I noticed with interest when viewing online that the 'most users ever online was 320, 10-03-2004 at 01:15 PM'...... what the, the most i've ever seen is about 50-odd...... how come so many???? Must have been a party or something???? Or maybe a technical problem with the logins????? I don't know... wasn't around back then.

Do any of the Senior members have any knowledge why so many were on-line????

Hi derminator... please remember, even lurkers ("guests") are included in that count, so it is my guess that there was a thead or photo that was probably linked to from another forum, blog, group, or online article somewhere - and that is where the inflated number of people all online at once came from.

Right now, for example, there are 100 users on the forum, but only 32 are registered members...

Thanks Dana.... was aware of the member/guest count thingy... but still 320 seems high...... I just thought i might have missed out on something big.

Mind you, when you go through the member's list.... there really is a lot of members for this forum.

Still makes me wonder..... how many CD'ers are really out there???? More than we can ever imagine, i suspect!

I bet it was a Spider or Bot from Google or another search engine that ran through all the pages on the board. I've seen those on other boards put 150 guests on all at once to look throuh every page for their search engine.

You've got alot of people who just join to pm others and never post a thing on the open forum. Also guests are included in the total users online. Typically I have seen as many as 83 at one time in the MTF section at one point. If we can start a poll and make a time, the current 500+ active users(members who do post often) should easily break that record. Of course we just may crash the forum. But it might be fun :p

I think that's like the little factoids that CNN runs on it's crawl; like "it was -36F in Denver Co in 1864" or "man trapped in refrigerator eats own foot" then you go and try to look it up and it doesn't seem to exist! I want a job writing the news scrolls for CNN !
