The mean one. Well, they're both mean.

Anyway, I'd called her because it's her birthday. She's 49. We spoke for a long time. At one point, she said something about my being "weird" (Not an insult in our family.) and I almost told her, but realised it was her birthday. She could tell I was holding something back and pushed me to say it. I went easy, used the term "genderqueer" and explained a bit of what that means.

Her response: "Yeh, well, we've always known that about you!"

She said something during the conversation about her husband being convinced I'm a lesbian, and I kind of laughed and explained that, no, I really do like men. Oi. People really do have a dickens of a time with these ideas, don't they?

HAH! Awesome! :D

Lol... yeah it's funny the ideas some people have of us!!

Sometimes you feel like saying "erm no.. I'm about the most opposite to being a lesbian that I can be.. I'm a gay man!"

Good on you for coming out to her. That's really cool... and how cool that she was like "Yeah we already knew!" haha! Makes it a bit less scary.

Yay for Das... now who needs a strumpet blast *blaasst*

:hugs:

This is what I have been telling others. If they want to tell family about their trans issues. There is more than likely something about all of us that the family already knows. Christ my brothers called me a gurl all my life. Well at least until I was big enough to beat the snot outta them.:heehee:

That's awesome, Das.
It's kind of funny when that happens. I mean, working yourself up about telling someone, and then they go, 'Oh. That? I knew that.'
Very anti-climactic.

Eh, there are two brothers and another sister to go. Oi.

I have a friend who just came out in a mass email to everyone he knew. I'm kind of wondering if that might not just be the way to go... :D

I think the personal touch would be best... hard to say though because of reactions. If the reaction could be abusive, let them beat up a keyboard.

Anyway, that is good on you that it went so well.

:hugs:

It's funny how we think people don't have a clue and turns out they do.

Then turns out they don't have a clue after all. :heehee:

Good for you Das. :hugs:  Now they can get to know the real you better.

Oh, my stars and garters!

Just got an email from my other sister (the other mean one) who seems to need to speak to me, but lost my phone number. We haven't spoken since her birthday, last May. She lives in Texas, and we're only part of each others' lives once in a blue moon.

Hmmm... Y'don't suppose that my two sisters have been sharing family gossip, do you?

I think I figured out why the first one took the news so well, when my mom didn't. My mom loves me. The sister doesn't.

After all what is family for...support, trust, and most important unconditional love...

I remember coming out to my sister.... She asked 'Are you wearing nail varnish?' and I replied 'Yes, I am wearing a G-String'. Ah, it's so easy when you're English :)
