I was this " close to hitting the slopes. We just had 6 inches of the white stuff and the skiing would have been great. The roads were real bad though, visibility poor and I wasn't sure how bad the traffic would be. I only had a few hours and it still takes me too long to get ready. So I decided to stay in town.

I shaved three times, was carefull with the foundation. I know I'm going to look fine if I start looking female with only foundation and bronzing as opposed to looking pale or painted. So I put my wig on, and did the rest of the transformation. One of the most important steps for me is to form my eyebrows in to narrow arches. Now the issue is leaving the house....if you know from some of my previous posts, I try to find some place to change after leaving home. This time it was different,

I was completely made up beforehand. I had my high heel boots on, tight jeans, brown swade jacket and the only thing I did to hide was pull a hood up over my head and wear my male winter ski jacket on top which is long enough to cover my rear.

First problem, as I was ready to leave home a neighbor decided to shovel his driveway, so I had to wait until he was done, then a quick dash to the car. I got in and tried to clear the windows with the wipers..doh...ice. So I had to get out again scrape the windows a bit and then get back in. It was difficult to act natural with high heals on, but I figured the deep snow hid them from sight.

Then I was on my way, after being on the road for a few miles I pulled my jacket off in the car and then he was a she. I had to get some money so went to the bank via the drive through except when I got there, oh no, out of order...disaster?...well what the heck, might as well try going inside. I parked around the corner and walked in. There were two auto tellers right near the door, and one was free. Phew. So I did my transaction. While I was there the girl finsihed with the teller next to mine and another girl took her place. No problems. No funny looks or comments, this means I pass from behind because the other girl was waiting in line behind both of us. Big confidence boost for me. There were other people coming and going and no odd looks at me. I was feeling good.

So then I decided to go for a walk downtown and window shop a little. I must have walked past about 25 people in close proximity total. Not a single odd look. I made sure I was smiling a little all of the time and when approaching anyone I made quick eye contact and smiled some more. I got a couple really nice smiles back and the best (which made me feel warm inside) from a woman near my age. I passed by a couple of guys who looked like drug users and I was expecting rude comments, but not a word or odd look. I stood close by several couples, guys, girls waiting for traffic lights and nothing odd. I passed by at least 5 individual teen aged girls coming head on, no odd looks, just smiles back or they didn't look up. I looked in several shop windows and checked my reflection in the window and thought I was passing well. I almost walked in to a bar/resturant for a drink, but I didn't want to tempt fate and my voice is an unknown, so maybe next time.

When I parked before walking around, it was at a community center so when it was time to go, I thoguht I would go in and check it out. There seemed to be a guy and girl waiting in the door so I waited a bit and tried a second time, but they were still there, so thinking it might look odd to turn around, I went in anyway. I walked in to a lobby area that is about 10 feet on all sides with walls and closed doors. I thought, what have I done? Stuck with these two! To avoid converstation, I immediated turned and tried the door on the right which happened to be for an ice arena. It was locked. So the girl and guy who were watching me, the girl says 'you will have to go upstairs'. So I smiled to her quickly and pushed the elivator button which was in front of me.

Once on board I did a slow turn and pushed the floor number button. As I was entering the elivator I saw the guy check me out and the smile on his face said he liked what he saw. These two people looked like the type that might call out at me if they saw anything unusual.

Upstairs, was deserted, it had several dance studios and I found a co-ed/handicap bathroom which I could lock the door wash up and change back to drab. I couldn't help wonder what I would have done if the elivator door opened and there were dozzens of girls doing ballet. Maybe I would have joined them.

A couple hours out and its all over, and I am back home. Feeling good. This was the most enjoyable adventure I've had. No feeling nervous just out for fun. Sorry no pictures, once I get a small camera I'll try to take some. I just wanted to share my story and how good I'm feeling. Sally

Rita, Thanks for the reply. It is fun to get out and at the same time it is like you say. I didn't ever make it skiing yet, but I want to. I'm a bit unsure how to handle the situation where someone else gets on the chair lift beside me and wants to chat all the way up the hill. They might fall off if I answer them in a deep male voice. ha ha.
