Well the lasty two days have been interesting for sure.... Today I'm setting in my office and a couple young engineers come in and say "the scanner quality stinks".... So I get up and take a look.... The head and wheels are all black and goopy ....... "Hold on a second" I say as I head back to my office.... Grab my purse under my desk and take out a small bottle of nail polish remover.. And head back.
"Here use this". As I hand them the bottle... Sure enough it works like a charm and the scanner is up and running!! Never told them why I have nail polish remover!! Keep um guessing!! Lol. They probably know.....
I was out last week and Monday monring when I got to work I opened my desk drawer and found my paycheck... In with a bunch of my neclkaces and earrings that I had left there last week.. Looked like they had been moved out of the way too.... I assume it was put there by our new secretary, J.. (our group changed reporting structure to the operations group 2 floors down)
So yesterday afternoon I was at my desk and was just folding a pink top that I had bought the other day and in walks J with a big box of supplies, looks at me holding the pink top and says "cute".. Then goes on to say she brought me some supplies and plans to get me some special items and did I need anything... just ask...... BTW, She is tall and cute and spunky!! :) She also said that since we are in her group now, don't be surprised to find her working on my laptop and listening to my radio since she doesn't have a radio... She mentioned something about sharing.... "Any time you want to, J". Hehe
I 99% sure she knows...... And seems to be cool with it or with me... She also has great fashion sense... Love heeled boots... And did I mention tall?? Lol
And finally got a call from a female coworker and friend from the IT dept and she said that the head of her dept had asked her to check this out and it was kind of "off the wall"... Sure come on up!! Now I'm getting a big lump in my throat... Thinking that they have discovered me and my online activities.... So I'm kind of freaking out a bit when she walks in and sets down.... "Love your shoes" I say... Hehe... "Thanks... This is off the wall but....". Then goes on to ask me about mining software.....and why the execs are interested in what we use and why..... WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!
False alarm!!
Turned out to be a great week so far!! Except for the raging snow storm which canceled my enfemme outting today!!! Ohh well....
Love Karren

Karren i know you like the on the edge thingy ..... i would not be too surprised to be reading a busted at work thread from you .... now when that happens are you ready for everyone at work to know ??? sooner than latter the pieces have to be put together and i see a huge outing coming your way....

I agree with Wendy, it's only a matter of time until you get busted at work. But something tells me you want to, at least with the women. From all the things you've posted I'd say you are a pretty good topic for gossip amongst the women you work with so I'm guessing it'll be no big deal when they find out for sure. I'm waiting for the "Karen goes for lunch with the girls" thread!

Karren,
I agree with Wendy. I love reading of your adventures but I can't help but be concerned that you're getting too close to the edge, and daring to yourself to inch a little closer all the time. As much as we are all entertained and emboldened by your adventures, we'd all hate to see this end badly! Be careful!!!
I thought about you the other day when I had my own "too close for comfort" incident. I was in a thrift store that I frequent. I was in drab, except I was wearing a bra and enhancers under a light sweater-like pullover. Luckily I had just picked up a pair of insulated coveralls when in walks a guy I know from work. He's an obnoxious loudmouth. If he'd noticed, I'd be ruined. Luckily I was able to hold the coveralls over my chest enough to cover up without looking too obvious. He stood there and talked for what seemed like forever. I wondered if he noticed something and was trying to stay long enough that he might get a better look. To make matters worse, I was standing in the women's clothing section.
I suppose he didn't notice anything, because I've never heard anything about it. Could have been a disaster!
We're all probably guilty of getting too close to the edge. Karren is testing the integrity of the substrate. We all want to see you come back, so you can tell us about the view out there!

Karren, I could not believe your start to the week, but I am suprised to hear that you: a: have necklaces/earrings in your desk, b: have your purse under your desk, c: have your new pink top in your office! This sounds like a story just waiting to happen. As for the new help, J might be lots of fun. As always you do keep us amused and amazed. Sorry about the snow fall, it must have come from here. Its still snowing. I'm waiting for the April showers!:D

I think it will play out some day... maybe more of whimper than a bang..... or like "everybody knows" type thing and no one really cares.... I hope... For a "conservative" company in a "conservative" industry we have had our share of sex changes and gays over the years, before they were generally accepted..... All handled well, which my hat's off to our HR dept...
I have so many fem things in and around me everyday that if they don't suspect then they just think I'm femish... lol

Hi Karren,
The limits are yours to explore, but tread lightly. We like you too much to enjoy reading about your outing. There could be implications that reach far beyond your workplace.
Be careful,

Indeed there are things to explore.... draw back and explore how to get back to where you are.
On the other hand, I think that you think that everybody, while not knowing will not be too surprised. I think that you should not be too surprised to find out that that is not what they think about. Indeed they will be surprised, if they find out. You see, you are used to the edge living and they do not know that your ledge is there in the office.
PS, I found your pic in my files... its gone for your birthday greetings.

As always, I loved reading your post Karen.
You spoke of what was in your desk drawer and must have been seen by others. Just yesterday I was repairing an instrument at a customers. Nothing unusual about that except I had another engineer there from my company to "learn from me". LOL - what I could teach him!
Anyway, we needed a cable I carry in my laptop case so I flip it over, open it up, and am greeted by not only the handfull of cables and adapters I carry, but also by an eyeliner pencil and two pair of ear rings! I had missed them when I was packing up my hotel in Indianapolis and so I had just tossed them into my laptop case and forgot about them. LOL I'm 95% sure he didn't notice them but it sure sent my heart off on a merry little jog!
Say, if I get fired do you suppose your company needs someone in instrumentation and metrology? :)

Karren,
Since the inquiry came from someone in the IT department, that may indicate they're asking about data mining software to track and monitor employees' online activities. I know you're in the mining business but when I saw IT and mining software, a flag went up.
Be careful, unless, you want to get outed.
Hugs,

Karren -- Be very careful. I worked for a company with nearly 3,000 employes at our location. Lots of computers in the building. Yet, our MIS was able to track activity on any one of those computers at any time. And they could watch your screen as you worked from their computers.

I just flipped the lights on so the mines are still running!! Plus the stock went up 10% the last two days!! Ergo I must be working really hard!! Hehe.
And Kim, as long as you don't mind working underground and getting dirty!! Look at it this way....... Free permenant eyeliner!! :)
Sherrie... I don't use any company related PC's to do anything online that isn't business related, over the company network... Our IT Police have most sites blocked... Have hit the firewall a few times but they were for non-TG related issues and were in error on their part which I gladelky pointed out to them and they changed the rules.. . Keep no personal files on my drives... I do know what their capabilities are because a friend told me that on a sweep they found porn on a coworkers pc.. He's still here btw...

Like the rest of your loyal fans, I admire your pics and videos and enjoy the stories of your exploits. I have to agree with some of the concerns expressed by some of the other girls. Jewellery in your drawer? A pink top in your office??? Fruedians would say you want to be outed!!
Hey, I am not sthrowing stones from a glass house. I went to meetings at HQ today, had the earliest cancelled, so went to HQ, parked, and went across the street to the which includes an office tower where the next person I am meeting is located. I wandered in 45 minutes early for my appointment, check out the costume jewellery, then... a PAYLESS SHOES that I have never shopped at. Quick right turn .... O M G !!! They have, like, 4 rows of SIZE 12 SHOES!!! OH, OH, a great pair of black open-toed sling-backs with about 2 1/2" heels. Red Tag: $17.99!!! I was going to take them to check-out, then thought, "where am I going to carry these?" Mental note: "return later for shoes". I walk out of the store and , "HI!!" The hot red-head receptionist from Corporate Affairs! I tell her that I have worn out my Reeboks (true), but nothing on sale (true, I think). Whoa!! Talk about a wake-up call!
I understand, and admire, living on the edge, but be careful how much you risk relative to the thrill. Hugs, w.

You know,it all sounds like it was a risky situation there for awhile but it's surprising the things that people actually don't notice or pay close attention to.Like especially if they're half-tired or in a hurry. But then,Karren, you say that your company has had TS and Gay people over the years.Which brings to mind that it would be interesting to be in a motel lobby or dentist office in Wheeling or Pittsburg or anyplace in Central Pa.,Southern Ohio or West Virginia and to pick up a copy of something along the lines of "Suburban Allegheny Living","Pittsburg Life" or maybe "Corporate Pennsylvania in Action" and to sit down and read about "crossdressing CEO in a reddish Auburn Wig and a mini-skirt turns the wheels of progress for his/her bosses".I'm glad you didn't get outed because there's always the doldrums of explaining yourself and your behavior to people who's tolerance of diversity is sometimes stuck way back in the 40's and the 50's and probably just wouldn't get crossdressing. But if it happens,be like when the 3 stooges fell down in a bathtub and decided that it isn't a total loss so they took a bath.Think of the PR from those coffee table magazines. All the Best,Samantha

I think you need to cool it. There's too many stories of some idiot boss cutting you for being a freak. CD'ers aren't protected in many areas. Even if you are, if the big boss is a homophobe, your career is in question.

I can see Karren's picture in the company newsletter with a story about how the company support diversity. :D
On a serious note, I will be careful about which websites I access while I am at work. I just read an article about how Walmarts monitor all computer activities in the company network, including a TiVo like program that can "play back" which website someone accessed.

I think I'm with MSJanessa on this , I think "J" knows or at least thinks she does and I think you have an friend there. Maybe the others are too wraped up in their own affairs, but from what I've seen or your pics, Having another great looking girl in the office can't hurt either. If your going to work dressed as a woman then keep doing it as it appears they don't mind you doing that.
Keep us posted

Karen,
Since joining the forum, I enjoy reading all the threads and everyone adventures. Since you like the edge as everyone calls it, are you ready for the next step? Sounds like many similar cases have come out at your business with out any problems, but this may not be the case for you. Are you ready to go find another job, if things are NOT accepted as you think they may? I say clear out the girly things for a long while to see where this is going, if your not so sure of a positive outcome. You are in the best spot to determine that. Just be extra careful.

Karren -- Glad you don't use company computer for your adventures! As for the other things, hey, "that lipstick in my drawer is my wife's as a little reminder of her love for me." Or that eyeliner, "The charcoal black eyeliner in my laptop case I use to mark dimensions down in the mine."
Why am I telling you these excuses? I bet you could come up with a million ones a million times better.

I've read only a few threads so far, but as far as I'm concerned for that (maybe) fateful day when the rest of the world finds out about Karren. After all, you are out there on the edge.
Nobody will handle it better than our dear friend Karren.
I know a few miners from PA anthracite country and I can't help but think does he look as good as you do in a dress:idontknow:.
Can't wait for the next adventure
