..ok, I've already shaved the inside of my arms. I havent dared touch the outside because I'm quite fair (though I'm not white) and I think my hairless arms will be very easily noticed by my daily colleagues who sit quite close to me. The only option is to wear full sleeves sweatshirts everday. I'm a programmer in California so wearing proper shirts doesnt fit in either. What did you girls do, or what would you do, in this situation?

Thanks
Sonal

I have a similar problem. I don't shave them. Instead of that, I cut hair with Remington groomer. There is still enough hair left on the arm that people around me don't get suspicious, but far less than before.

Hm, in doubt I'd just shave and give it a try, they grow back.
Shaving is not a big deal anymore and Californian-Programmers-not-prone-to-Shirts doesn't sound very redneckish.

I do exactly what you said, wear long sleeves year round.I'm not affected by temperature extremes one way or the other and where I work is hot in the Summer with a lot of steam. I shave my entire body every other day. I'm not afraid per se to accept someone's "challenge"as to why I'm hairless, it's just easier to avoid it altogether. Occassionally, someone asks me why. I just tell them I don't want to be exposed to the chemicals we work with. That answer seems to satisfy them.I just don't see the need to provoke someone unnecessarily That's all. Ericka Kay

I've been shaving my arms for about a year, and have yet to have anyone make a comment. I tend to get warm easily, so I wear t-shirts usually outside of work, and dress shirts with the sleeves rolled up when at the office.

Lots of guys have little or no arm hair...I'm willing to bet that most people aren't observant enough to notice that all of a sudden you have a lot less arm hair.

I shave my arms and I had never any comments, except from my SO when she discovered that I was doing it. We sleep in separate bedrooms hence the reason she had not noticed before... She was very crossed at me, but since then she seeems to have integrated that I do it...

The only time when I'm a bit ill at ease is when my hair starts to grow enough that it becomes again visible, and that indeed is a give away of epilation. No hair can be a natural condition, as for example in some ethnic groups who don't have hair on their arms or torso. Hvins jeu a bit of hair shows that you have been shaving, a more tel telling behavior...

So personally, I prefer going completely hairless on my arms rather than with short hair...

Thin out the hair gradually over time with trimmers. Eventually you will be able to shave the rest of the way without anyone noticing. Alternately, you might find that at a certain point the hair on your arms is thin enough to present an acceptably feminine appearance. (That's where I am now.)

The others are right though. There's a good chance that nobody would notice if you completely shaved down all at once.

Good luck!

I have my whole body shaved, including arms, for many years now. As of yet no one has mentioned anything. Whoops, I forgot one doctor in the ER once but he only asked about my chest.

I've shaved my arms before... Keeps growing back, and quickly too.
Nobody noticed, but when I plucked my brows! Well I just told them I eliminated the start of a unibrow. Seemed to work.

been shaving my whole body for 5+ years, in all this time not one person has said anything. not saying ppl havnt noticed, but theres other things that stand out more about me, like long dyed hair, long nails, peirced ears and fem clothes. my 2 cents do it, if anyone asks tell them cause you like it, that usually stops any other questions about it. besides it will grow back in few weeks

I get mine waxed from time to time. If I don't wax, I trim them with a beard trimmer. I hate the feel of the tiny stubble coming back, so don't shave them normally.

I've had the same concerns as you, but you might do trimming very gradually, wait for a vacation, then shave them off. When you come back, folks may not notice at all, and if they do, well, so.

I have a bit of hair on my arms but I know some girls(real girls) that have plenty more so I wouldn't worry about it.

I completely agree with Erica. First use a trimmer with a number 2 or 3 attachment. Then after a couple of months go down to a number 2, then another couple of months go down to a number 1 buzz cut. Because your arm hair is not as thick or as coarse as you head hair it still feels soft but is very short. I stopped at a number one but it's dead easy to go to a smooth no hair shave from there. Progression is the secret - same goes for eyebrow shaping, little by little but progressively less and less.

Completely agree, but I have done that for a few month's- used to shave only above the knee, plucked the brow's gradually, trimmed the leg hair below my knees so it was less noticeable. The other week shaved my legs completely and none of the neighbor's and friends (who might think it strange/weird) said anything. Starting to think I'm paranoid for something I like to do. Now on the other hand I have a neighbor who regularily cheats on his on his wife and everyone knows it- they don't think he is strange at all! Something wrong here?

I have known a couple of ladies that had hairy arms and they were GGs. Now a day alot of them do shave their arms. My GLady has a 12 year old granddaughter that shaves her arms.

Thanks all of you for your advice. I'm going to go right ahead and shave my arms - maybe even legs - as long as my wife doesnt get freaked out, I dont care.

I really like the idea of using the trimmer on the arms. It can give you a soft, downy look that is quite appealing. It's also good for gradually removing chest hair gradually, if that's what you have to do. The trimmer is also good for grooming...um..."other" areas. ;o)

I am fortunate in that while being of Italian heritage,I don't have real hairy arms. The top of my hands have more hair than my arms do.What I have tried is bleaching the arms and hands. It does give a great illusion because it does make the hair much less noticable. I have done the whole shaving the arms and hands thing....It felt great and looked great. The funny thing for me was that I was so aware of my hands being "bare"...it made me uncomfortable in some situations with people. I would prefer to not have the hair there at all! Perhaps you should try bleaching first.....it is quite easy!

Shave them no one cares and if they do it's your life and you only live it once why not be happy. I have been shaving mine for over a year now had one person say something about it I said yes I shave them and he drop it. Act like you don't care what they think and they will drop it.

I have just started shaving my arms and everything a couple weeks ago, my mom was very unnerved when she noticed, but it lead to a discussion of my whole crossdressing. She was upset because she didn't understand and felt that it was her fault, but I told her that this is something that I enjoyed and could not think of a way to explain it to her that it would make sense. She is ok with it now and though she still doesn't understand she knows that this is something that makes me happy and will not "hurt" me in any way....(sorry i digressed).

My thoughts are go for it, if people are worried about it just tell that it is something you enjoy and the men wouldn't believe how nice it feels. Plus, if you are in CA, there are metrosexuals on every corner right? I would bet most of those guys are pretty much completely hairless too. <Just a guess from somebody who has lived in Texas their entire life and knows nothing of the "lesser" states j/k>.

Always better to be true to yourself and answer people honestly then they will actually get to know the real you instead of who they think you are. :2c:

I don't worry about what anyone thinks or if they will even notice. Arms are shaved all over all year and I wear both long and short sleeved shirts.

People are not that observant. I doubt anyone one mention it if they did notice it.

I shaved my arms, legs and underarms for my Wonder Woman costume 3 Halloweens ago and mentioned it a couple of weeks ago to my wife. She did not know I did it.

So most people will not notice. But I suggest to wax (or Nads) your arms not shave. My hair grew back in a couple of weeks and I believe is longer and thicker now.

I do not like hairy arms and I am a blond so it is not as much as most people.

PS I read that body waxing is getting more popular for men these days. Body builders, swimmers and others in sports have been doing it for a very long time.
