I work at an industrial plant in one of the construction office buildings. The majority of the people in this office work four 10hr shifts, so it's typically pretty quiet on Friday. The admin assistant has to work the morning, and usually one other construction manager besides myself.
Being an industrial plant, even in the office building I'm pretty used to everyone wearing steel toe shoes, full length pants, and shirts with a minimum 6" long sleeve (site requirements). So I was rather surprised when I saw the admin assistant wearing shorts, flip-flops and a tank top. So, I so "kind of casual, aren't you?" , and we start talking about how she never really leaves the office bldg, so they pretty much let her wear what she wants.
We got to talking about other things, and an hr later her phone rings, so I take my leave to give her privacy for the call. After she's done talking, she walks by my office, stops at my door, and almost posing says "Jealous aren't you?"
I kinda did a double-take. "pardon?" She says you wish like you could dress like this for work today don't you? She didn't know how right she was. I just smiled, and she walked on about her day.
Fun stuff, in an otherwise plain day.
