View Full Version : Purge/ urge cycle.

I was just reading a thing on another thread about the cycle of wanting to dress, then purging, or at least NOT wanting to dress. I just wondered if there is a common cycle. I have found that the whole thing can go away completely for Summer but as soon as it gets dark in November it comes back with a rush. Maybe it is linked to depression or Light Depravation.
Any thoughts?

As far as not wanting to dress..I always want to. Busy life leaves little time to do so . I go on Holiday in the winter so I can manage more time to dress ( I'm a winter person ). In the summer, I have always stopped shaving for the obvious reasons ( only my S/O knows I dress ) plus it gets screaming hot here!
There used to be a cycle to my dressing, purging and all that comes with it. Guess I have come to terms with my dressing over the years ( over 30 years now ). I think that my purging was do to a lack of self acceptance. I “cycle” no more.

Hi Julie.
Great question, mind you I would not expect anything else from a UK girl Up North LOL.
As you will know from my posts I like many others here have been into dressing since childhood and have been dressing fully since my early 20’s. By this I mean I had at least one of everything. Until I got one of everything I just could not wait to buy and try whatever garment I still had not worn. But once I had everything which by now is almost (if not) 30 years I have gone through different stages of need to dress.
For most if not all of that time I have always worn both panties and tights everyday as my normal dress. But I could go weeks or months without wearing say a skirt or top, the panties and tights were enough. Then I could go weeks and months when all I could think about was dressing fully and would spend most of my free time dressed.
The funny thing is as you may know my wife both knew and helped with my dressing and on the times when I was not too bothered about dressing fully it would be my wife who would say, “why don’t you get dressed and let Sandra spend the day or evening”. She said that when I came out of the bedroom as Sandra I changed personalities and she would enjoy spending the evening chatting about girl things.
Your need during the winter could be linked to the fact that during the winter months here in the UK everything seems more private since the curtains are closed from early evening and we all feel like we are in our own little world in doors. Whereas in the summer at times the curtains are never closed or if they are it is late evening. So we feel more open and not as private. Just a thought. But as they say, life is funny.

Ah the summer/winter cycle. I think its a temperature thing personally.
I find it just too warm in the summer to dress. Although, I do now have some summer dresses and swimsuits that I wear when the opportunity arises. And I shave everything summer or winter. Nobody notices or cares.
I don't purge but do weed often. Clothes I don't like any more or wonder why I bought in the first place or the closets are just too full.

Julie,
Interesting question. I can't say that I've really ever had the urge to purge. But I have gone fore months at a time not dressing. I never really sat down to analyze why that is. Season doesn't seem to be a factor, but who knows? The only thing I do know that Holly is happiest when she is dominate and Mr. Man takes a back seat.

Julie, your one-word answer made me laugh. I didn't find that it made sense either. I do find a cyclical nature to my sexuality and think it is related to the rutting cycle of ruminants. I feel most girly when the velvet is on the antlers.

Well that's the sort of thinking I was looking for. Like hybernation time, or whatever. However......your post made me laugh out loud too. I could just picture a TV all decked out in mini skirt, tight top, little flash of stockings and high heels as she holds court in a bar.....
"Well of course...my sexuality is related to the rutting cycle of ruminants."

Thank you, Julie, that made my day! You're the best! I just wish I could show that photo to my friends. By the way, I am not conversant with English music. Is that quote at the end of your posts from Ian Dury and the Blockheads?

Fortunately there is small part of Canada where icy winds are a rarity.
Umbrellas are very common however.
The cold wind up my skirt that I noticed was from the heater in my SUV before the engine warmed up. Reminded me that I was a girl.

It might make me sound like a seasoned peeping Tom, but the funny thing is, in daylight its hard to see in through a window from outside. Its usually lighter outside than in, unless the lights are on. The human eye adjust to the comparative brightness oitside by making the Iris smaller and less able to see detail in shade or darker areas.
When the sun is shining on the window, because of glare, if you want to see in, you have to go right up to a window and cup your hands around your eyes.
At night time with lights on in rooms, from outside you can see every detail!
So the point is, unless you stand right up against the window, during the day, someone outside is unlikely to see much if anything through a window. At night, with the curtains open, even with net curtains, someone 20 yards away could see your five o'clock shadow as well as your matching necklace and earrings!

I agree with the temperature philosophy, as well as during summer it is just plain difficult to remain shaved for many of us. I know many cds who do not shave their legs or arms during the warmer months because they think people will notice something. I continue to shave my legs year-round, but I do take a hiatus during the summer on my arms. It's not so much that I'm afraid people will notice I have hair on my arms, but I am always cognizant of the one to two day old growth on my arm that is noticeable. I just don't wear shorts or go swimming during the summer, so my legs are fine when kept shaven. I'd much rather have shaved legs than wear shorts in public or go swimming.

"To purge or not to purge, that is the question".
I'd say everyone has 'dry' periods. It is short lived and before you know it, you're back in a dress....if you haven't thrown it out.
To purge is just a waste of good clothing. Unless you really love shopping :p

I never purge off my own bat. My partner does though and i have to be forced well almost to throw stuff out i dont need. I am a bit of a hoarder anyway but to throw away breaks my heart. I know it makes sense but still. As for shaving, i stay shaved all year. It can be a bit repetitive but the thrill.
