Just wanted to share a couple things with everyone.
Being as it was the holiday I had to go to church with my mother for the Christmas Eve service. She attends service almost every Sunday but, I never go with her. We were just getting settled when one of the regular members said. "It's nice to see you here with your boy", and to my shock my mom just smiled and didn't correct her.

I know I'm full of stories with this post but, same evening a few of the people my husband works with were having a get together for the holiday. I usually don't go out that often because I have social anxiety disorder. Anyway, I was feeling pretty good so hubby talked me into going along. To say the least his co-workers are a crazy fun bunch and were really cool about my being trans.

So all together I didn't get any real presents for christmas (everyone gives cash :D ) but, I had the best night I've had in a long time.

Wow, what a cool yule, Mel! Very happy for you. Way to go Mom! And what a cool bunch of people who can see through to the real person inside without worrying about what's on the outside. Good for you! By the way, I usually get mostly cash too - nothing wrong with that. It's one gift you never have to worry about returning. :D

Fan-bloody-tastic! I'm glad you had such an awesome Christmas.

Which reminds me of something that happened the other day. I went to my uncle's house for a big ol' Persian dinner. Whole family was there, that sort of thing. And I got there late, as I always do. When I came in, my dad said 'You all remember my son?' Because this was the first time they'd seen the shaved head, you see.
And, of course, they all took it as a joke, but I have a sneaking suspicion my dad didn't entirely mean it as one, which was nice.
