Well here she is:

Sorry the sound is so APPALLING! And the picture quality.

It might be better if you click the little re-size button.. (the 1st little square on the right...just before the full screen button), it might make the picture a bit clearer.

And Kieron, you always know how to get round me with your cheeky grin and puppy-dog eyes

What a tragedy for the poor girl that they obviously caught her early enough to have made a real difference but still let her voice break!

Sometimes I really hate the medical establishment.

I only know one girl who was in the same position and she was on hormones and t-blockers at 14 so she ended up with a perfect mezzo-soprano - like liquid gold. She's an ex-wife and totally crazy but that's another story ;)

Not wishing to sound bitter or anything, but at least they caught her. It sounds to me like she's doing great. Sure her voice broke but at least she was allowed to see a psychologist and get help. She looked very feminine so that is definitely in her favor, she has a great mum, and apparently understanding friends. That sounds like heaven compared to what many of us face. All I got was threats to be sent away to a childrens home because I was clearly mad wanting to be feminine. I'd swap with her anyday.

Like I said, don't misunderstand me, I'm really very pleased for her, but watching the clip made me feel sick inside.

Thanks so much for posting the clip.

Lucy is the subject of a documentary on BBC 3 (I think!) at 9 pm tonight (Sunday) for those UK members.

Glad you got to see it.... even though the quality is so bad. Hehe.

Btw her voice is a lot smoother than it sounds on this bad quality recording.

Documentary
Lucy: Teen Transsexual
9:00pm - 10:00pm
BBC3

Lucy Parker is a typical teenage girl, obsessed with clothes, boys, make up and shopping. But there's one thing that sets her apart from the others - Lucy was born as Richard and she is a transsexual. At just 17, she's determined to surgically transform her body from male to female. What makes Lucy's story unique is that she is the youngest transsexual in Britain to attempt to document on camera the psychological and emotional journey to rid herself the male body she was born with.

Check the BBC-America listings -- with any luck, they'll show the program there in the not too distant future.
