I am not that adventurous when it comes to me dressed in public, but I did do something I considered stupid at the time a few weeks ago. I was rushing to get to my hair cut, not wanting to miss my appointment and forgot how I was dressed. When I got to my hairdresser's place, I realized that I had on a black nylon mock turtleneck top. These are usually androgenous except that all of mine have back neck zippers. My fleece vest hid it from public view, but my hairdresser would obviously see it. Being committed to getting my haircut, I figured I was in for a rough half hour. We talked as we normally would through the whole haircut almost as though she didn't notice it. As she was getting done, and trimming my neck, I noticed that she very carefully folded the back of the mock neck down and was taking more time than usual triming. She never missed a beat in our conversation though and I tried not to either, but I know I was blushing bright red. When she finishe, she straightened it back out and sort of smoothed it gently against my neck still not missing a word in our conversation. I was very embarrased, but she didn't register any discomfort at all. She was wonderfull about it. I probably won't make that error again, but if I do, or if I am faced with a decision to either change my top or sweater or be late......I'll probably be late.

Heck, I'd be planning to step it up a bit the next time! :p
Seriously though, dress however you feel comfortable.

All that worrying for nothing. I'm growing my hair out have foil highlights, going to tell my stylist to soften the cut and make it more fem, I am who I am, and if it makes me happy I don't have a problem, other might but thats THEIR problem

That fear is all in your mind. Hairdressers have seen it all, and they don't care. I came out to my longtime hairdresser about 4 years ago. She just laughed and told me that her son, that I have known for 25 years, is a drag queen. So much for her being shocked. Since then, I have bought 3 new wigs from her. She professionally fit them, trimmed and styled them for me. I consistently get compliments on my hair. She gives me makeup and style tips. It pays to have a professional that knows you cd.

Did she notice your breast forms?

To step it up a notch, I am not sure I could do. She works out of her home so I am not sitting in a room with half a dozen others but I would be very embarrased if someone else came in. Tolerance is not strong here and even though she didn't come unglued (in fact she acted a lot different than I would expect), I wouldn't know what I would wear the next time. Maybe I'll wait a month or so, then wear the same top again.

I likely wouldn't have noticed. And if I saw that you were wearing an androgenous top that was probably a women's garment. Whoopty do. Don't be convinced that she noticed or cared. It wasn't a skirt...

My hairdresser does a killer updo with the blonde wig I'm wearing in the avatar--if you want to see the end result take a look at the other pic on My profile page(the one where I'm reclining on a bed.)
