What a morning!! Haven’t been out in a month. Started out like any other morning, that is any morning when I’m planning to go out enfemme shopping of course. Left the house (in drab) and headed to my favorite Family Restroom on the Interstate, lots of trucks but very few people in the facility. Got there about 7:00 AM, and by 7:30 I was done and back in the truck heading for the closest mall. (I’d describe what I was wearing but you will be able to see the photos either in my blog or in the Photograph Forum, later) Our JC Penny’s is moving and they have a big sale and as luck would have it, doesn’t open till 10. Grrrrrr So spent a half hour or so just walking around in the mall, with a couple dozen senior citizens, out for their morning exercise. Nothing better than being dressed up and getting some exercise. Plus everyone I passed was sooo friendly!!
Left the mall and headed east towards the Mon River, hoping that an antique store I frequent was open and on the way passed a sign for a local county park. PHOTO OP! They have two old covered bridges and though it had just started snowing, detoured into the park for half an hour’s worth of photos and movies on and around the bridges.
Back on track, down to the small village on the river and the antique store is closed. Pooohhh! Only open weekends in the winter. But there was a small park on the water and a tug boat pushing barges. PHOTO OP! lol Snow was coming down pretty good and I was cold so hit the nearby McDonalds for a hot chocolate. The clerk had bright orange nails, told her that I loved her nails and she replied that she thought mine were pretty too!!! They better, I spent a lot of time on those stick-ons!! Talk about a confidence builder.
So now it’s 10:30ish and I have to be back at work for a meeting at 1:00 pm. So on down the road and past another mall. Ekkkkkk Into the parking lot and into Penny’s…. Bingo!! Another sale! Spent a lot of time just browsing the racks, took a few photos, and bought a new top and a ring. Headed back to the truck but decided to go out into the mall for a walk, all the way to the other end and back, up and down the escalators, went into a few small women’s clothing stores but didn’t get anything. And finally into Macy’s…..just taking my time and passing through, admiring the clothes….stopping and checking the sales. Finally back to the truck for the trip to the office….via my reverse change back site.
But what still amazes me about the 5 hours I just spend enfemme this morning is that no one looked at me funny, snickered, pointed…. nothing even remotely negative!! I watched to see in the store window reflections…. ZIP!! Emily says it’s because I’m a woman. I don’t feel like one but I’m very very very comfortable in their clothing!! And maybe that shows.. Or maybe no one cares!! I don’t know, but what I do know is that I had the best half day vacation, the first one of 2007.. With many more planned!!! Next time…riding the subway!!
