I haven't had the urge to wear a dress for quite some time. I had the day off and my wife thought that since it was supposed to be warmer today that I should wear the new wool dress she bought me.
I had planned to work in the yard today but she told me that I could still do that but thought that I needed to do it in a dress. I have been under a lot of stress so I thought what the heck.
I hadn't been outside ten minutes when a car pulled into the driveway. The pulled up next to me and stopped and got out before I had a chance to do anything. Although at my age I couldn't have done anything more then have a heart attach anyway.
It turns out it was the lady doctor that I used to work with. She had moved out of town and was just back for a few hours. She had stopped at the hospital to see me and they told her I had the day off so she just came by the house to see if I was home. I make hand crafted horse tack and she wanted to see a halter that I had made.
She was quite nice to me. She didn't even laugh at me. She told me I looked better in a dress then she did. She said she thought about calling first but didn't think it would matter.
I told her it wouldn't matter in the future.
We had a nice visit and she left.
She shook me up so bad I had to lay down and take a nap.

:heehee: You look very nice in the picture.
It's nice your friend accepted you so readily - I think good people see through the dressing and just see the person they already know and like. It's a validation for you so I hope you see this experience in a positive light. She sounds like a kind thoughtful (well, maybe she should have phoned first :heehee: ) person. Your wife sounds like a winner too. Lucky you.
Thanks for posting. Hope your heart rate has returned to normal. :p :hugs:

Oh, I can't help myself, I laughing out loud. My vision of you, on the snow covered ground, caught like a deer in the headlights! Eeeek!
So sorry. I'm giggling and almost crying, at the same time, I'm such a mixed up gurl, giggle.
I really am glad to hear that your visitor was not offended by your appearence. It's so nice to meet accepting people, bless you.
Hugs,
Brianna

I think that you were very fortunate and that you had a really good time. I would like to get "caught" that way.
Good for you. And thanks for sharing.

Perhaps this experience can show you that coming out is possible.

I'm glad everything worked out for you. If this doctor is out of town, there's less chance she'll tell anybody else in town.
But I have a question for you.... Why are you doing yard work in a dress, and it was a NEW dress? The only lady I "knew" that did yard work (and housework) in a dress and heels was Donna Reed.
Now I wanna know what you wear to go out!:confused2:
Said all in jest my friend...

Love the dress,, hope that you had on warm undies, no need to get a draft(not the military kind) you must have one tough SO to make you work on your day off,I guess thats why you needed to take a nap, did you slip in to something soft, cuddly and cozy first??, no need to wrinkle the dress, :D Charolette

Glad it went well.
So, what kind of yard work does one do when it's covered with snow?

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside...
You more than handled it well and with humor:
"Although at my age I couldn't have done anything more then have a heart attach anyway."
"I told her it wouldn't matter in the future."
and
"She shook me up so bad I had to lay down and take a nap."
I love it.

It sure is funny, when it happens to someone else. But I can guess how you felt. Oh @#$@#!!! I too am glad things went well for you. Isn't wonderful when things like this have a happy ending...BJ
