View Full Version : Glad I asked...

Hehe so at work today I was in "girl mode" or DRAG haha... (due to the Great Experiment).
Anyway, so at one point I was serving a customer with a PS2 game and as I was still handling it he asked me "that's DEFINITELY Tony Hawks Project 8 for PS2 yeah?"
and I was like... "uh.. yeah" and gave him a puzzled look.

Then I suddenly thought Omg... perhaps because I am a girl today he thought I wouldn't know about games and stuff and would mess it up!

So I was brave enough to actually ask him the reason why he had questioned it! I said "erm... sorry to sound odd or something but I'm kind of doing a bit of a social experiment at the moment... can I just ask why you questioned me about the game... is it because I'm a girl? You can tell me the truth, it's ok I won't be hurt...."

His reaction was like  "omg no it's not 'cos you're a girl..." (he seemed genuinely shocked), "...but because the other day someone served me with the wrong game..."
I was like "aahh... that'll be the new guy then... " haha!

I was so embarrased and went bright red when I asked, but I'm glad I did or I would have been upset thinking that he thought I was dumb about certain things due to "being a girl". (Which does sometimes happen to girls and women... just look at Kay's post here http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51541 for a great example of that.)

So.. sometimes it's good to keep your mouth shut... but sometimes it's good to ask!

Good thing he came up with the right answer or you would have had to bust him in the chops! :heehee:

I might be wrong, but it seems to me young people are more open minded about gender roles these days - at least they are where I live. I would never question a clerk's ability based on gender - but I would based on how 'alert', or customer oriented, they seemed.

Always blame the new guy.

Hahaha I blamed the new guy because it always IS the new guy at the moment :p :heehee: (he's not as bad as the last new guy though, who has left now, he never even got past "new guy" status!)

Glad you don't judge on gender.. but then you wouldn't! :D

Aha, it is a good thing you asked. I'm surprised he didn't ask you about your experiment - that would have gotten my curiosity going. At my job everything gets blamed on the secretaries . . . but everyone knows it's just a common excuse, so nobody takes it seriously. :p

Yeah! (I'm glad he didn't though lol!... perhaps he just assumed it was for a school sociology project or something).
Heehee like everyone at the power plant (on The Simpsons) blaming it on the guy who doesn't speak English... awwww!

Why couldn't he check it himself before leaving?

The difference between you and me Poc. I would have busted him in the chops. Like, okay I'm a "girl" you got a problem with that? Sorry, I tend to over compensate a lot but then again, I have a lot to over compensate for.:heehee:
