If you're shopping in the UK, have a look at the sizing guide on www.next.co.uk - they translate inches measurements (complete with pictures of where to measure) into dress sizes...

If you're shopping in the US, try googling for an online size guide. If anyone knows of a good one, let me know - I might suggest to Tristen/Julie that the size guide thing gets made into a sticky, seems to be a common question.

The only real way with the lying sizes of womens apperal is to try it on. Once you are firmiliar with the sizing of a manufacurer, you can probably count on it. Even inch sizing is often wrong on pants. I recently fit nicely in a 29" waist size... what a lie!

Where I am a size 36 to 38 (hmm - that 'm' word - eaurgh), I fit well into a Nike size 16 or Roots 18. It will depend on your waist sze for the bottom - normally, it's better to 'mix and match' different sizea, like at Wal-Mart - they have a greatl selection when it's in the seasonal time. Hope this helps a little. :)

Yes, I forgot about that. Generally, if you buy a two pice set, the bottoms will be to big if you buy for the top size, and the top tight if you buy for the bottoms size. This is because genetic women are proportioned differently from genetic men.

I tried shopping for a bikini once, but they don't make them that big, 42 inch bottom just don't look right in a piece a string with yards a meterial hooked to it.
