View Full Version : Shaving "down there"

Hey ladies,
I have been shaving my pubic hair. However, it grows back faster than I'd like and so I was wondering if waxing would be better. I heard a radio show that salons don't mind waxing the pubic area. But I looked around and various places have a list that can be shaved and none have said the pubic and butt area. I'd really like to have a professional wax me because I know I'd probably do it wrong and I don't want pain down there. Has anyone gone to a salon to get her pubic hair waxed?

Not me....my hair is way too coarse for waxing...I'd bleed for days... I shave every morning, never have blotchy red marks etc...if you really want it permanent...try electrolysis :)

I think most of the Spa's can do it. I dated a German woman for a while, she was what is called an (aesthesian?, probably sp). Anyway she said she did "Brazilians" all the time. Apparently a lot of gals down here in Florida like to wear the T-Backs and very brief bikini's, just like the one's they wear on the beaches in Brazil, and that's where the term comes from. When you wear something that brief, it's "Take it off, take it all off!"

Just a quick observation, if you go for a wax job on that pouch that carries, "The Family Jewels", I think you are going to find that to be way painful. There are lots of nerve endings in that area and I think you will find it breathtaking....and then some!

Peace and Love, Joanie

What about Nair or some other type of hair removal cream? Unless the skin is too sensitive and reacts to it, it seems like a good way to go.

It is possible to get that sort of waxing done over here in the UK (casually called a "back, sac and crack"!!!), but not often in female focussed salons. Try a male-only salon - I know that it's not where you might want to go, but that's more often where you'll find that sort of service.

They'll also be more experienced doing it 'down there', which is always a good idea!!!

I have kept my Pubs shaved for years, and like anything else the more you do it the faster it becomes, I can take care of " That Area " faster than I can shave one leg. As far as Nair goes, I've used it but still prefer shaveing, the Nair is not good in the Anal region, beleive me. :2c:

Pink Vanessa,

I've got experience in this area so:

Shaving, tough to get everything, but possible with a mirror and practice (a ladies razor like a Venus will be gentler than a man's razor). Plus, you get lots of thick stubble.

Nair and the like: BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!! Some will say to never use Nair, ever (it'll eventually do permanent damage to your skin), but if you're a little nuts, I say go for it, if it's only very occasionally. But, first time, follow the directions exactly, and test a tiny bit of your skin first. If you're allergic, well, you'll end up in the ER. If the label says leave it on for eight minutes max, DO NOT go over six minutes. You do not want to overdo it with this type of thing.

Clippers and Epilators, STAY AWAY, as it's too easy to tear the sensitive skin down there.

If you then don't get all the hair, wait a few days before you attempt it again. Some girls will say to stay away from Nair products "down there," but if used very sparingly, you can have good results that keeps stubble away for about four-eight days.

Waxing: My choice, but it'll cost you. Not many salons outside of Miami or So. Cal. will work on men "down there", but if you can find a waxer, expect to spend about 75-100 (ask for a Brazilian), plus tip. Yes, there will be pain and discomfort, but nothing gets you smoother, and on me, stubble slowly starts growing back after about two weeks.

Pink Vanessa, if you're interested, PM me and I'll give you the contact info for a top-notch waxer in the Cincy area.

Good luck,

I shave every morning. It is just part of my routine. And if you do it every day you no longer get nicks and bumps. I can't imagine ever having pubic hair again.

I shave that area every other day, religiously, and have been for about the last 12 years. I've got it down to a science to prevent any nicks. Always the best ladies razors and good lubricating shave cream/gel. I shave every bit of hair I can find, I hate body hair. I've been blessed, however, with a naturally hairless chest and back. I also shave my arms, though when it does grow, it's so light and thin, it's barely visible. I can get by not shaving my legs for up to a week, too.

I've been shaving that area for the last 14 months using a Venus lady razor and I have recently tried a new product Johnson's shower and shave which gave a really close shave and reduced the chance of nicks. Using wax gives me red hair folicals for a few days afterwards.

I shave every morning, routine, in-fact I look forward to it. Great way to start the day. I do have my chest and back waxed about every 5-6 weeks.

Very helpful information in this thread, I've always used a razor but now I will attempt to shave down there by means of an alternate method.

For those considering waxing, you might want to look at this story from the files: http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28185
I can't read it without falling out of my chair laughing.

I used to shave everything "down there" but got tired of having to do this almost every other day or so to prevent the stubble. With a bit of searching in my area, I found a salon that does "full body" waxing. When I went in to find why they meant about "full body" they told me that they meant "FULL BODY" which is exactly what I was looking for.
Now she also explained the she didn't do "Brazilian". At the time, not being too bright I asked her to define what she meant. She explained in delicate terms about not waxing "the crack".
After going to her, every siz or seven weeks, for the last two years, I've sorta gained her trust, in that I'm not there for any other reason than to be "defuzzed". Over time I've noticed that when waxing in "that" area she's been getting closer and more, (what's the word?) intimate? with her work. My last wax appointment resulted in removal of every hair "there" including the area around my,....well, you know what I mean.
Not as bad as you would think, in terms of "slight discomfort"

I've been shaving my whole body for a very long time and haven't had any problems for many years. I recently switched to a Quattro for Women and think it's great. I firmly believe that the choice of razor does make a difference.

If are gonna shave it all then please try the Fusion safety razor. It has 5 close and sharp blades eliminating those red spots. Never a cut or a nick either.
I recommend doing it in a hot Bubble bath with bath salts to soften the water.

I no longer shave it all. Who else is going to see it. That clean shave also feels like a porcupine in my pants for a few days too.

I prefer a hox wax removal when I can afford one.

None of my outfits expose my bare shoulders and back and I don't do cleavage.

Just a simple farm girl!

I just shave and its not a problem... Let it grow back in every so often and get out the hair color... Is she or isn't she a natural blonde..... And red's always cute too!! :D

I don't need to shave down there unless I wanted to be hairless like a porn star. And I would never wax anywhere!

I've been shaving for years after trying to wax myself. It wasn't a good thing. I don't have any problems shaving except you need to maintain it.

Yes I shave pretty much evryday to keep a nice bikini line. I don't shave it all but I mostly wear bikini and thong style panties and don't like the thought of hair impeding on the look. I also shave my chest, like it smooth and silky.

I want to do this but I don't know the best way. I get terrible red & itchy bumps. And I heard you shouldn't use those hair remover creams there. I have hair going halfway up the weiner to put it mildly. What can I do?

LisaRose

I did that once, will never do it again. The red bumps were so bad they bled. The best I can tell you is that I've discovered using hair clippers works ok. The cut is not close enough to go below the skin, hence no bumps. It does require clipping mor often though.

BTW what's a weiner? Are you talking Oscar Myer?

I shave it all and have no problems. I did get the bumps on my upper thigh right at the groin, but that was from shaving against the growth of the hairs.

Now that I think of it, it's time for a bath and a shave! :D

I bought a battery-powered trimmer. It has 3 attachments. One for the eyebrow, one for the nose and ears, and one more. I use this to take care of the genital area. It hasn't cut me yet. Yea the hair grows back but it beats the old fashioned shaving way of doing things.

Shaving in the pubic region can be tricky! I recommend trying my Dry Shaving (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=535591#post535591) technique.

For this sensitive area, it's probably best to use an unmodified razor, especially in those regions you can't see. And use plenty of talc. Do not attempt to remove all hair on the first session. Wait a couple of days before going after those strays.

With this method, it's almost impossible to nick yourself, and shaving rashes & ingrown hairs are also much reduced, if not eliminated entirely.

I don't remove all my pubic hair, I just give it a more feminine outline. A hair-free scrotum & perianal area helps things to stay put when tucking.

You may want to try Bikini formula Nair...works great if used according to directions and seems to inhibit growth, or in my case it has...
