View Full Version : Recording Your Physical Transition

Are any of you who are going through hormone therapy(or have already done so), recording yourself as you go through the process?

I have been writing a journal for almost all my life now(I have about 41 years worth!), and although I definitely write about my transitioning, it just didn't seem to be enough. So I went out and purchased a video camera(Canon hi-def something or the other) and started documenting myself. Not only is it used as just a video journal of sorts, but I am using it to document the physical changes I am going through, as it's so difficult to notice them otherwise looking in the mirror every day. I have actually only had some minor visible changes to date, but I think this will prove invaluable to me as I go on.

So -- anyone else doing this or thinking of doing so?

Claire keeps saying "Oh I wish I had written this down" or "I don't think it was like this last week", so I think it is a fantastic idea.

I have kept a blog for just over a year and keep a thread on here too.

I just got a good digital camera for Christmas and I've taken a couple of reference pictures, I need to take a few more though. I've been keeping a journal sense my therapist suggested it last May.

I encourage everyone to record their feelings and experiences. If you take pictures or videos, DON'T PURGE! You never know... you might sit down one day and decide to write a book ;)
