could get all your stuff in it. If you can't, it becomes and excellent reason to buy more. Say you are taking to your aunt. Then if push comes to shove, you could always change in it(weather permitting).
If all else fails, lie through your teeth; I never lie through my theeth because I take them out before any prevarication.:heehee:

You could say that you've got such large luggage because you plan on buying some souvenirs. Then you have an excuse to go out at night (to buy those souvenirs).
If someone asks if they could go shopping with you, you can tell them that you like to shop alone. No one would question that a man likes to shop alone.

Anyway, just brainstorming.

Good luck.

Karren,

I wasn't seriously suggesting you go as Karren, I was saying that I sympathise with the fact that you can't.

Under the circumstances _I_ would try to fit in and pack less. But that's me. I guess I'm just scared for you. :hugs: Don't want your coworkers finding out and bad things happening as a result!

But I respect your decision to pack more and admire your courage.
