Hi all,

Like most of you I started to wear clothing of my mom and sisters when I was still a boy. Most of the time it was wearing underwear and quickly undressed.. that was it. I had not been crossdressing for over a year and thought I had it "under control". But I started again, but this time more active then ever.
What triggered me... Second Life (SL), the virtal world. Maybe "we" should call it Third Life

What did I do: in stead of getting a male atavar I chose a female. That was the trigger in real life to start dressing up again. This time, with internet and a forum like these, I am more and seriously into it then ever. Next week I plan to go to a make up lesson and go out en femme.

Questions:
Any one on SL ...as male or female :heehee:

I'd rather just call it MY life, both of them, which ever gender I'm dressed as at the time....

Yeah. I've looked at sl. Its flakey and they can't seem to keep it up an running properly. Some people have invested $1000's in the game and there is no guarantee that a computer glitch won't lose it all.

Nah, nothing is really stored on your computer. All the things you buy and build in SL stay on SL's servers.

You do need a fairly powerful computer to use it to its fullest extent. But I have SL running on a 933Mhz p3 512Ram PC with an old 64MB video card. It's not pretty but it does run.

I guess you could say it's a part of us, to want to dress. Tonight the wife said you sure are cranky, why don't you put on a skirt? And that's all it took to mellow me out. Of course my bad knee was hurting like 7734!!!BJ

My building account and my fem account. My fem account I a am a dancer in a club I have made over $10,000L and spent much of it on clothes!
Can only dance after 9pm.

I plan on getting land and selling stuff I made. The Fem account I explorer. Despite not liking men I do like flirting while dancing. Also men have giving me stuff including $1,000L once.

I have had many say my avatar is beautiful including the owner of the club before I started working there. I did work on it.

SL is the only way I get the female side of me out. I do not CD and my wife freaks out at the thought of me wanting to be a woman. She sees the learning and making money side of SL so is a bit tolerant of it. I try to only do the fem avatar when she is asleep.

Colleges are making a presence in SL and I am going to submit a proposal to the college I work. Including teaching a SL class in our virtual campus. Hopefully I will get paid to "play" in SL soon!

I am a programmer and an artist so I have made some nice stuff including a working clocks.

PS there are a number of threads on SL so look at those.

It seems Second Life comes up a lot.

Maybe we need a permanent discussion section on it.

There is lots to talk about, building, making clothes, hair, getting a job etc.
It is related to CD because for some of us it is the only CDing we can do.

I used to play The Matrix Online as a female avatar -- but I was more into developing her character than trying to be her... but to a certain extent, it was great to have people in a virtual world see me for the sex I think I should be. xx

I looked at it, thought about....and left it there. It just seems too much like Warcraft, where a person can get lost in it.

As a result of this thread I got myself a basic account, female avatar and took a look around. Got harassed a little by men in Orientation Island but once I found my way out of there had no further problems. Spent around four hours real time just wandering around, but with the massive sum of $L2 couldn't do a lot except explore. Must admit, I liked walking around as a female, could be a partial substitute for CD-ing for those who absolutely cannot do it in RL.

Right now there's obviously so much I need to learn, for example how to make some $L and it would be so easy to stay in there for hours on end...for me at least.

SL is somtimes a bit rough. The guys bump into you to have a "better look"
There are some places like Lesbos and Mysteria. These places are "female" only.

To react to the previous post: adding voice will be "killing" :(

I just don't get the idea behind things like second life, warcraft etc.

Sure, I used to mud occasionally but never paid for it. I hear you have to pay to use Warcraft or Second Life. That puts me right off them (that and the fact real life keeps me too busy to veg online).

You do have to pay a monthly fee for WOW.

SecondLife is free to play but if you want to own property you have to pay a monthly fee based on how much land you own.

That can make your voice female. Also not everyone has a microphone. If you are on the computer you can not always be chanting on a microphone. Very distracting for the family.

While these are valid reasons, I have seen the effect of this before back when I used to play "There" (http://www.there.com).

I don't really want to turn this thread into a voice chat debate... But really I think Linden Labs should be wokring on fixing the bugs they have before using resources on adding new features. Look at how they rushed out this latest viewer. This was called the "First Look" viewer for the past couple months. Now they have pushed out what amounts to a beta client and are focusing on adding voice chat.

Apparantly you have to be a member for at least a month before anyone will hire you. I'm not sure how long I've been there and, of course, I am a woman and I do like men. I have been meeting men and they have been teleporting me around so I haven't tried getting a job lately. One of my friends showed me a place where you can get a lot of clothes and stuff for free. There are some notice boards that explain how to do it. I can't remember the name of the place right but will post it when I go back tonight or tomorrow. Once he explained things he left me to shop and told me to get all prettied up for next time we meet. I have new hair, a gown, sexy lingerie, cute heels and some jewelry, oh and I changed my shape a little.

I think it would be a good idea to have a separate section for this.

But you have to be at least 2 weeks old to be hired. Also being in the adult industry you have to put in a credit card to verify age, no money is taken.
It was about 5 weeks till I was dancing. A few weeks of training and interviews.

I am not a women and do not like men but for some reason actually like the role playing. When I dance I am usually tipped better than the other girls, because I talk and flirt more. FYI I get just as much tips from female avatars as male. Lots of tips come from staff. I was told by a manager that I was picked to be "stripped" because I talk more. They tipped me until my clothes came off, which is $L400. The dancer with me was dancing longer and was clothed when I left.

I have made over 12,000L. The exchange rate is about $20 to $4000L. So I could pay my way if I did it every day. I have to watch out cannot have my kids or wife see me do this, She caught me a couple of times Asked me "Do you like being a sex object?" I did not answer!

Hi girls,

I am involved with second life and spend most of my time as a female. I dance and escort at a popular club in SL, and do pretty well.

I do use voice morphing software for the voice enabled SIM's to maintain my female image in game, and it works very well, no one has said a thing about it sounding wrong.

I know it kinda sounds wierd, but I feel like SL really gives CD's a chance to begin to experience life as a woman, and fully encourage anyone interested to give it a try.

It is not weird. I am 6'1" and cannot pass. So CDing does nothing for me. So SL is my gender confusion release. I do "feel like a women" when am dancing, almost too much, wish I had the right parts!

Was interested in escorting but do not do SL on a regular basses to make appointments.

If you haven't already found it, a good safe place for "girls' to meet is the Transgender Resource Center ( Pavonia 24, 35, 101 )

There seems to always be someone dropping by and if you wait a few minutes a group will form.

But do not want ANYONE to suspect I am not a female.

SL does need a fast computer, DSL or cable and a real good video card.

Girls,

I'm not going to gush about Second Life. Really. I'm going to stay calm and just tell you ...

OMG, IT'S SO KEWL!! SO FUN!!

Sorry. I lost control there for a minute :).

I absolutely agree that it's a splendid way to experience much of the thrill of being a female, particularly if you're stuck in the closet in the Real World. Yesterday, I shopped for clothes, tried them on, danced, flirted, kissed, fondled and got fondled. I'm expecting to "go all the way" the next time my favorite GF is on line.

I've just this minute returned from a looong and weird second life session.

I'm a bit befuddled and bewildered...about myself. I can't repeat most of it here, just to say that I ended up as a leather clad slave in some dungeon, strapped to a cross being whipped by some German hunk...and that is the least x-rated part of my little fantasy adventure.

Talk about losing control...sheesh !

I made a blond bimbo avatar. You know biggest boobs as possible, as high as they will go. Then narrow waist, wide hips long blond flex hair ($180L).
Big eyes, (the lights are on and no one is home look).

One guy asked me to dance in the club where I work. Had to leave fast when my wife got up and came toward me!

I like this too much, wonder what is wrong with me!

I have been unable to find any voice-changing software that runs on Mac OS. If any of you know of some, I'd love to hear about it.

There's a Transgender Resource Center in Second Life. I had a chat with a bunch of girls there a couple days ago, and we talked about the possibility of doing voice coaching, once the voice chat system has gone live. I don't think it's going to be very difficult to have a feminine voice on SL, with or without software. What's necessary is an opportunity to practice, practice, practice.

...literally, dressed in my new ball gown a few days back. I thought I would bump this thread up to remind people that you can be/do anything in SL.

Here's how today went for me....

I hung out in my fave club, dressed in my leather pants and skimpy top. Earned a few $ dancin. Went shopping in a mall to spend my $, bought some jewellry, new clothes, hairstyles. A male friend IM'ed me so I teleported over to him. He had found a cool place to hang out by the beach. We swapped some chat and a large colorful frog came to join in, he said "ribbet" and changed into a hermit crab.

In the meantime my male friend transmuted into a beautiful girl in a sparkley dress with waving blue hair, the crab proceeded to claw at her until told to keep his claws to himself. I complimented my friend on her dress and so she gave me a copy to try on later.

For those who tried SL and weren't impressed at first...you need to explore, there's a lot of wonderful stuff that isn't too obvious. For a while, with a bit of imagination, you can be who or what you want...even a frog.

Second Life is the 21st century equivalent of paper dolls, for grown ups!

A computer environment that allows you to create a character, dress in her favorite clothes, dance, flirt, have sex, and even experience Lilith's most amazing dungeon adventure -- uses visual and aural stimulations to help you imagine the world differently.

I remember my sister and her friends playing with paper dolls when I was a kid. I always thought it seem strange that they got so "into" it -- after all, it's only paper. They spoke the lines of their dolls, dressed and undressed them, had dances, all that stuff. For them, it was real enough to enjoy. Of course, Second Life is really only pixels.

I believe this is called "immersion" -- the ability of the player to transport herself "into" the environment. Just as when we experience a gripping movie, or someone telling a really compelling personal story, the visual and aural experience of Second Life allows us to let go of RL (Real Life) for a while.

This is a forum about cross-dressing, so let me relate SL back to that, before I rave too much :). My SL persona has perhaps a couple dozen outfits, including a most skimpy bikini, a babydoll nightgown, several full-length ball dresses. I get a high degree of immersion in SL, so, for example, dressing up in a beautiful copper-colored chiffon gown, and go dancing with my GFs is a most amazing feeling.

Being fully closeted in RL, I'll never get to experience this anywhere else. Besides, when you dance your tush off in SL, you don't get tired :) !

Lilith, I'm continuing to look for you in SL -- see you there.

Hugs,
Susie

Exactly ! When I'm in there I am my avatar even though I know that in reality the whole thing is really a simulation, a game...like paper dolls. I believe that some people don't "get" this immersion and would consider us completely crazy but, as you say, it is no more crazy than being "inside" a book or good film.

By the way, not dungeon.....dungeons :D

They are looking into the gambling in SL too. LL (Linden Labs) has now removed casinos from the search function. I can kind of see the point, sure you are gambling Linden Dollars (L$) but L$'s can be bought and sold for real $$$. So it's real online gambling.

I ceratinly am not making any money in there beyond a bit of dwell (w)horing, but that is not even worth it anymore.

To really make money you need to be a good clothing designer, scripter, builder, land barron, better yet a combination of builder/scripter.

LOL !

From posts here and comments to me in RL, it seems that people are either susceptible to the "immersion" or not. When I am in there I *am* my avatar and she is an extension of me..in fact I'm gradually tuning her appearance to reflect a persona I would like to project in RL but which is completely impossible. When I am at a location chatting it "feels" to me that I am in a real place talking to real people in a real place.

For those who don't "get" it this must seem sad...a grown man manipulating a little on-screen character and typing furiously into a PC keyboard. In my defense, I also get immersed in a good story and can get choked up watching a good film..both can seem very real to me at the time. SL is just a powerful and interactive extension of this.

I'll meet you in the shrinks waiting room :D

You can buy land (actually lease it) you can make a store. You can sell stuff, houses, clothes, scripts (programs) and animations. Most of the big money makers are landlords, they have land to sell and rent it to people for stores or residents.

You can get a job, open a store or club and hire people.

To own land you have to be a paying member $9 a month or about $6 if you pay a year in advance. But you can rent land and put up a store or house with the free account, which I still have. $9 is about $2,000L. A good skin sells for more. Houses for hundreds or thousands, flex hair or wings $200 or more. So it would not take many sales to pay the monthly fee.

If you are good a building and making clothes, scripting, animation, and making hair you can make lots of money. But you have to put a lot of time in it. Good scripter’s can get jobs at Linden.

Some people have quit their RL jobs because the income in SL was more! This is not the norm and I suspect it would not happen too often. Most people stay in SL for a few weeks and get bored. (My guess from the turnover of tipping customers I get at the club.)

So the big sellers are clothes, flex hair, buildings and scripts, animations, land and renting land.

There is so much free stuff you almost do not need to buy. But the good flex hair and clothes, skins, you can not get free. I have a number of really nice buildings I got free, vehicles, (motorcycles, cars, UPS truck, bicycles, etc.)
All this free stuff is making the vendors upset. Maybe Linden will do something about it. Then there is the people that get the free stuff and sell it to newbees and welcome spots and sandboxes, if caught they can be suspended.

For example I made a cuckoo clock. It tells the correct SL time and the pendulum swings. I am working on the scripts to make it cuckoo on the hour and half hour and to tick tock I was told it would be a big seller once finished. I also am making paintings for homes. I am taking photos of all my original art and making paintings in SL with them, frames and all. They look great. I have made wings, a devil tail and am making a submarine. The people with land like to fill their homes with stuff. That is where you get your good sales.

SL is not a game as such it really is a Second Life. I meet a real Japanese Geisha. She had an interpreter and worked at a tea house in SL and in RL. She tipped me over $400L when I was dancing!

I have chatted with people in England, South America, France, Canada, China and more. It is really interesting.

So SL is what you make it that is why it is called Second Life.

with the free account, which I still have. $9 is about $2,000L. A good skin sells for more. Houses for hundreds or thousands, flex hair or wings $200 or more. So it would not take many sales to pay the monthly fee.

Yeah, I got loads of freebie clothes/shoes for my wardrobe and am having great fun putting outfits together...but so far no decent flex hair. I got freebie flex hair but my scalp shows through when I shake my head...just like a cheapo wig in RL :D

Tonite, I'm suffering from SL withdrawal. It is down for an upgrade and they are having problems getting it back up :(

You get a posing stand. Stand on it /ao off, and edit the hair. You can then move the hair around to get rid of the bald spot. Also you can get into appearance and make your head smaller or a different shape, ie less egg shape or more egg shape . You might have to do both to fix it. When you get prim hair you usually need to adjust it anyway. They might not tell you that with free hair. You can get a posing stand just about anywhere there is free stuff.

Hiya all,

I got some cool flexi hair now, big improvement. Dina...I would test your posin stand but I'm away from home right now and this laptop is not SL capable. I'm SL cold turkey with another few days to go :( Be back next week if that is any use.

My name in SL, BTW is the same as here...except substitute numeral "1" for each letter "i"..that is L1l1th, my friends call me L1 :)

I just got into SL recently. I haven't interacted with too many people yet and I have not bought anything. I did make myself some raccoon ears and a raccoon tail that I wear around. I also made a rubber penguin that says "I want some fish" when you touch him. I like it because I can express myself creatively without having to use any real-life tools such as paint brushes, carving tools, etc.

I haven't made anything yet, just explored, socialized, danced and more :). Also accumulated tons of pretty outfits.

I've been amazed at the amount of artistic creativity in there. I've walked through enchanted forests with squirrels running through trees that wave in the breeze while shedding a few leaves, dived to the bottom of seas and found coral reefs full of colorful fish, stood on the shore and watched whales basking as the sun sets, explored gothic castles with walls lined with rich tapestries, played magic drums in elven villages....and all the time I wonder who has spent the time to make all of this amazing stuff.

BTW, if you can make pets you may be onto a winner. I saw cats, dogs and dragons for sale somewhere at L300 each.

Anyway, L1l1th, I'll drop a copy of my multipose stand on you and you can test it when you get back.

Thanks, I can log in to SL from here, but then this laptop quickly slows to a standstill...taking several minutes to render a scene. I'll give the stand a workout next week.

Is there much of a learning curve with building stuff? I'm asking because I may have a go when I've played around some more. I do have experience in software development so I'm hoping that might give me a headstart, although I'm aware that a different skill set will probably be needed. :hugs:

There is a bit of a learning curve. If you have ever used any sort of CAD program the controls will seem more intuitive. I would recomend you catch one of the many free building classes. Look for an introductory one. Search (the search is working) for "building" in events but limit it to education.

There are also some changes coming, I am not sure how it will effect the basic tools,as it is more of an advanced item (sculpted prims). As is it now you must build everything out of basic geometric shapes the twist and bend them into the forms you want.

I've been in Second Life for almost 3 months now and I'm totally hooked. It's been a joy having a female avatar and "living" as a woman. The Transgender Resource Center in SL has been extremely helpful to me - it's all worth it just for that alone! If you're in SL, please look me up (Devin Dinzeo). Lots of fun to have shopping, exploring, or just hanging out at the t-friendly dance clubs. Hope to see everyone in-world! :-)

I was just wondering, though, why the involvement in TG ? Surely in SL you *are* completely female...so why do you need to seek out t-friendly places ? Why not just be a woman ? Something I'm missing here ?

Oh just because I am exploring until I cannot keep my eyes open is not hooked or is it.

I have made lots of stuff including a working clock and a cuckoo clock. Am still working on the cuckoo every hour and half hour. The script is a bit more that I expected. But the cuckoo clock tells time SL and the pendulum swings.

In any case IM me for my SL name. I have a job dancing and cannot have it know that I am a guy (of sorts)!

It is great to be a girl in SL. It has brought me to the conclusion I am a bit more comfortable with being a woman than I thought. Cannot let my wife find out. I have to Play after she goes to sleep as it is.) Just wish I really looked like that, (not that big of boobs though!)

Be a girl in SL and deny you are a boy in RL or be yourself TG in SL.

Since I have a job dancing I have to pretend I am a female in RL. Some one did figure it out or make a good guess at a transformation site. I made the mistake of saying I like to see boys turn into girls. Not sure if the other person was a real girl or boy. I suspect from the language she is either a girl that likes Transformations or a TG woman.

The transformation places are not just gender like Siren Song. They are all kinds of transformations. I like all forms of transformations. So that is why I was looking at the place.

I started out as a "regular" female, but it got complicated very quickly as I started getting very close to friends (both male and female) and guys started hitting on me in the straight clubs. I wasn't comfortable with deceiving anyone, so I ended up revealing that I was TG in real life (RL). It was well received and all of them are still my friends. Overall, being up front about being TG in SL/RL has made things simpler for me (I now have it in my SL profile). I know most don't choose that route, which I respect. Just a personal choice for me.

I had to uninstall SL because it was causing too many problems with my computer. Since both my kids also use the computer they were beginning to question why I had to shutdown the computer so often and why it would suddenly slow down. I will be gettin gmy own computer by the Fall so I will have to patiently wait until then. I was having a lot of fun while I was there and building a longer list of male friends. One contacts me by e-mail from time to time and I don't have the heart to tell him I'm TG. I still act in character when I talk to him. I would assume that everyone on SL would realize that this is a make-believe world and that there most likely is not a parallel between SL and RL. Anyone read the "Otherland" series by Tad Williams?

I am 6'1", I do not CD, no point in it. My wife does not like this and I keep out of sight. So SL is my ONLY release.

Yes I have had guys hit on me (even have had sex,) oh that is out now. My profile says "do not ask about Real life I am in SL to escape from RL." People are good about that if anyone suspects I am a guy I have not had any hint of it except that one time. Never at the club while dancing.

I am not sure how SL was causing this? I know the most recent viewer is a little buggy and possible has a memory leak as I need to run it from a clean boot to get the best performance.

But there is no reason why SL just being there could cause your computer to suddenly slowdown.

Second life was fun to poke around with for a while but it is painfully slow, bruatally slow. Its the biggest experiment to make money with virtual assets outside of the Asian MMO/item store market, and I'd like to see the next project/world Linden puts out, I'll definatly be subscribing to it.

SL has some technical problems. The main item you cant get around in any enviroment that allows users to build on a large scale is that it requires everything to be stored serverside and transfer everything to the client software on the fly. Certain items are cached client side but its mostly one long one-way transfer. The problem isn't that this requires a highend computer, the requirements for SL are pretty low, its that the software wont let you use the computer you have. The best way to make an enviroment like SL play fast is to give it bandwidth and give it cache space, but you run up againt a wall with the client software at 1gig cache and 1 meg bandwidth. The bandwitch cap I can see, bandwidth costs money and server farms don't run for free. I'd actually pay more for an option that gave me more bandwidth and maybe gave up the weekly cash allowance. The 1 gig client side cache is insanely out of date (I have .pdf files that are almost 1gig). HDDs are blindingly fast, let me run a 10 gig cache.
Kudos to linden on making a Mac version. The Mac version isn't as stable as the windows version but just putting the development time into it was a good decision.

Yeah, a wonderful fantasy world. Here's one of me riding pillion with one of the great people I have met. I don't know who they really are and they don't know who I am. Nobody cares !

SL is a time black hole. For example, last night I got to bed just as dawn was breaking after several hours spent in the center of Amsterdam meeting other tourists and exploring. Some team of enthusiasts have accurately recreated every shop and building in Amsterdam town center, just as it is in RL. I'm expecting quite a few other RL places to get the same treatment.

Last night was a hoot because I went there as a drunken reveller, complete with drinks, staggering around and singing my head off. Caused a lot of laughs. That is something I would never do in RL in either boy or girl mode...but hey, this is SL, anything goes.

All of us in here inviting each other for a meet in-world....

We need to get organized if it is going to happen. The venue is fairly easy, we can use TRC, I'm sure the owners would not mind. Time&place is a bit more problematic considering our various rl time zones. I can get online almost any time 08:00--01:00 GMT and on most days but many of you will have time constraints.

Here's my suggestion...treat it as a starting point...I'm open to any ideas. How about making a point of checking out TRC each night at exactly 00:00 GMT ? We could just turn up for a few minutes, see if anybody is around. Just outside the entrance would be good, so as not to gatecrash anything that may be going on inside.

So come on folks, lets get together and party :drink:

Actually, SL is not a game, there is no scoring or competition or "winning".

It is a virtual environment where you decide what you want to achieve. This might be making lots of L$ (the SL currency), exploring, socializing or joining various groups/clans..the thing is, you decide for yourself, just like in RL. Would be happy to chat if you want to meet up in there (see my other posts regarding meeting up)

Hey this SL looks pretty cool. I went there and created an account, but I have a couple of questions that I couldn't figure out by browsing the SL site...

1. The only linux client appears to be for i686. I don't suppose (and this is really a stretch, I know) anyone knows if they are working on a client for AMD 64 bit ? (x86_64)?

2. I couldn't seem to get to the forums for help unless I input a credit card number. Is that right? I've logged in, but I get blocked going to the forums, and it looks like I have to supply a valid credit card, even if I don't want to a premium account. The page says I don't need a premium account, but I can't seem to get there without putting in my credit card info, which I don't want to do.

Mostly I'd like to get to their forums, so I can see what's happening the AMD 64 bit client of that browser.

Thanks!

p.s. there was a reference to another on line game called "Marital Heroes". Anyone have a URL for that??? I tried googling and going there, but www.maritalheroes.com just links to other game sites - I can't seem to find that game either.

Thanks all! hugs.

I can't answer the tech questions, but from the SL website:

<<The Second Life Forums require you to meet the following conditions:

* You have logged in to Second Life at least once with your account.
* You have valid payment info on file for your account, if your account was created after August 20, 2006. You can update your payment information here. You don't need to have a Premium account.

If one or both of these aren't true, then you can't access the forums. The reason why this is done is to deter abuse such as spam. >>

I don't believe they are working on a 64bit version yet. But you can get the 32bit Linux client to run in a 64 bit Linux environment. I had it running in the AMD64 version of Ubuntu back when Edgy Eft was really edgy. You have to jump through a few hoops, but if you are familiar with Linux then you are used to that by now:heehee:

Also sorry to say the Linux client is severely lacking in many ways, and is still considered an "alpha" release.

Hey all - I have the SL client working now!

My WinXP client kept crashing on my laptop.

Finally, I got the linux client installed on my desktop. AMD 64 Debian Etch system.

I had to:
upgrade my kernel to 2.6.18.4
install ia32-libs-gtk
install nvidia drivers from nvidia.com

But now it's working! I'm still finding my way around, but if you see a character named Sherry Sautereau, that's me. Please come up and say hello. :)

For now, I'm mostly on help island....

If anyone want's help getting the client loaded on ADM 64 Debian, let me know!

I second that, there's a lot of stuff to learn that isn't very obvious at first.

Sherry, I will look out for you when you venture out into the real sl world. :hugs:

Well, might as well be. I jumped on the wagon after reading how much time was being spent there; figured there must be something good about it. I did introduce myself a few months ago as Miranda, and though I haven't been an active participant in the community, this thread provided a venue that I am comfortable with.

In every game I've ever played that has allowed the option of choosing gender, I have always preferred female characters. I always selected them under the premise that they where easier on the eye (which holds some truth), but in SL I'm beginning to recognize the freedom.

I started my character yesterday and got acquainted with the world, and I spent nearly all day today primping my avatar. I did attempt to impose my facial features on the appearance screen, but an unforgiving interface and a mis-click undid about 2 hours worth of tweaking ... oh, well.

So, before I carry on too much longer, I would like to use this opportunity to provide my visual introduction to my SL avatar, Akroma Vella. I actually like the name so much, I have considered shortening it for RL purposes and going simply by "Kroma," (after all this is a fantasy in RL too). And, its short, simple, and it starts with a "K."

So without further a due, here I is ... uh .... am.

And a very pretty av too. IM me any time in-world, would love to chat and maybe meet. My details are in my public profile. Here's one of me on a SL fashion catwalk earning some L$

Well...after several attempts at uploading a perfectly ordinary jpg image, I give up !

Wow - that is some good-looking avatar. And with you having lost two hours worth of changes?

I have visited second life only occasionally - as Kahil Mendes - and use a male bodyform with a skirt. One person came up to me and asked, in French, why I was wearing a skirt, but otherwise I have been ignored.

The only thing with these games is the amount of time they take up. I have finally got a PC that makes it viable - but haven't connected with anyone else there yet.

I have to say that I tried SL and found it extremely tedious and actually rather pointless.

Oh there's plenty of transfolks in SL. I've been in SL for almost a year, my rezday is the 19th!. SL and SL related things take up a lot of my "internet time"

I'm CronoCloud Creeggan in SL, I do visit the TRC on occasion and I say right in my SL profile that I'm transgendered.

Oh, avatar pictures, taken for that L'Oreal contest:

ETD "Roslin" hair, "Tete a Pied" Skin, The dress is from "Shine", shoes from "Shiny Things", jewelry from "Raven's Creations"
