This is open to everyone

My mother has known a bit about my male self for a little while now, but has never approached the subject and never wanted to know anything about it, even to the point of refused to acknowledge anything to do with the subject.........She knows my friends are mostly trans girls and boys.....and also that i date a pre-op MTF as she has met her, so she knows that this is my world that i socialise within

Well today she came over to bring over my Christmas gifts, and saw a Christmas card addressed to my male name from one of you girls from Roses hehee.....well this must have gave her the openning or confidence to ask a few questions i guess......

So we talked abit and she asked many questions too and now she knows my male name and also knows i want breast removal surgery and she didnt even bat an eyelid over the subject, she might when she takes it all in i guess but i dunno......so i have to say i think she is finally 'slowly' coming round to the idea that her 'little girl' is actually 'a little boy'

I think this actually the best christmas pressie ive received this year.......'the gift of acceptence!'

so girls and boys what is the best gift you will receive this year or what have you received this year, assuming you dont find out til christmas day so this thread can just carry on http://rosesforum.tv/forums/images/smilies/happy.gif.......so let me know what is the best gift you receive http://rosesforum.tv/forums/images/smilies/happy.gif

Sorry that I didn't tell you about my best gift but I have no idea what I am getting or want to get! (Hmmm a psp game could be rather cool though!)
But I wanted to say congratulations :D

Congratulations. Could you send your mom over to talk with my mom?

I know what I'm getting, since my folks don't do surprises. A radio/flashlight that has a hand crank and can be used without batteries. I figure that's something every New Yorker ought to have, since this place can black out at any moment.

Oh, and a guy from work gave me two large bottles of Belgian beer. Not so much for Xmas as because I taught some of his classes when he went out of town. One's called Three Philosophers.

Kieron, I'm so happy for you. No matter what gifts I get this year, none of them is going to beat that one. I guess your mum has come to see that you weren't going through a phase, but this really is your life now and if she wants to be a part of it, she needs to see the real you. That's wonderful.

As for me, I got an American Express gift card from the five attorneys I work with yesterday, which I hope to put toward a treadmill since I can't get to the gym anymore. Nice gift, but yours is worth more - it's priceless. :hugs:

That's awesome, Kieron!
As for my best gift . . . I'm not sure. I did get a fairly comprehensive collection of Hugh Laurie DVDs for my birthday, so that was
But I suppose (and forgive me for being all sentimental) the best thing that happened was two nights I spent with Al-- I came out to him one night (he'd always thought I was a gay guy) and told him I was in love with him the next, and the way he reacted was simply amazing. I felt bad about giving him two loads like that to deal with, right in a row, but he was fantastic about it. So I guess that was it.

K, you got that right! That's the best for me as well. I let a few friends know about Lily, and no problamo! For me it ain't the material stuff, though that's nice too, but the stuff we can't touch but touches our hearts that counts. Accepting is a big part of that for me. Accepting me for who I actually am, then others doing the same. That is the gift I am going to try to give year round-accepting others for who they are regardless.
Love and xxxx, Lily:love:

Wow, Kieron, congrats. It's always amazing to find people who'll accept you for yourself, and when it's someone close like that it's even better.
As for my best present. Material: MASH DVDs, prolly. Sappy: evening spent with the boyfriend. We're going to have the dorkiest Christmas tree ever, and I'm quite excited about it. Most fortutious: the rest of the family went to bed, so I can check this site!! (I'm at home through the third, and prolly won't have much time at all on the computer without the family around...and I'm no way talking to them about this anytime soon, so I'm just not able to get online for a while. I miss you guys!)

Kieron, that is so great.
No material thing could ever stack up against something so blindingly simple and yet so emotionally fulfilling.
To be accepted as we really are for our true selves is something I think that we all wish for, but so few of us really find it, congrats to you!

Wow, Kieron, that's so awesome - thanks for sharing. Those are the best presents, the ones that mean the most, especially when you're not expecting them.

My best gift was just to spend time with my honey and our goofy pets tonight (catnip spray in a bottle - seemed like a good idea at the time - turned 13yr old cat into kitten crackhead! :jumping: ).

Well, Kerrianna DID get totally spoiled. It's the first year my SO has shopped for her new girl, so I got lots of nice things and bling :bighug:
Even better - this is where you gag  - EVERYTHING WAS IN PINK! :c9: :battingeyelashes:

He-He-He, Merry Christmas!

I got a new mp3player! My old one was three years old and totally ruined...

Now I can even watch video.
and read txt files... Mom was worried about me forgetting the shoppinglist again I guess.. :p

Kieron, how awesome, must feel great!!

Sounds like a milestone!! It's so hard to get Mums to see you as the strong person you are inside, and not their "little girl"!! I've been working on this quite a bit myself with my own Mum this year, I'm tired of my 2 older brothers getting all the credit, because they're guys!! I'm taking care of stuff, getting my parents set up for more comfortable life, and It's enough to know that I can do it, not anyone else!!

Wonderful thing!! You can use this to get you into a great NEW YEAR!!

 Way to go, Kieron!!

Congrats Kieron, I'm so happy for you! And kudos to your mom!

As far as the best gift, it'll be coming in a few days when I finally get to meet a number of online friends face-to-face for the first time.
