Don't have much hair of my own...so I gotta borrow some from the lovely asian girl that sold hers to make the human hair wig that I wear.

There are pro's and cons to using a wig, and also to having your own long hair. It's important to not believe in the feeling that having longer hair will make it easier to pass or look more feminine it doesn't! A guy with long hair, is still a guy with long hair!

A good looking high quality wig will look as natural as a full head of real hair, and act just the same, and also the fact that if you see a older very stylish lady wearing what is clearly a smartly groomed and well styled wig, does this not add to the illusion of her own femininity?

I wear wigs all the time for dressing, I have a good full head of gray hair (which at 45 is more than some guys have!), but I prefer to keep it cropped, although it would be easy for me to let it grow out and colour it, if it would make me look any more feminine, but it wouldn't, so I don't bother. (also I prefer to keep it short as a matter of choice, it makes wigs easier to wear, but that not the reason for doing so!) it my choose of cut.

Basically having your own hair can be nice, many years ago I used hairpieces over full wigs, but IMHO they look no more convincing than a good well styled wig. so hence I'm happy to use full wigs now all the time.

Hi,
All wigs for me. I don't have enough of my own. I probaby have about 12 synthetic wigs, and 3 really good human hair wigs. They are all long styles, but I wear my hair up most os the time. I just happen to like that look.
Huggs,
Andi

Wigs? You don't think I look like this on my own? They make red and blonde in a bottle. Ok well maybe I do.

At 64 years old I have only thin white hair left. Doing the girly thing I can look much younger, which delights me.
I have to wear a wig.
That shown is one I simply adore. I love the look and the feel of it.

Yes, I wear wigs because of my thinning hair on top. It makes me more femine.

My hair is about shoulder length now , I wish it to be waistlenghth, but I have gone to the beauty supply store and bought hair extentions , witch I have been known to wear, If my natural hair does'nt grow to that lenghth , I will just always wear the hair extentions...

I have my own long hair down to the middle of my back but i think that wigs are still good to have for that right look at times.

Deffinitely wigs. The super wide part in the center just doesn't look that good when I am wearing a dress.

I tried to upload another with a wig but 2 were took too much space I guess.

Wearing my wigs make me feel very feminine especially since I dont have much of my own. I love the feel of long hair around my face and neck.

I tried to change the pic to the one with a wig, but at 152kb, it was too large of a file. Some of you have seen that awful wig anyway. My GGSO says that all I need is some rollers and I'm good to go. Well after new-years. Christmas broke me buying toys for kids and grandkids.

I have a full head of Curly hair and about shoulder length. At 43 that not too bad! It's not gray as my wife dyes it! :heehee: But I prefer wearing wigs. It creates the illusion better! I prefer wigs that aren't as curly as my natural hair as I've been there, done that! Wish I was dressing more in the 80's as I was 135 lbs and had long curly hair down to my butt! No internet and VERY much in the closet!! Wardrobe consisted of whatever I could steal from he dryer! :D

real hair for now, it's down to the middle of my back, it's also a lot of work, I now know why most gg's have shorter hair. I did just have it permed and in a few weeks i'll get it colored to get rid of all my grays.

I have over a dozen wigs none of which I wear anymore. It's is just more free feeling going out with my own hair.

I'll be honest when it comes to hair I am lazy. If my natural hair works I will go with it. But if I have a specific look in mind I will probably try to find a wig that works. rather then do my hair. But IF you want to shock them NUCLEAR red is a good start.

All though if I could get away with it at work--and I cannot becuase we have all these new rules about body modification, tatoos, basically freedom of expression, I truly forsee uniforms by christmas 2007--I would consider pink or purple.

And we thought the family hated nuclear red.:heehee:

My hair is long enough that I could at least wear a partial wiglet but I just love to wear wigs. I have a variety of colors, lengths and styles all of which can absolutely change my image.

I am jealous that you can get your hair that long... I have tried so many times and I just dont have the patience. So to answer your question I sadly have to wear a wig.

Real hair for me, but one boyfriend is talking about getting me a wig. I have a thing about femme colored hair - I don't like it because I don't think the colors ever match the complexion. I am totally gray, but might go for a gray wig that is close to my color.

At the time being I wear a wig because my hair is short and cut and styled into what I would almost describe as one of those "white sidewalls" jobs that were around 30 and 40 years ago. There isn't any baldness in my family but my temples are real high and I get dry scalp, etc.a whole lot.I had shoulder lenghth hair when I was 19 and 20 years old and I was just starting to dress on a fairly regular basis, albeit "in the closet".I took excellent care of my shoulder length hair sometimes shampooing twice and always every shower, sometimes twice daily!I had a blow dryer, berretts, bobby pins, and when everybody was out of the house I'd go crazy for an hour or 2.In those days and for a long time afterward I often wore my hair in a Peg Bundy Top Knot. And when I would have the house to myself I'd do Updos and Beehives. I used Aquanet hairspray.I got a short haircut in 1977.I wanted to emulate the punk style which was new at the time.

I don't like wigs---they need to be washed (I'd rather just wash my real hair in the shower) and feel hot. I also felt my synthetic wig looked fake. Though, I might've had better experiences with wigs if I had bought a human hair wig.

I'm growing out my real hair; the front part is at nose-length now. I think it'll be the minimum length I want in another month or two! I plan on going to the hair stylist and doing something feminine with it after I'm recovered from my FFS (which is on Jan 3), but I haven't yet decided what.

Who out there wears a wig? More than those who don't I bet. Most people have other "boy lives" which means that at work we don't want long hair. All other times.....:D :D ....wigs "do the business"!

I used to not wear wigs since my own hair was quite long; at one point it was down to my derriere. Unfortunately long hair is a safety issue in my current job, so I had no option but to have my own hair cut and wear a wig while dressed.

Hi,this is just my opinion, please, but I think it looks more natural if one wears an 'age appropriate' wig. I turn 60 next month and plan to hire a makeover and probably will purchase a wig. I think shorter styles blend in better. Sure I wish I were 21 again and could wear super long hair, but that would look absurd at my age. I have a full head of hair, but it's very fine texture and would look terrible grown out. Merry Christmas to all, Helen:2c:

My hair has been shoulder length for the last 25+ years, waist length for a few years, and it always looked good when I was dressed femme. Unfortunately, time and testosterone have caught up with me and I now sport a large bald patch in my still long but now thinning locks. I've now got several wigs but none of them look quite as good as my own hair did.
