Hi everyone! I just go back from a suprise trip to Boston that my wife sprung on me friday morning! She didn't go to work like usual and when I asked her what was up, she just said, "you'll see..." Well, we dropped off the kids at her mom's house, and drove to St. Louis, where we got on a plane and flew to Boston. We checked into the Fifteen Beacon Hotel, which, as you might have guessed, is on 15 Beacon St. Well, I have to say, this hotel is amazing! Everything was plush, the bedding, the carpets, the total ambiance, even the artwork seemed picked especially to enhance the mood of whatever room it was in. Super romantic, and the service was fantastic, plus the resturant in the hotel where we ate friday night was world-class!
Saturday we dressed and went to go shopping! We went all sorts of places, but I ended up at Betsey Johnson, where we found me this fantastic dress they called an 'Evening Café De Paris Strapless Dress', some strapy heels called Amelie Shoes, and this darling shoulder bag shaped like a rose, the Mini Me Rose Bag. Ater a morning like that, she topped it by taking me to the Amaci Salon on Stuart street, where we got complete makeovers for a night on the town, including hair, facial, and manicure/pedicure. We went back to the room and got dressed, and feeling like the princess in some movie, we left for an unforgettable saturday night on the town.
First she took me to dinner at a resturant called LEspalier, the meal was outstanding, and I cannot tell you how great the staff was, always there, friendly, but completly unobtrusive. We never felt rushed, even though the resturant was full, and enjoyed a great dinner. After that, it was on to a night club called the Avalon, boy, was this place big! All kinds of things were going on, and I have to say that I had no idea that the Bostonians were so liberal, kinky at times, and such party animals. We danced, enjoyed the music, and had a great time before we finally dragged ourselves back to the hotel.
Sunday we slept in, and then went to a very fun shopping place called Newbury Street, which is about eight blocks of fantastic buildings with some of the neatest shops and boutiques I have seen in decades. We spent the evening eating in the hotel resturant, and flew back monday!
I had the best time ever! Boston was great, and I want to say that if any of you get the chance to go, you should, they are tolerant, gracious, and welcoming! Everybody was so nice, and you could let your hair down and just enjoy yourself.
Anyway, if I seemed like I was bragging about my suprise trip, I was! My wife is the greatest, and proved it once again by treating me to this, and by having so much fun with me, I do anything for her. :D
