My wife is down in her back so we can't go to a New Years Eve party we were invited to. So, I am going to MAC on Monday. I want to see what they have to offer different from what I am doing now. I have, for many years, wanted to get a makeup application/consult with their artists. I know they are expensive, so I have to be careful with their sales pitches. I'll post how it went after Monday.
Hugs & Happy New Year,
Beth

Enjoy. You might benefit from hitting their website to get an idea for what you want to buy. The internet prices are same as the store prices, so you can get a sense for how much you will be burning. They do not generally put on a heavy sales pitch when you are there. Enjoy! Erica

Good luck with your MAC experience. I went to my local MAC make-up counter about 4-5 months ago and had a makeover. It was awesome...I sat in their make-up chair while everyone was walking by and had my make-up done. I felt so pampered. They have great beard concealers. I actually use a combination of 3-4 different make-up supplies to completely conceal my beard. It is a bit pricey but to have my beard almost completely concealed when I am out as Michelle....makes it all worth it for me.
Let us know how it goes. MAC is known for being very CD/TG friendly so you should have a great time.
Happy New Year All!

I've had three makeup applications done at MAC in Denver. However, it was at a MAC store where there was a little bit more privacy than at MAC counters found in some department stores. Yes, there was another woman sitting right beside me getting her makeup done but my back was to the hallway in the mall and it seemed more private. Loved the makeup. Yes, it was expensive but I think it was worth it. And they are very trans friendly!

I just got in from my day out & to MAC. The experience went very well. It was down to the wire if I was going to get to go with my wife still having back problems. I finally go the O.K. from her that she was going to rest in bed & to go ahead. I hurried up & got fully dressed except for my makeup(UGH/YUCK). The final results was that we tried some new "looks" for my eyes since I wear glasses, which is what I really went for. I will be using their foundation when I use up what I have now (Estee Lauder liquid). It is the exact match with theirs. I ended up purchasing their primer & liquid eyeliner.
They were not pushy at all to buy anything. When I first talked to them they said they ask that you purchase at least $45.00 worth of products. When I was finished, the artist said since I knew so much & had exactly the same products they used, (eye shadows, bronzer, lipstick, eye brow pencil, mascara) that I could purchase just what I needed. I ended up spending $39.42. I will be buying more as I use up what I have in these products also.
After I was finished I went shopping hoping to find some deals. Ha Ha.
Everything is so pickd over from Christmas & after Christmas sales unless you are a size 0 through 8-10. These stores will never learn that the average size is a 12 & up.
Have to go, time for dinner.
Hugs,
Beth

stores do not care what the average size is / only the average size of the people who buy clothes, women age 12-29

Beth, I'm glad your trip was worth it. My experience at MAC is the same as yours... very friendly, helpful, and not at all pushy with the products. I hope your wife's back uis better soon.
