Salon Pedicure (with lots of pix)

OK, if all you girls have never had a real salon pedicure before, you don't know what you are missing! Sixty minutes of bliss, plus you end up with pretty toes :) For those who have never had one before, I got these pix Friday night to show the steps involved. Consider this a "Virtual Pedicure"...

First, a nice soak in a heat and vibrating footbath. This also helps to clean and soften the feet.

Then, the old nail polish is removed (goodbye, pink polish)

Using a heavy duty clipper, the toenails are shortened where needed

Next, a file is used to shape the toenails

A cuticle removing lotion is applied

Next, the cuticle is scraped clear around the nails

A salt-glow (a mixture of sea salts and oil) is rubbed in, to remove any rough patches or calluses

Then, my favorite part - a nice smelling lotion is applied and a 5 minute foot massage follows...mmmmmm!

Toe seperators are added, to keep the toes spread so they can be polished easily.
Note the inset photo, she picked heart-shaped seperators LOL

The nails are wiped with alcohol, to remove all oils so the polish will stay

A base coat is applied so that the color polish will stick better, and not stain the nails.

GoCrazyRed by China Glaze was the color chosen by my nail tech

Next, a UV activated top coat is applied to all ten toes.

And finally, the toes go under the UV light to be cured. My toes actually go under this light, I just took the photo this way to show off my toes :)

Did you get the paraffin wax treatment with your manicure and pedicure? I do when I get mine done...it is AWESOME! Leaves your hands and feet sooooo smooth and soft. I definitely recommend that for anyone getting their nails done.

DanaJOoohhh...peach-scented sounds yummy! Do you get facials too? My last session I got my first facial...OMG...girlfriend...it is to die for! Something else the girls here need to try. The feeling of your face when it is done is just DA BOMB! Your face will feel soooo feminine!

Christine, I couldn't agree more! A few hours in the salon does wonders for the self image (and the image others see). The gg's have kept this pleasure to themselves for long enough! It's OUR turn now. Ladies go for it. I promise you that you WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

Christine ReneeOf course I get facials! I was thinking about doing a step-by-step photo coverage of that too. The only trouble is, my male face would be visible the whole time. I always get a 60 minute European facial, and you are right! Your skin just feels like velvet when it is all over. Of course, the extractions process is pretty painful, but you have to suffer for beauty, right?

...and thanks girls for all the nice comments, I know you can't all get out to get this done, so I thought this photo coverage with the steps would be the next best thing :)

Seriously Dana: I think your thread was posted in a timely manner for all of us. Me expecially.
Excellent nail color and coordination of color and quality, with both hands and feet.
The sandals "pulled it all together" so to speak, and made your feet, nails and the color stand out.
