Finally A Bride!

Well, I just have to share this: for years I have wanted a wedding dress -- and I have wanted to wear it at some sort of ceremony with my wife where my "second self" can make vows to this wonderful, understanding, encouraging, and loving wife! Frankly, I never thought it would ever happen! I did buy a brand new wedding dress on eBay, but I had decided it was a waste of money b/c I had decided that, as accepting as my wife is, there are some limits we all have if we are married. Standing in front of some officiant, taking vows, etc., was, I thought, beyond the acceptable boundaries of my wife.

Then we started planning a trip to Las Vegas -- and as some of you may recall, a few weeks ago I asked about wedding chapels there that might be okay with a crossdressing bride. I asked b/c my wife had said, "you want to be a real bride and have a ceremony, let's do it in Vegas." She may have added the motto that what happens there, stays there -- lol -- I don't remember b/c I was on Cloud Nine!!!

Well, to be honest, I started thinking that when it came down to formal planning and dishing out the cash,etc., that she was going to back off. I left it entirely to her, though, and guess what?!!! When we go to Vegas we're set to have our ceremony!!! My wonderful wife even bought us matching rings to go next to our wedding rings!!! I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am about all this!!! The deposit has been paid, ceremony plans made, and my wife has ordered me a beautiful garter. She has bought a beautiful black evening gown for her to wear, and she has ordered my veil and some really nice gloves.

Well, I just had to share this with you all. I may be a new, but I have come to value many of you as my sisters and girlfriends!!! Many times we post things, or reply to things, that are downers, or relationship emergencies, etc. I just thought it would be nice to share some happy news!

Wow, that is an outstanding turn of events, I'm very happy for you. Its nice to hear stories like yours of some of us having an experience like that! :hugs:

Thanks for all the great posts -- they have been very uplifting.

YES!!! There will be pictures. We made sure the wedding package included either 36 or 48 professional photos.

AND . . . we are on for the first week of April. Still waiting to nail down an exact time (long story behind why we haven't set what time of day: we're traveling with some people who don't know about my CDing, but they are leaving Vegas a couple of days before us and we are planing on setting the time for the ceremony based on when they fly out -- this isn't difficult except they are having to change their flight time). Anyway, we'll have a definite ceremony time very soon . . . the staff at the chapel have several times on hold for us!!!

Bridesmaids? Sounds great if possible. Right now we have a showgirl to escort me down the aisle (and basically be my "maid of honor"), and a Chippendale will escort my wife and -- lol -- be her "best man." Hey -- this should be a sweet and serious ceremony, but with a humorous side!!!

Wow!!! I'll never be able to do enough to adequatly show my appreciation to my wife for setting this up, or my deep and abiing love for her!!! :hugs:
