I thought it was really a great story. I have always loved the way Elizabeth Pena looks. She is still hot even with the extre pounds. Was surprized that William H. Macy who plated on ER was the producer. Billie Jean

I just saw it receintly too. I thought it was very emotional and informative. All the things she had to go through... It ended good I thought with acceptance on both their parts.

I saw a thread on this movie a couple weeks back and decided to rent it. I honestly had no idea until after I had viewed the movie and watched the commentary if it was a TS or a GG playing the part of Bree. Felicity Huffman did a wonderful job with this character. Not just the make-up ect which should be credited to the make-up and wardrobe folks but in making Bree so wonderfully human instead of a caricature. (kudos to the writer/director as well) Bree is a strong woman even with her weaknesses out there for all of us too see. ~ I think the struggle to find the right fit with parenting is something many of us can relate to. Gives the audience a jump point, a common denominator to relate with Bree on. So it isn't just a transgendered or crossdresser movie instead it is a child and parent finding love and acceptance in each other movie and the birth father just happens to be TS is all. Hey we all have/had parents right? Toby (the son in the movie for those of you who haven't seen it yet) may have thought his father was weird initially but then he never met my folks. :D Had a very good conversation with my family about what it means to be transgendered in general afterwards. And while it was a good movie in it's own right I was hoping it would give more information on the TS in general since I still have tons to learn. However, the movie worked as a springboard to enlighten folks a bit and get them talking at my house. I think that is a good thing. ~ Here's hoping it did that for a lot of folks.

It's not that surprising as he's married to Felicity Huffman who I thought was really great in the movie.

Yes, she did an execellent job!
When I first put it on, my SO said that she wasn't interested in that kind of stuff. I told her it was a chick-flick and that she would like it. Well as she listened, it didn't take very long for her to turn around and watch it too.
She also thought it was very well done.
So it got 2 votes here!
