I just got off the phone with my Dr and I finally got a date to see a Dr. who deals with transgendered people. It's on the 5th of July in Ottawa. I hope all goes well and he recommends that I go on HRT immediatley. Seems like it's taking forever but at least I'm heading in the right direction. I can't wait.:D

As a Canadian myself, even though I live in LA right now, I'd be interested to hear your experience.

Here, it took me no time at all to see an endochronologist. Just under a month. That long just because he sees trans patients only one day per month. But he thinks the Harry benjamin standards are outdated and all it took was a bunch of money. $600 for the consult and over a year about $2,000.00. Here they treat older patients (I'm 55) with implanted time release pellets as this is felt to be safer.

But they are more costly than pills. But then that's wjat the US Medical system is about. Money. As a Canadian I notice when someone rails on here about "socialized medicine" but compared to the average US HMO, Canadians have it good.

Yay! I'm so happy for you! And I'm glad you're doing this the right way by seeing a doctor about it first.

I grew so anxious having to wait the month and a half for my first visit. Now I meet with my doctor next week for my 2 month checkup. Now for me I'm excited about my results and look forward to the doc upping my dosage!

Hi 5, uh, I mean, HUGS! (Still some Testosterone in me, hee hee!)
