Hi all; I know its not a big deal to most of you but some like to hear how others are doing. I think i last reported that i talked with HR & got a copy of my work records. Well as of last Friday I have been able to use the ladies room by the offices. Today they brought out my new badge(old picture) with my name(Janelle) on it. He also said they should not be any trouble as i was an excellant worker. Kind of sends up a red flag but i will take them at there word. So as you can see everything at work is going fairly smooth.
Things at home & with my new counsiling are up & down & I expect it will be that way for a time. Can not wait until I get cleared for my hormones.
Well I hope this encoarages others that things can work out. Give & take, & take it slow. Good luck to you all on your journeys. Have great night.
:hugs: ,
Janelle

It's very encouraging, Janelle. Glad to hear it. I hope everything else follows suit, but don't get discouraged by any obstacles that may come along - just come on here and rant to us. We're here for you. :hugs:

Way to go janelle. I have one question. How old are you when you reached that this was your decision to go? Some reach there decision early others later in years thats why I'm asking.

Hi Janelle,
Please dont think we arent interested; WE ARE!!! This is a journey a lot of us take and your experiences are important to every one of us. We may see similarities or differences that can help us. It does matter as do you!

It is good the company is supporting you in this, at least on the surface. Let's hope it continues. We always seem to hear the horror stories but some of us have been successful in work. One of our members was just made a VP in the company where she works so there is hope. (Yes she is out and 24/7) It is a good thing when the company values the contribution more than other issues that could be perceived (and often are) as detrimental. Stick it out!

I am sure that the progress of transition will work in your favour. Just give it time and learn as much as you can about the process including the HBSOC. It answers a lot of questions and clarifies the process.

Keep it up girl. We are pulling for you!

:hugs:

To answer Tamera's ? , i have been working thru this for the last year & a half. Made up my mind 8 months ago to start being true to myself. So to answer your ?, i had just turned 50 when i said its time to stop lying to myself & thus Janelle has come out & hopefully to stay.
I feel so much better about myself & everything around me. & yes the people here have helped a ton, what a family we have.
I hope this answers your ? but if it doesn't please PM me & iwill try harder.
Thanks all your all beautiful.
 ,
Janelle

Good going Janelle, I have working on the same thing. Been trying to talk with my HR rep but was informed that he has been in meetings all week concerning pay issues. He is finally going to be free tomorrow so I can meet with him to discuss that it is my time to go fulltime at work. Found out last Saturday from a coworker that everyone suspected I was going for the sex change. Told him yes, all of the rumors about me are absolutely true. And if anyone would have asked me directly about it I would have been honest with them and told the truth. Then I told me that his girlfriend works for an agency here in San Diego that works with GLBT clients in the hispanic community. And that also she made him march in the Pride Parade with her this past summer. I told George I'm proud of you for that, I couldn't do that yet I wasn't ready to be that out yet. At least the secret is finally out and I can just go and be the real me at work. Just want to know when I can start and when do I get my new employee badge and use the proper restroom. Besides that it has been a stressful week for me so far, problems with work and at work. Work problem is that certain individuals would probable want to see harm come my way, another thing I need to tell HR about. At least I went and got to go see a threrapist who specializes in gender issues this week, I havn't gone to therapy since I switched insurance plans about three months ago. Glad that you are here on this forum where we can relate to each other and lift each other up. Bless all of you out there.

I have been on the hormones for months now but i still have to use the only handicapped washroom in the building for some 1600 people, so lets just say i end up squatting around behind the building from time to time...grrrrr
