Well after 10 months of waiting I am seeing the psychiatrist at the gender clinic tomorrow at 1:00.
I've been through the psychologist regeme and told my M.D. about my gender dysphoria. Both my M.D. and psychologist wrote referral letters to the clinic so here I am.
Some trepidation, some excitement. I was asked what do I want out of all this.
My answer - I want to know who I am. I know what I am - a woman in a mans body. I gave myself the name of Carolanne. But until I hear it, I don't know who I am.
Maybe tomorrow will begin my path to knowing..
Love Carolanne

Hi Carolanne,
You seem to be ready for the next step, meaning that you have gotten your ducks in a row so to speak. I wish you the best in the next part of your journey. Seems to not get any easier, the "trepidation" I mean. Seems like with each next step, the fear starts again.
Good luck to you
Hi Caroline
Keep your head high and your heart open. We are all there with you.;

Wow!! He didn't waste any time. A 1 1/2 hour interview, ended with "You display all the patterns of a transsexual." "Your story is so typical, including your reference to having to work so hard at being male."
We talked about my options and even though I expressed my inability to go the SRS route due to family commitments, he said that times have changed and the trauma for family, especially young grandchildren, is less than that if their parents divorced. Hard to figure but nice knowing the road blocks I put up in defence of family may not be as tall as I imagined.
He gave me a large envelope with information about transsexualism (Gender Dysphoria), local resources, etc.
Next visit is in April.
Thanks for your support. I will keep you posted.
