Ok got your attention.... that's "Sick AND Crossdressing".... How many of you will get all femmed up even when you have a cold or the flue???

Reason I'm asking is that I have this great day planned tommorow, and it's in jepordy... Came down with a nasty head cold Friday and figured it would go away by tommorow but it's getting worse.. And i really don't want to waste an opertunity.....

Bought new shoes and all, planned to hit a slot's casino enfemme, lunch at a nice resturant then make my 2 pm appointment with the DNR... Dang..... I'm really getting depressed. Maybe if I play hockey tonight I can sweatit out?? Don't know...

What would you do??

Love Karren

:hugs: aww bless hope your feeling better soon.. We have a thing in the uk that us "men" always have a cold (but its really flu) I dont know if its the same across the pond....My cure is always a nice bottle of uncle jack..... by the time you get to the bottom of the bottle you forget you got a cold...... but the downside is you could feel twice as bad in the morning......I am sure you will do ok... I think you always look great so Im sure a little sneeze wont stop you.....:heehee:

take care az.....

What ever it is, it has gone across north America. I am too weak, and faint, to do do all the work of dressing up. And, at six foot nine, or ten in heels, I don't go out, much, and walking stable, with this wekness, and faintness, I might be on the pavement soon, and what a scene!? I have worked many times sick, like this, been a "man". You sound young, and strong, and may do well, but, count the cost.

You have way too much fun already. Stay home and snifffle. Rudolph the red nose reindeer is so not a good look.

Hi Karren,
I use Cold Ez and Zicam. They seem to work for me. It might not stop your cold, but it can lessen it's severity! Hope everything works out OK!

I'd let common sense rule the day -- only you know how good or bad you feel. I dress daily (but don't go out en feem all that much), but when sick, I forgo make-up, etc., for the most part. I don't think I'd attempt to go out en femme while sick -- don't want to (a.) spread germs, (b.) draw any extra attention to myself b/c I'm snifling and sneezing, (c.) expose myself to other germs while my resistance is down (I told y'all in another post that I'm OCD, so this last point "might" be part of that -- lol).

Hope you feel better soon!

The runny nose, watery eyes, nose blowing is hell on makeup kid - you will enjoy yourself much more when you are healthy. Besides why would you want to spread the misery around? Sneezing and coughing all over will make passing much harder and who wants to be a modern equivalent to Typhoid Mary?

Karren ..... I know how it is to plan a day and have something interfere ..but if your feeling lousy ..get rest and get rid of it.. g/f ...the worlds not gonna stop coz you can't dress .... I've done it before and believe me ..just coz your dressed doesn't make the lousy go away .. matter fact it amplified it.. coz I think our energy levels rise when we dress and if you aint got any .. you end up feeling worse coz your drained of it .. :(

Hey, Karren, I've got a Femmi pair of SGs like that!!! Anyway, since you ask, I really don't like to go femme when I'm sick, the stuffed up head and aches take away the fun. One thing to try though, get some of those daytime cold capsules. Might work for you.....hope so...

That's why some purses (or should I say overnight bags) are so big Karr. You've got room for nose drops, cough medicine, a vaporizer, hot water bottle and lotsa tissues. Honestly, it used to scare the crap out of me what my wife had in hers. So, no excuse not to go out dressed even with a cold.:heehee:

Each of us is different but if I don't stay home and take care of myself, the illness just stays on too long.

Then just think about all those germs that are on the slots. You are already ill and then you could pick up something else. Now I am starting to sound like my mother.

You just need some chicken soup, a couple of asperin, and a good noghts sleep.
A good glass of good orange juice (NOT orange drink) provides vitimin C that will help too.

This weather is bad for everyone... Chile today... Hot tomale!
It's easy to feel a little under the weather this time of year. When I had a bug this year, it was gone in 24-48 hours. But I don't get colds much.

Being sick is no fun. Dressing while sick would really give some of what women go through so you get points for that. But I would get healthy, then go out and tear it up!

Whenever i get crook, (Which is at the moment... stupid Melbourne weather) I feel like the last thing that i want to do is get dressed up, I mean bugger that.. looking the part and what not, then having a bright red nose like rudolf and coughing, sniffing and spitting, blowing my nose louder than a ship's fog horn.... not very lady like is it?

Ok.... I still feel like crap.... I give up... Can't stop sneezing and my head hurts... Maybe I'll take the money I would have lost on the Slot Machines and go shopping... That should make ne feel better!! Or at least not worse.. Lol.

Still hate to miss my annual "meet the ODNR and get femmy in the process" day... Been kind of a tradition!! Hehe But then there's always next year!! And since I get to dress Wednesday night then all is not lost!!

If I could be your mother for a moment, I would say," Karen you cannot go out and play until you get better!" and I would be right.
The coddling side of me says, ok go but just make sure you don't get sicker.

I totally agree, the urge to dress far outweighs any bug I have ever known. But do take care not to get any sicker.

My sympathies. I have not had an illness prevent a day out, but there have been other things. Several times, I have had a weekend to myself only to discover that I was not interested in dressing. Everything was all planned, with new clothes or jewelry. But, I was just not interested. I have no idea why these times occurred because I so anticipated the opportunities. Another time, I showered, dressed and did my makeup and started for the mall. Got all of 1 mile, then turned around, went home, took my makeup off and got undressed. Actually got depressed because of that. There was no obvious pressure to not dress on any of these occasions. I wish I understood things better.
Regards,
Mary

All and all it has been a pretty miserable day.. Sniffle sniffle.. Hehe. Did buy some new makeup, and some jewelry.. Looked at dresses at a Macys in a small mall in St Clairsville Ohio.. Didn't try any on though..

Had my meeting after lunch, and headed back to PA.. Wore my thigh highs and new pumps and clipped on a pair of my new long dandly earrings.. Got quite a few double takes from passing trucks and motorists!! Lol. Had to have sone fun!!

And got back to work, in my jeans and plain top... I usually wear a sports coat and tie... A friend from marketing saw me and said "glad you got all dressed up for work today"... "Well I just took my dress off.... Maybe I should go put it back on for you" I replyed.. I'd like to see that.... Bet you would too.. Hehe

Cough cough

I may be too late to have my opinion influence you in any way, but I would go with or without the sniffles. GGs deal with the sniffles; I think that CDs can too (and should). Of course, when one is seriously ill, the person should stay home, drink plenty of liquids, get extra rest, etc. But it sounds to me as if that isn't or wasn't your case.
So go out, have your usual great time--take the opportunities as they arise.
I hope that it's great.

I have a nasty bug right now - started coming down with it yesterday. Helene took the kids into the city for the day to let me recover. A small part of me flirted with getting some fem time in, but I really did not have the energy.

For me, the equation for CDing is the same as for a crime: means + motive + opportunity. Means is pretty easy, and I can usually create the opportunity. But if the motive is not there, why bother.

Plus...and this I DO know from experience...sniffles do not make for a sexy cd, and it's damn near impossible to keep the makeup job intact!

I'd suggest waiting it out. It's not like you are never able to get out :)

I have gone out with a cold runny nose, sneezes eyes watery. That was OK till I got a cough and when it came there was no way to hide that I was a man in a dress. That cough came from so deep in my chest it made the room shake and would not stop. So go out with a cold or flu but if you start to feel a sore throat stay home and doctor up less you give yourself away.

Well, Karen, I still have a broken knee cap,/w brace from crouch to ankle and I went to your fav place, K-mart and got a new skirt , the matching top didn't fit. But I got 2 real pretty bras to go with the skirt. Their asials are sure small, to get the riding wheelchair down, but I managed...BJ

Karren, this is a bit late, but my recommendation would be to help sweat it out with a steam/hot shower and either a hot toddy or a scotch (or three). Battling a bad cold for a month, tried everything else, then it was the scotch that put it to rest. As for the fun stuff, it gave me time to a: lie in bed in my new pleated gown, and b: shop ebay for more stuff.. :D

I think part of femininity is the feeling we get when we take care of ourselves. Pampering yourself is a big part of that. I hope you stayed in and took a nice long hot bath, tried a new lotion, maybe a new nightie and took care of yourself. Nothing is worse than being sick!
