View Full Version : Not so lucky this time…..Out and about in Wheeling, WV

Well started out like most of my mornings out, pre-dressed with my lingerie, stopped at my favorite rest area. I had put in my breast forms in the car and had just taken exactable what I needed in a tote but had no room for my purse so just swung it over my shoulder and went in. Just about bumped into the female janitor on the way in, she gave me that “look” and when I got in the restroom I figured out why. I looked like a short haired girl in guy’s clothes. So changed and headed down the road towards Wheeling. Bought some new stick-on nails and didn’t have time to paint them, so stuck them on in the car and they looked really natural so I skipped the paint.

Arrived at the Wheeling Island Casino at 8:15, and walked in the front door and up the escalator to the main floor. Not real busy yet but people were streaming in fairly constantly. Passed the security guard as I entered the slot machine area, flashed him a smile and received a “morning maam” Walked around the floor for a few minutes and took a few photos, then found my favorite type of machine and started to feed the beast. People coming and going, no one paid me the much attention. The drink lady came over and gave me a cup off coffee, came back and refilled it many times which of course made me need to use the ladies room. And what a beautify one it was, the prettiest one I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen quite a few. Hehe

Took a few breaks to explore the place, it is huge inside. Went to a small café and bought a diet coke. Everyone was so friendly, staff and patrons alike. I did notice that I was the only person in the place in a skirt. Go figure!! And it didn’t bother me one bit!!! Played a dozen machines around the floor, most 25 cent ones and hit one jackpot for $20 but that went fairly quickly. Ended up loosing $50 over 3 hours but loosing enfemme is way better than wining anything in drab!! Was going to stay and have lunch at one of the many restaurants but ran low on cash.

I took photos about everywhere and no one really cared. One lady asked “you are taking a snapshot of yourself?” Yes I replied, going to sent it to the kids and show then where I’ve been (so technically you all are now my kids!! Hehehe) On my way out, I was taking some photos around a fountain and a guy walked through as the flash went off. He came back and was apologizing all over the place. Told him, that’s not a problem, people are part of the scenery.

After I left I went over to Wheeling, to their historic walk along the Ohio River and took a few photos and a movie or two. A few people around but there was this one strange looking guy kept following me around. Kind of creeped me out so I finally left and headed back to change and back to work for my afternoon meeting.

Don’t know really know what people though of me, but then again don’t really care either. I would hope it was, a well dressed, friendly and cuteish person. May not have been lucky at gambling but I had just a wonderful time!! I’m definitely going back, probably in 2 weeks when I have a conference over that way. The only way to spend a half day of vacation!! Hehe

What fun! I'm going to have a chance to get out in May and I'm thinking about going to a casino and going out to eat--two things that I've never done en femme before. You've helped to inspire me.
Your pictures are wonderful and you look terrific!

I have tought that going out enfemme to the casinos in Reno or Vegas would be easier for a first outing. It may be crowded but most people have had a few drinks and are concentrating on the games not if that is a man in a dress.
I would like to try this late night next time in Reno.

Well I'm ahead today.... Sears wanted to replace the rear brakes and rotarts on the Solara.... $325!!! Just did it my self for $60.... Sooooo $325 - $60 -$50 = $215!!! I can parlay that into a fortune next time!! hehe

I love that suit you were wearing in the casino, Karren.

Thanks KarenSusan..... Jaclynn Smith from Kmart... On clearence last spring for $10 total!!! The 3/4 sleeves could be a tade longer and the knit top I had on I had to keep pulling the sleves down.... To hide my arms more.. Though I did bleach my arm hair and trim them last week... Which helps a lot...

Karren... I always like your adventures. It sounds like you had a really good time.

I didn't know WV had anything like that. My SO... x-SO... SO... Whatever... Her last husband (deceased) was born there and a lot has changed over the years.
It looks like Maryland is going to allow gambling now too. I don't know if that's good or bad. Probably just cause taxes to go up again. (Maryland is over-budget, as usual... Like all of us... We spend more than we have... Always in debt.)

:hugs:

Any-way... I love it. If I could only compete with your adventures...........

There is a casino and track at Wheeling Island and another larger casino just north i Fallensby called.... Mountaineer... what else.. lol Now that PA has slots, there are building two large casinos withing 10 minutes of my house...

Casino's are great places to crossdress.... One) they want your money... Two) people there are friendly Three) all the patrons are concerned about their gambling so they pay you less attention!!! What could be better!!! A venue made to crossdressing!!!

First, let me say you look great in those pictures.

One question though. I live in West Virgina and one of my biggest fears about going out is being discovered by somebody who shall we say is not as open minded about crossdressing. Other than that one guy following you, have you ever had a problem in West Virginia while dressed? Also, what about when you talk to people, do you try to change your voice to make it sound more feminine?

Thanks!!!

My voice stinks... I just talk quieter... I swung through the McDonalds drive through after I left the Casino, ordered with my regular voice... the change lady was very friendly and the order lady smiled and wished me a great day... Which I did have BTW lol

Never had a problem, mater of fact everyone has been really friendly.... Guys holding the door for me and all.... But I do choose my venues carefully!! Not going to the local gun shop on a Friday night... hehe And I have crossdressed and gone out in Charleston, Elkview, Flatwoods, Beckley, Summersville, Wheeling, Moundsville, Wierton, Morgantown, and Bluefield with out a single incidence..... Over a 3 year period....

Karen,

I also forgot to mention that I think you're very brave for going out in some of those cities. Beckley? Summersville? I wouldn't feel safe there wearing panties under my drab clothes.

Ok, you sent me wikipedia to educate myself. I had never heard that term before, but being a canuck, and "younger" I can understand why. For other noobs like me:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCarthyism#Laws_and_arrests
"Suspected homosexuality was also a common cause for being targeted by McCarthyism"

I actually spent some time in W. Va back in 2002 on a project. There was a KKK rally while I was there (peaceful), and in the neighbouring KY I spent some time with THE definitive rednecks (contractors on the project). Other than that, it was a nice place to visit.

One time, many years ago, I broke down near Kinder, La. Great town, fixed me up in a couple of hours and I was on my way back up north to New England.

Laura

The Walmart in Summersville is a great store to crossdress as are all the hotels and a few shops.. and love the Beckley Mall.... Now I wouldn't feel safe going out enfemme in Logan or Mingo Counties, where Marcie lives!!! Hell I wouldn't feel safe going there in drab in daylight!!

I've been all over WV, KY, Western VA and Ohio enfemme.... and in places you would think are not friendly.... where the coal is.... but again I have had no problem. I think it's not because I look 100% like a woman because I don't and know it. but I go in places with an attitude that says I belong there, dressed as I am... and I think it either puts enough doubt in peoples minds that I could be a woman or at first glance I look womanish enough that they don't question their first impressions.... I don't really know. Maybe next time I'll ask someone that question!! hehe

I'm originally from MI but I lived in WV for 6 years..... Talk about culture shock... Didn't go out enfemme then. For sure the people are the friendliest in the world.... but if you weren't born there your always an outsider....

Ive played table games in Atlantic City enfemme, you get a few looks but as long as you are friendly you're usually in good shape.

Karen, I said it before, when I grow up I want to be just like you!
You make this seem so easy and it's really not but you have fun doing it and that's all that matters. I spent some time in West Virginia many years ago as I had a good friend that lives in Shinnston, we kind of lost touch over the years though but I wouldn't think West Virginia would be so accomodating for a crossdresser. How do you take so many pictures, it looks as if you had someone take them for you? I get inspired to go out and about everytime I read of your escapades, please keep them coming.

What I like about you, Karren, is exactly your attitude. And, I think you have rightly put your finger on the important point. Gotta have that attitude! That attitude can say a lot of things, but one of them must be, "I belong here." If it is said emphatically with your dress and body language, few people are likely to have any questions, let alone act on them.

Now, I can just see Karren Hutton, Inc., a West Virginia tourguide company, with its CEO and namesake leading contingents of nicely dressed ladies throughout the hills and to all the sights in Ol' Wes' Virginny. Actually, it sounds like fun!
Regards,
Mary
