What's the most enexpensive thing you bought for your female side at The Thrift Store? I was there this morning and bought a very pretty dress for only 3 bucks. Couldnt believe the price. What do you ladies like to buy when shopping there?

Oh boy this is my question! I have the greatest thrift store just four blocks away. I would say 75-80 percent of what I have was bought there. I have paid as lilttle as 80cents (99cents with 20% off) for nice panties and as high as 12.99 for a wonderful silk bridal-like night gown. I buy only lingere so my knowledge is limited to that. Other things, bras 5-7bucks, slips 4-9bucks, waist cinchers 6bucks etc. Attached is a pic of me dressed all in thrift store stuff (less boobs and wig)!

Certainly got my baseline met at the Portland ME Goodwill. Skirts averaged $5. Now I'm in the Palo Alto area (CA) and, alas, the Goodwills here are upscale - items start at $10.

Nevertheless, I consider thrifts to be the best bet - especially for beginners (who will have to toss most of the original choices anyway). Just gotta be real careful about stains and zippers.

Most expensive thing I ever bought at a thrift store was a long blue wool coat, Pierre Cardin, never used, for $19.

Yesterday I bought a brand new pair of Old Navy jeans from the thrift store for $2...

They are a little on the tight side, not uncomfortable, but thats what Samantha loves :D

You know… a female bike so you can ride it with a skirt on...complete with front basket and horn...25 bucks! Riding with your skirt blowing in the breeze, priceless!

Have fun out there!

Many years ago a full school uniform for a local Convent School including PE kit, brown cotton knickers (briefs) etc. Fitted beautifully. In those days I cost me £30 Uk that would equate to £100 now. Well worth it!

99% of my wardrobe has been purchased from thrift stores. Did you know that goodwill is the outlet for Target clothes and things they don't sell in their stores. If you see the same shoe for example, in different sizes, you know one person would not have donated them or at least very unlikely.
Also there are many times we have purchased clothes and other items with the tags still attached to them. Watch for their sienor days and special days and you will be very surprised at the bargans that are out there.

Thrift stores are where I've gotten about 90% of all my clothes. Most of what I get there are between $2.95 and $5.95 (mostly tops and skirts). I love the thrill of finding the next item that I can't live without there.

I buy a lot of my Femme clothes at the thrift sores. As cheap as 6 for a buck to $20.00 for a Corset. I buy a lot of Dresses, Skirts and Blouses or tops there. Underwear I buy at other places. Walmart ect.

My best thrift store deal was a brand new with tags Ann Taylor suit size 2 for $7. These types of suits usually cost $250! Next I got lucky with schoolgirl uniforms.

Sierra,

I think your Value Villqage is the Canadian affiliate to my Savers here in California. Is the place neat as a pin with all items grouped in colors? All this talk of Thrifting I might have to go tonight. Tomorrow for sure! wink

A nice black leather jacket for $4. I wear it all the time. Also a black wool dress coat for $15. All in time for winter.
