Sitting her grooving on Lorenna McKinnett, thinking of all the things that pissed me off, now just feeling mellow. So many threads I wanted to respond too but didn't. Feeling so out of touch with the general conversations, hot this and sexy that....gimme a break;) . What really mad me angry was reading the posts of new CDers wanting to be honest with their SO's, but that certain "SO" wanted a 'REAL MAN". So sad. No one is born knowing what a "real Man" is, someone had to corrupt that concept in their minds. I wanted to post pictures on the forum confronting this issue, but it was so against the general theme here I figured it was a bad idea, but that's ok. To all the new crossdressers I wish a hearty welcome, and things aren't as bad as I/we thought they were.

What's a rant worth? Really? Released pressure? From what? Rant on.... ;)

Maria I'm probably not supposed to say this but I really have those moments where I would love to put things on pause around here and say wtf is going on?
I do not have that luxury to the extent I may wish sometimes, but it does happen and I feel out of sorts myself trying to figure out the best way to handle something. I'll get upset and just log off, or go do something somewhere else. Only a few times that has happened so it doesn't really bother me too much. But somethings I would like to say and don't out of respect. I hate stereotypes and can't stand when people are hurting and all I can do for them is type words into a computer and submit text. The magic there is together we respond and that person comes back and sees all the support and smiles (as I have too) That's one thing that makes it all worth while to be here. Ok my rant's over :o

Maria Hon,

Just rant on girl. We all have to rant sometimes and it is your time. I hear you and know where you are coming from. I don't post as often as I would like to because I have a communication problem and I would probably get kicked off if I said what I want to at times. Enough!

Here's a positive rant (dont' get used to it though - there's still plenty of politics for me explode over:rolleyes:)

When this site started to get really big a couple of months ago, I noticed some changes that inevitably happen when something gets big enough to be easily found: The perverts and hate breeders started showing up. I got worried that yet another awesome thing was going to be ruined because it got too big. What I've noticed with forums is that they usually nosedive into a marketplace of spam and trashy porn - as what happened in another forum I used to belong to. That one was about cars so the material wasn't the same but the trend was.

To everyone's credit (especially Julie's and Tristen's) these punks got an earful from the serious members here and were (and still are) run off with their tales between their legs before they could breed and take over the board. The proactive approach to keeping everything in its place (personals in the personals, off-topic in the lounge) has really helped people easily identfy these people and let them know as a community they weren't welcome.

Bravo:cool:

Proactive! One of my favorite words! Maria, expressing one's frustrations, concerns, successes, triumphs, questions, etc. is what this forum is all about. So, as long as these items are in good taste (hope Crispy's not hungry right now), I say - GO FOR IT! We will respond with our usual wonderful advice and support (in my case, SAGE responses (LOL)). We are all here for each other.

Well I for one am not going to let that happen, and most of this forum feels the same way. No matter how many try to get things turned over that way, the only thing that should grow bigger is our bond. Together we stand devided we fall. If there's a problem I'm here to help.

Hi Maria,

I have also been feeling depressed and angry for the last few days but, by talking about what's bothering you with our sisters is ,for me, the best therapy. I get very angry when I see the bigotry and stereo typing in the world. On this forum we can at least talk about these things .
As for the perverts, I have seen some posts that do'nt seem quite right and we all know there are some lurkers. Fortunately they are found out rather fast and are dealt with before they can do too much harm. These people piss me off so much that I would love to have 10 seconds with them alone ; they would have to be carried off.

BIG HUG,
Priscilla

Ok here's one of those days again. This is a growing issue and it keeps getting out of hand. There are sections in this forum. There are threads with actual topics. These topics are going to remain on spot and in the appropriate section or they will be moved where they belong. Everytime a thread turns to play it will be sent to the lounge. If it's for meeting people or making contacts to meet people, it belongs in the personals. If we do not start directing this forum accordingly then pretty soon there might as well not be any sections or any topics. I'm not playing. If you want to play fine, but do it in the right section. I'm not getting lead into this anymore, and a lot of people are being discouraged. If you're not, then all you should be doing is not letting things get out of hand (This means continuing the topics off the thread and into wherever) The forum will remain. That's why I am here to keep it the way it has been. Many of you are behind me on this. Do your part to help keep it real.

No problem Tristen! You've got my vote for that too. Lets keep stuff on the rails here the best we can! :)

There's nothing wrong with a good healthy rant once in a while! It's healthy to let these things out - Were here for you girl!

Feeling so out of touch with the general conversations, hot this and sexy that....gimme a break;) .
I couldn't agree more. Lately, the forum seems to be dominated by lighter fare, which is fine, but there's also quite a bit of low-brow / fantasy / escapist / obsessive-compulsive stuff that is causing a number of members to question the viability of the forum. We all love to laugh and enjoy pics, etc, and there's nothing wrong with having fun — in fact it's essential — but I hope we can also resume more serious threads as an ongoing collective dialogue that helps us all to constructively solve problems, better understand important issues, project positive personalities and successfully integrate feminine expression within the larger context of healthy, satisfying lives.

And please y'all, let's try to keep a lid on the spurious posting. It is not necessary or desirable to post to every thread just to hear yourself talk, and doing so only cheapens the forum experience for the rest of us. The few of you who are abusing the system ceased to be interesting or amusing a long time ago. What you do in the playful threads is your business, but when you encounter a serious discussion, if you don't have something substantive to add to what has already been said, do us all a favor and zip it.

What really mad me angry was reading the posts of new CDers wanting to be honest with their SO's, but that certain "SO" wanted a 'REAL MAN". So sad.
I can certainly understand the frustrations of this kind of situation, but honestly, I think the SOs have a right to their feelings. Resenting them isn't going to accomplish anything. All I have to do to understand how they feel is to imagine my GG SO wanting to be a hairy-legged man. That would be a struggle for me. Some women will never be able to handle CDing. For those who are willing to try, we have to respect how difficult it is for them.

Well, look gals, this is a *PUBLIC* forum. People are going to say mean things that hurt you, nice things that help you, and nice things that offend you anyway... People have said mean things to me, but I don't care. I'm not going to go away because someone looked at me funny.

Tristen's job is to moderate, not be a parental authority figure. Her job is to keep out blatent pornography, bad language, and obvious trolls... She's not here to direct personalities or points of view. If it's about crossdressing, it's clean, it's OK...

Nor do I think Tristen should spend time moving topics and posts around. If a thread goes off topic, ignore it and it will trickle down... Or bring it back in line with USEFUL info...

There are things about this board that I don't like.. but there's more to like here than not. Some of you have become my bestest friends! :)

I'd like to suggest a few changes, if Tristen agrees...

I'd like to see a section on 'technical crossdressing', where we can post techniques and howtos... Dana's nail pics would fit perfectly there. Makeover pics, padding howtos, product reviews, etc.

Tristen, can you assign trusted moderators to certain categories? That would reduce your work...

Also, I'd like to suggest we each keep our own threads. I'd like to create an Ava thread and post everything about me there, outings, pics, etc. Instead of creating a new thread each event.... Tristen, can we create a section for 'my thread'?'

I think Tristens workload here is too much as of late...... and I think she could do with some more moderators here to help her. She spends more of her time moving posts around...... answering PM's all the time...... and it's about time some of you girlz volunteered to help her out and msg admin!!! She does a great job here and she knows we all apreciate her, but come on girlz.... it's far too much for one to manage......

Just my 2p :)

Tamara xI volunteer, for real.. If I can as a GG....
I have stepped back, not by choice, but because it seems this has really gotten out of control and I see Tristen trying so hard to keep up.
I want to keep this forum the was it way suppose to be, but as of late, it seems that things are getting a bit crazy. I want, as you Tamara, to offer help as I can, from a GG point of view, but to be honest, I am not sure who or what to respond to anymore...

I would volunteer too...... but I'm not sure how people would feel about a GG moderator of a CD forum..... there are plenty here I think would make good moderators... but it's up to them to offer.....

Which has been very helpful actualy, all the replies have been helpful. I think the correct thing for me to do is create my own web site where I can express to my hearts content, and put my ideas across a little more succinctly. Then if I run across a topic I feel compelled to participate in I can post a link to a relevent page. Thanks everyone :)

I have only been reading this forum for a couple of months but things really seem to have gone downhill recently. The balance between fun items and the more serious stuff seems to have gotten out of hand and I personally have been disheartened to contribute much more as the whole atmosphere of the forum seems to have suddenly changed. I too contribute this trend to this forum having become too successful with too many members so the forum is getting swamped.

I dont want to discourage anyone from not joining here so I think the best solution is to create yet another forum devoted to the more serious and insightful topics which cding unfortunately creates in all our lives, as well as technical topics and leave the light-hearted topics to the main forum.

I also agree that Tristen needs more help. I am quite comfortable with a gg moderator too - in fact this new forum would be more informative to our gg members too.

It is a relief that I am not alone in seeing this. I really want this forum to become my long term home and we should react and make changes where necessary to keep the wide spectrum of members happy. Well thats my rant over!

Oh I have been keeping up. Maybe I make it seem harder than it is, but I do tend to ask for opinions from everyone and wait for reactions before I do anything. Takes alittle time that way. I would trust an experienced member who has been here to see how things work, to help out for certain. A GG is more than welcome Tamara. I was hoping to continue the self moderating part of this forum. That tends to make everyone feel more involved and a part of things. Although decisions have to be made. I have no problem making them on my own, though I wanted to get our standards clear. I think we all agree on how things should be done here, so my rant is over. Thanks for listening. And sorry for using your thread Maria ;)

I glad my thread brought this topic out Tristan, I've been following the conversation on this from the Lounge and here. I wanted to suggest the same thing Helana has, the M to F section has gotton so huge, and there is a wide diversity of sub topics within MTF. I wanted to show this one php based forum I hang out as an example and it doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to see the corolation between it's subject and ours. http://www.zzr1200.net/modules.php?name=Forums

It has the broader catagories as does this forum, but the ZZR1200 is by far the most popular, and it is broken down into subforums;

General Disscussion...(duh)

Tech Forum; for makeup howtos, figuring out what size femwear you would need to buy, wig care., hair removal.....

Gear and Upgrades; talk about shapers and waist nippers, breast forms, corsets rubber butts, shoes, dresses.......

Road Trips; talk about our outings

and on it goes, and there are 7 moderators for 3500 registered users v 1 here for over 6000!!! I've been checking the vbulliten web site, can't see why it's not doable and if it got organized a bit more I would readly volunteer to help moderate,

Just a thought.
