Basically it's a petition to demand the status quo - not exactly earth shattering in my view. If you want to have a real effect then watch out for the publication of the green paper for the Single Equalities Act. I've already got one parliamentary political party on board to help fight for the inclusion of protection for all trans people in the act which will include discrimination in the workplace and in the provision of goods and services and to include transgender in its widest sense as one of the threads of diversity. Both opposition parties are on record (you can check Hansard if you don't believe me) asking for provision for at least one transgender commisioner for the CEHR. Why waste time asking for the status quo when we can make a real difference to the lives of trans people by speaking out for ourselves when the green paper is published?
