I was born the right gender. And I don't dress for style. I dress so I can feel like a woman sometimes. To cry at the movies, hug someone who not a SO or someone of the same sex without being look at as strange. And talk about anything but sports. Being able to look younger with the help of makeup.
That's why I dress that plus the cloths look so cute.

For me it's niether. I do it because I find the times my GF is away from me dressing fills my sexual urges. But with that being said I want to be in style when I dress.

I'm an "Other" catagory girl. I dress to satisfy a need to be pretty and feminine. I appreciate fashion and enjoy being a pretty girl every so often. At least that's my best understanding of why I CD.

hi
neither..I just have always had this odd compulsion to wear womens clothes. Nothing to do with gender or style, I've just got some wiring crossed in my head at birth I think. I have been in girls gear since I was about 7 or 8...it's me

Colleen, I am so delighted to read your reply. It is precisely why I transform myself too. This need is why I was always unsucessful at purging. It can absolutely play with one's mind and can be confusing to others too. For the longest time my wife thought I wanted to be a woman. She now understands because she understands the need to feel pretty.
The greatest compliment for me is to be told by others who know I am a man
that I look pretty. For most males being told they were pretty would be an
insult.

I'm with Colieen on this one :hugs: I have the same need that she described. I have a feminine side that needs to be nurtured and allowed to grow and develop. :battingeyelashes:
In turn it adds emotional balance to my life! .... all that it requires is some fabulous strappy shoes, a fair amount of make-up and a sinfully short little black dress...:D

I think the reasons for crossdressing go way beyond 2 choices. Intresting poll but I don't fit either....... :-)
This is yet another example of a poll with insufficient choices. It seems like this is the case with just about every poll that comes along.

agree with jill, more choices please. picked style cause 'wrong gender' isn't true for me, style is in the same planet as my reasons, whatever they are....
Sometimes, I just want to feel feminine. I like to take the time to dress up and look pretty, and the clothes just feel so much better!

Other for me as well. I just feel more comfortable in skirts and dresses, I like to be that shape, I like the feeling and I like how I look. As my 'normal' everyday self I just get by most of the time, as Marianna I am living.

Maybe not born wrong but somewhere in the neither/nor area. Once I thought it was merely a "thing", but in comparing myself to others here over the last year I now know it's something far more profound, definitely Trans- Something

I've always wondered what it felt like to BE a woman: wear their clothes and do girly things. My youngest memories are jealousy of girl cousins wearing dresses, wishing I could, too.

I like to look much younger (wigs, make-up) Like to look feminine and feel femm clothes on my body. I like to look at very successful crossdressers and collect photos of them. I take photos of myself crossdressed and fantasize, sometimes while enjoying sexual gratification. There it is.

Being preceived as a woman does not mean you were born the wrong gender.
My choice if it had been available would have been:
I have no choice, this is who I am.

I dress because I like the feel of skirts dresses and lingerie. I don't want to be a girl, just to have the same choices in clothes.

Why do people love to do anything? With only 2 choices given I can't answer with either one. Ask a NASCAR fan why he enjoys fast cars. People just do what makes them feel good. Do we always need to know the why part of it?

I do it because I enjoy it.... simple as that. Its nothing to do with the fact that mens clothes are boring or I'm a woman in a mans body...
Sometimes I think I'm on the wrong board... there seems to be so much agonising and people coming up with all sorts of reasons to justify what they are doing....
Stop trying to justify yourself or come with excuses...

My gender is fine as it is.
Being "Dressed" requires an opportunity that males do not have in normal life.
Reason ? Well now, I do enjoy :
Style availability, (especially style {short skirt, tight skirt, bare shoulders, tight top, loose top and etc), one's bearing and walking vary according to the style being worn, then there is the huge colour choice to add and play with in styles.
Being feminine with it ? I do not know really, but it helps

I wasn't born "wrong." I just like to pretend that I'm a girl sometimes. And when I do, I don't like to do it halfway; I want to feel as if I am a girl. But I like the way I was made and wouldn't want to change it (unless I could change back!).

I like it! I like it. Is there any other reason? I don't worry about fashion. If you look at the Today Show, some of the Now Fashions are really Uugly. I may have been born with the wrong body, but I've delt with that all my life and accept who I am, so that's a no as well.
I'm just me, and... I like it!
:hugs:
as a younster it was fun to dress
as a teen it was stimulating to dress
as a 50 year old - it is fun again
i am a man - just like to play dress up!

I like the feel of the clothes. It's exciting and it can be relaxing too.The impulse to try on female clothing has been with me ever since I can remember.I accept my maleness and I'm not transexual. But I feel like a small part of me has sort of an interest in being fem part of the time.
