I just joined last weekend and a couple of times I had gone to a lingerie shop and bought a body stocking near valentines day saying it was a gift for my girl friend. Other than that I have never shopped for my own clothes. I just put on my SO's clothes. Well after reading the courage from a lot of you, and the idea of going to Walmart and use the self checkout, I decided to try it.

I must admit, I drove to an area about 20 minutes away from where I stay that has a Walmart and a Target in the same area. I walked in the Walmart and noticed none of the self checkout were open. I decided to look around anyhow. I threw caution to the wind and took my time looking at thongs, bras, and other things. I had to guess on sizes but I picked out a black lacy thong and took it off the hanger to spread it out to guess on the size. Then I picked out a black bra which I thought would go well with it. I then got a teddy and headed to the check out. When I got in line I changed my mind on the teddy and went back and picked out a full length slip. I then got a pair of panty hose and went back to the check out. After paying and leaving, I felt charged up and headed to the Target.

There I didn't try any on, but I looked at high heel boots. Then I went to the make-up section and picked out lip stick, lip liner, eye shadow, and powder. I wanted stick on nails but I didn't like what I saw. After buying them I still felt chagred and on the way home I stopped at a CVS about ten minutes from home. There I found some stick on nails I liked and bought them.

I want to thank you all for the motivation because if I had not joined and read your all posts. I never would have taken that step. When I put everything on it felt extra special knowing they were mine and I purchased them myself.

J_hewish, I hope I didn't give the wrong impression with my post. I went shopping and bought what I bought but I did not go en femme. Shopping was a big step for me and one day I hope I have the courage to go en femme but a step is still a step.

Please don't be afraid to buy these things. There is nothing wrong with it and nobody really cares. Only if you were to run into someone you know would you have a problem, then a little quick thinking can get you out of most anything.

The funny thing is it is all internal. I have been asked to buy tampons, stockings and other feminine items for female friends that were either sick or just running late to go out. My buying them would just speed up the process and we could go wherever we would be going faster. When I shopped for a female friend, it didn't phase me at all. But when it is for me it takes on a different feel. Like I said, it's all internal.

Way to go Trinnie,

I read the same posts about going to the self checkout and I must admit I was tempted....but not yet for me...

I'm happy for you and I hope that is just the first step in a l,ong line of steps...keep it up while the courage is there!:hugs:
