I did the Mall thing!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I am in Detroit for work and decided to go out dressed. I didn't have the guts to walk in any stores but I DID walk the mall and not a single person looked twice at me! I walked by several groups of young girls (the group most likely to peg us) and not one of them looked surprised or shocked.
Now maybe everyone was being kind or PC (something I don't think Detroit is known for) or I passed! Awesome confidence booster!
Sigh . . .wow I wish I were female sometimes . . .

I did the mall thing this past weekend in atlanta too. I know I didn't pass though. 6'5" with a full lenght fur coat, no way I passed but I had fun. Even got four cookies and a tiny ginger bread cake to take bake to the room for my wife. The macy's in lennox mall is so big I had to get help to find my way back to the right parking lot. I know you had a blast cause I had one too!!

Congrats on the mall walk. It is a great feeling isn't it! Next time, interact with people, it will take the experience to a whole new level. Do you have a femme voice?

Concerning passing, the best explanation I have heard (from Micheletv) is that, if you present well, as you appear to in you avatar, most people will take you for a GG (Genetic Girl). Some of the more curious people that look closer will take you for a transsexual. Either way, you should be able to move around comfortably.

As Jesse said, post some full size pics in the picture gallery. We'd love to see them.

Congrads on your mall outing. I have not done the mall thing yet, but will. This morning I was wearing a green skirt and red long sleve pull over sweater blouse, took the trash out, then walked up the ally to the front, put the mail in the box and as I was walking back down the ally a car came down the ally. The driver, a man, had to pull a little over to pass me. I looked at him and he smiled and nodded. I smiled back. He did not stop and went onto the street and on his way. Guess I passed, which made me feel real good.

Wow you look stunning and you deserve to enjoy your mall trip. I am still plucking up courage to do something similar. I saw a CD when I was out shopping. Nobody else noticed her, but I guess we are sensitive to the little signs. She was just browsing womens clothes and looked so comfortable. I was in drab and trying to do the same but feeling very awkard.
