Listen to this...... driving to work to start night shift, I tuned in to a popular Melboune (Australia) Sports Radio show... what i heard was a heated debate about some CD guy who was outed on the radio by his local football (Aussie rules - not that crappy gridiron stuff) team mates!!!!

It seems that a few weeks ago, the footy team had a night out .... this CD guy (up until that stage was still in the closet) and a fw of his mates go out dressed as women (for a bit of a laugh)... however, later on in the night, the guy admits to his teammates that dressing up is what he likes to do!!! So anyway, he's suddenly out there to his macho teammates and he thinks everything is pretty cool...... until tonight.... one of his teammates rings up the radio show (apparently there was talk-back topic about women in sport) and describes how down at Nunawading footy club we have a transexual playing in our team (after some questioning, they found out that he wasn't trans-gender but a cross-dresser).... the guy didn't mention the name of the CD, but he did name the footy club.

So the CD in question found out that he had been exposed on air... so he rings up and goes on the front foot - mentions his own name and describes how it is his choice to dress how he wants... how dare anyone divulge his lifestyle choice and that he is going to quit the club etc.....

It was interesting to hear the radio host's comments, one of them clearly said to him repeatedly that your lifestlye choice is yours and good on you for it and that you shouldn't quit footy blah blah blah.... the other host clearly was dead-set against the idea and almost came across as a bigot.

It seems to me that this CD'er may not quite have been ready to come out (certainly not in this fashion).... perhaps he got caught up in the dress-up night with his team-mates... one drink too many????? and voila... he's out there!

Did anyone else in Melbourne (or Adelaide, as i believe it is broadcast there too) hear the show??? The station was SEN.

Well good on him for addressing the station and the people who thought it was fun to tell the whole audience what his habits were. That took more guts than any of them had I'll bet. Good story thanks for sharing that.

Makes me wonder how many of his "mates" who participated in "dress up night" still are dressing in the closet???

Hi Derminator,

I think Holly said it best. I definately agree with your comment on Aussie rules football. I think the players are in better physical shape than the 300 pound American football players and they don't wear any padding to protect themselves. The players also don't get breaks to rest up on the sidelines, they are in constant motion.

Love and Hugs,
Priscilla

That's quite a story. So the moral seems to be "Be sure who you're telling when you talk about yourself". I've been very lucky when I've told people about me.

I love Holly's comment! How many of the team are "closeted" CD'ers. I applaude the guy for defending herself on the radio. We need more ambassadors like that.

Has footy training started yet????

Wonder how he'll go??

I have always favoured stilleto heels for good traction.

If he needs any support, I'm not far away.
