Hi Louise.
What a great idea. I did some research on committment ceremonies for a story I'm working on and there are some really nice ones on the web. Do a Google search and you'll be surprised.

Wonderful idea. My wife and I were dressed in matching white wedding dresses at our renewal of wedding vows conducted by a retired Archbishop of the Catholic Church. We had a male friend walk us down the isle with the wedding march playing and after the ceremony had a reception for the 200+ present with wedding cake, punch, etc. That is the utimate enfemme expereince of a lifetime. Can you believe this occured 15 years ago?
Have a great time planning and enjoying your renewal of vows ceremony.
Hugs,
Melanie

My wife and I are doing such a ceremony next month in Las Vegas. We bought me a beautiful, brand new wedding dress on eBay for around $250 -- it has to be worth much, much more. My wife found a very elegant black evening dress on an on-line store. "Vegas being Vegas," a showgirl will escort me down the aisle and be the maid of honor, while a chippendale will stand as the best man -- this was the chapel's idea and we liked it -- makes it a truly fun, Vegas-style event. Speaking of the chapel we chose, the people there couldn't have been nicer or any more accomodating in helping us plan this. They not only didn't have a problem with me being a CD, they were very reassuring, letting us know that they handle this and all other kinds of committment and/or renewal ceremonies. A make-up artist will come to me and give me a professional make-over . . . and a limo will drive us back and forth from/to the hotel. They (the planners at the chapel) think of evry detail!
Hope you can find something that will suit you and your husband. We almost went for a ceremony on a beach, but opted for doing it in Vegas when the opportunity came up for us to go out there. Oh yeah, the chapel will have a photographer there and we will have a choice of different photo pakages. We'll also get a DVD of the ceremony!

First off Congratulations! Sounds awesome!
I don't have first hand experience ...but my two best friends will most likely be doing a ceremony like that next year.
My own sweety and I might consider doing a re-commitment ceremony once we have hit some special mark.....15 or 20 years.....by then our daughter will be old enough to particpate.....
