How many here mimic women as closely as possible as opposed to dressing in what they think women would wear or simply what they think is cute.

Tough question Megan. I don't dress to "mimic" anyone really. When I'm Ericka, how I dress just reflects how I feel inside. It's an open demonstration of how I feel as Ericka. To me, it's simply a statement of who I am rather than what I'm trying to look like. In all honesty, there is no one else like me(take that for what it's worth) and, well being an individual, I have my own tastes, likes and dislikes. The bottom line is when I'm Ericka, I don't try to "look" like anyone but myself. As far as fashion trends, I'm not into that. Who I am as a person is more important to me than the latest style. Sometimes though it is nice to try a new look. Ericka Kay

Hi Megan, I try to dress like any GG would do at any point in the day, although a little more dressy: smart casul through the day and something a little more glam at night. I do my make up to suit. Although this stems from not wanting to look out of place if I get seen, ultimatley and in answer to your question, I dress to 'be' a women. I should say however that I have several very short dresses in leather and pvc that not many woman would consider appropriate at any time!

I dont try to mimic at all, but in my none mimicree I seem to be mimicing more so (ie. I tend to stay away from dresses... that's because I have ugly legs but that's besides the point lol)I personally think that when I glam up, I look like a guy in make up and I'm fine with that.

If I tried to mimic women then the only clothes I would wear would be blue jeans, flats or sneakers and tee shirts. I spent yesterday afternoon walking around the mall really just looking at the women and this was the 'official' outfit. I much prefer skirts and dresses so I guess my dressing must be for me.

Just letting the inner Me be seen. What would I wear if the Gender Fairy stopped by and I were magically transformed?:D Not mimmicking someone else but expressing Myself.

I dress to feel pretty. Sometimes it doesn't take much to feel pretty. Sometimes it takes everything to feel pretty and I still don't. Since my perception of pretty is a woman, I suppose I look like one but it is not my intention. But in the end, I suppose it is emulation.

I dress to look and feel feminine. I don't mimic anyone. I go with my "feelings" and dress to that end. Sometimes I'm feeling sassy, other times I'm not...but certainly I don't mimic any one.:D

Wearing femme gear to me is just comfortable and relaxing. I don't try to mimic female attitudes or behaviour even when I do the whole thing with wig and makeup. Basically, I just love wearing camis, skirts and heels as opposed to shirts and trousers.
As I said previously on this forum, wearing femme gear is not a gender issue. As far as I'm concerned the clothes I wear are mine.

I agree with Deanna2, just cause the cloths I buy are from the womans section doesn't mean I'm trying to be anyone other then me.

I want to mimic. Decades ago and 85 pounds ago I would have no problem as Janice anywhere. Those days are gone unless I get back to 138.

I agree with Suzy. I wear something feminine everyday, just some days more than others. Some days it is only panties but other times it is lingerie to hair and make. On those days I rememebr the song "I Enjoy Being a Girl". Today I plan to go shopping in all fem clothing. Lingerie, sweater, slacks , and shoes. No makeup, just a guy in feminine clothing that feels good.

I wear what I like and I do mimic other Ladies from time to time. I might see a new style or a top that looks good on a female and I have to have it.

My dressing fits my mood and where I am going, I go out to the clubs I dress a alot wilder, minis more make up, grocery store/ mall jeans, flats, little makeup, I dress to blend. The better question is do I dress my age to that, NO

I saw a GG in the mall a few weeks ago wearing a cropped denim jacket with rhinestones. It was just so feminine, I went and bought one for me. There's nothing wrong with seeing someone in such a cute outfit, and then trying to find something similar.

If we really tried to look like today's women, we'd all be wearing slacks/jeans and flats. I like to be a bit showey in a skirt or dress and I always do up in everything to look and feel the part of me that's been hidden away.

Tina wants to learn, not mimic. When en femme Tina wants to understand how to be, as naturally as possible, a woman. That means dress, makeup, etc., of course, but also mannerisms, actions, voice, and all the rest. Given that, everyone has moods, so sometimes it's age appropriate, and sometimes just fun. Isn't that what exploration is about?

If we go out in public we all try to mimic a woman, but I only minic to the point that I want to blend in. Otherwise the outfits I wear are my own style and not that of the current style.

I'll combine what Joanne and Tina have said above to reflect my view. It's about the exprience and the vision of your own choice of style.

Please understand that I am a senior citizen. When I dress, I try to be as feminine as possible including the clothes that I wear, the makeup that I use and my walk & mannerisms. However, this is done in terms of how a senior perceives a woman to be which is much different than the perception that most of you younger CD girls would have. For instance, I love full slips, open bottom girdles and garter stockings which are perhaps a memory of the 1950's. When I am completely dressed I just feel like a woman, and I try to be as sexy a senior as possible, hence, the short skirts, high heel pumps and tight sweaters. Somewhat out of fashion, but I still see some senior GG's with a similar look which I like to see. In some respects, I suppose that I am a mimic, but in other respects I am just being feminine me because it makes me feel good.

I don't dress to "mimic" but I do dress to be as feminine as I possibly can--there is a difference.

:be: I constantly study what the ggs are wearing and see the differing styles. I want my own style and not just mimic. I like to try to be stylish following trends but making it fit me, my personality and tastes. It's a whole lot of fun!!

I dress to please me, and it pleases me to "mimic" or dress as much like a woman as I can. Some times I dress as a much younger Woman than I should. LOL Oh well what can ya do.

In all occasions, I try to dress like a GG, my age and size would do in that occasion.
I want to blend in as much as possible (but not as far as wearing pants :heehee: ) For that, I follow the advice of two GG friends who have helped me a lot getting closer to a "modern woman" look. I was using an old stereotyped image of a woman probably inherited from my mother's style... I also observe how modern GGs dress in the streets or at parties, I mean when they wear skirts or dresses...
Even when I dress for fantazy such as the "French Maid", I try to look like a real "French Maid", not using one of those cute and sexy "French Maid" outfits but which are so unrealistic...
Likewise, when I want to dress for a "sexy show", I try to imitate what a GG in love with her husband may want to do to please him
That last option is a very rare one for me...
So for me it is indeed looking like a real woman that drives my X-dressing.

I don't know that I would call it "mimicking" a woman but when I do go out as Samantha, I try to present a complete female image. I try to make sure all the little details are correct; hair, makeup, jewlery, etc., so it all comes together perfectly. After a lot of practice, I think I've got it down. A former SO (GG) and I had a "contest" where we both wore black skirt suits, heels and makeup. She admitted (grudgingly) that I actually pulled the "look" off better than she did.
I know the whole debate about is "passing" truly important and I'd have to say it's really not; you should do this for your own happiness only. That said, I'm Super lucky 'cause I seem to "pass" almost all the time, due to my body type, facial features and I hope, my hard work to appear as an attractive woman. I've noticed that people (both men and women) seem to appreciate and look at a woman who is well-dressed and well "put together". That's all I'm really trying to achieve.:2c:

Lately I have been attempting, without much success, to minic Britany! Getting in out out of cars in club outfits without panties can be tricky business. But alas, there are no paparazzi there to take pics....so I am safe!
Seriously, I dress to fit my mood. Sometimes this can include appropriate attire with an attempt to fit in, but usually not. You have a right to dress the way you feel like in a free society.....but you should practice running in heels! lol!
Have fun out there!

"Mimic" is the wrong word to describe what I do.
I do observe women, to learn and get ideas (dressing and makeup and such).
When I dress, I dress for myself. Whne en femme, I move femininely. I gesture femininely. I am being a feminine. The movements, actions, etc. feel natural to me/my style.
Mimimc, to me, means being artificial. What I am doing is tapping into my naturally feminine side. (I do need help which is why I observe women, but then I decide if it would apply to me.)
Does that make any sense?
