Photo Galleries

Hey, I was looking at the Picture thread and saw that some girls here would like their own photo galleries. I have thought about this in the past also.

I'm not sure if our site admins will or even want to do anything about this but I also think it's a great idea.

I think I've found an easy way to set this up for us, although it would not be part of this site since I'm just a member. This would also include blog space for us so we could share our thoughts in another way. I'm not trying to replace this site at all. I love it here. I'm just thinking of more ways to express ourselves that this site doesnt offer.

So... that said, would you girls (and GG's too) be interested in somemething like this? I've created this pole to gauge interest and if there is enough, I'll look into it further.

as a webmaster id be glad to build photo pages for the girls, they can put their own bios etc and will cost you all nowt......let me know.the good thin is that all youd have to do to let people know your pics are there is to post the link to your page!!

ps.....some of you may know tat i started building TG resource site built on ideas and suggestions from forum members. trouble is ive had to put it on hold....my workload took over in other directions...sorry for thsat.........this would be fun though and will involve no time T ALL!

good idea ,

some of the other sites have photo albums and you can put a number of photos in your album and update them when desired.

It would save a lot of attatching images to posts which slows the system down

I find that posting on Yahoo photos is a good way to share photos. After I eventually managed to find out how to make an album public I've been able to post and share lots of the photos I've taken.

I really like the idea. However, I think that it would be a BIG PLUS if it could be accomplished here, within our own community. Just my thought.

I would like to see it among our own community here. Also, is there a security risk if things are posted on other sites and linked here?

I agree that it would be nice to have here. But like I said, I don't know if the site admins can, will, or even want to do it. If the admins are looking at this, are there any plans on doing this in the future?

As far was what I'm looking at, each person would have their own complete profile and albums that are fully managed by them and nobody else. I lalso thought that the blog was a neat idea.

I don't see that there would be any type of security risk linking to or from this web page. People already do this now with other sites, and as I said, the users profiles and albums would be completely maintained by the owner. They can put up as much or as little as they want.

I like the personal gallery and blog idea. I dunno how the forum-management business works, but I can see them worrying about file size limits, bandwidth, load-times, etc. But who knows I could be under-estimating the power of the hardware used here. If they could do something on site that would be awesome though, but an off-site thing would be good too. Whatever gets the job done! :D :)

Forever I have wanted to have a web site, but just don't have the time or the inclination to put one together. I'm not much of a 'puter person, actually. I find that so much time is involved, and I could be doing other things, so I don't learn as much as I should.

I would, however, love it if someone would build me a web site, or even set up a place to put some of my photos. I have found that putting pictures on this forum takes too much time. I have to learn how to shrink the pictures, and go through all kinds of boring computer learning stuff. I'm just anal, I guess. Sorry, but that's just how it is.

A blog is a forum type where you post stuff.
Just another name for a posting site,but you can add pics and etc.
Im not at liberty to state any reasons why posts of pics aren't used extensively but Im guessing that its 1. Bandwidth is so expensive,and it would require a member charge for members,to access that feature.

A blog is kind of like on online journal, accept that everybody can read it and even make comments if they want. It's not something where I would put the most personal thoughts in my head but it is a fun and easy way to let people know what's going on in your lives. They have become wildley popular over the past couple of years.

So far the response looks pretty good. I'll keep looking into it. I already have the hardware and web server set up so it would be a very easy thing for me to get going. As far as bandwidth goes, I have plenty of that too. There are also ways of limiting it such as not alowing pictures over a certain resolution and keeping the galleries limited to a certain number of pictures only, and no videos. This would not be a pay site. It would be totally free.

Ok. I've got the site all set up. I'd like to have a few (3 to 5) "beta" testers for a short period to start with though. Anybody who's interested in both blogging and posting their own photo album, let me know and I'll show you how to get to the site.

The site is completely functional, but I still need to do a little work on the layout and homepage, so be patient with me.

I'd post photos and a blog. I use mySpace (http://www.myspace.com/) right now and I have one for my male side and one for my female side.
