Where do you most of you go out when in femme?? I've been out a totall of 3 times in total femme, all 3 times to gay bars (which stinks cause I'm not gay) but that seems the safest place to go, or at least most accepting. I have a hard time (well I think so) passing, or at least I'm very self conscience about going out or attempting to go out during the day. I'm 6'6'' and a shoe size of 15 or so, so the shoes that I have that fit best are all striper shoes, which I'm guessing make me a good 6'9'' or so ( but I do think I have great legs lol) so anyways, I'm not sure I good go out to the mall, but where else do you all go besides shopping?? or to the bars??

Well hello there. I think you might be looked upon more so even if you were a real girl with your dimensions. With that said you might want to look up local crossdresser organizations. They usually have meetings as well as outings and that offers you other avenues besides the gay bars.
Another might be to join a bdsm club or swinger club. These people are quite accepting of anyone. I like going to a local swingers club myself.
So there you have it. With a little work you will find other places to go. Kate

To my local Tri-Ess support group meetings every month.
I have gone out at night, twice before, to get some stamps and cash at the ATM. Officially, I've gone out twice during the day to go shopping and eating lunch or dinner.

Malls, restaurants, fast food places (drive-thru and inside seating), straight bars, hotel lounges, museums, the zoo, university campus (for presentations), movie theaters, bowling alleys, subway trains, pharmacies, supermarkets, and all kinds of other shops and stores from Ulta to Home Depot.

Hi, well first it was to the grocery store and then it was off to Lane Bryant anf then Fashion Bug and them on to Avenue. So I guess if it has anything to do with studying, I am the one to go too. ....BJ

I love trying on clothes at ShopKo and Kohl's. The SA's tend to leave you alone when shopping. I've been out to Wal-Mart just to walk around. Unfortunately, I haven't really interacted with anyone while en femme. Still trying to figure out an the safest opportunity to do so.

I also enjoy walking around at night and walking through the post office when I no one is there. I love the sound of my heels on the sidewalk.

Becca, I also, am 6'6", and wear mens' size 14, or 15 wide. I bought some size 17 4" black patent pumps, at an online shoe place, with large sizes, and, found a size 15 red pumps, at a thrift store- very rare, that big! You, and I have the ADDED ISSUE, OF BEING SUPER TALL, and that makes us NOTICED BY ALL, EVERYWHERE WE GO! I, also, have only been out a small number of times, and one day, I was out, all day, going to different towns, and communities, walking, mostly. I got a lot of looks, and catcalls, from some cars. But, some people were not fooled! I have broad shoulders, I had on a too small wig, and my arms, had a "farmer tan". I wore a sleeveless short dress, with navy blue hose, and 4" heels, , and my legs looked great, but, neck up, not as nice. Even when , I am in guy mode, I have people notice me, and comment on my height! BEING DRESSED UP, IN WOMEN'S CLOTHES, AND HEELS, MAKES US EXTREMELY NOTICED, AND VULNERABLE, TO LAUGHS, JEERS, lots of unwanted attention, along with a little wanted. That is one reason, I also do not go out much, at all. It is hard enough, if you are smaller, or gg similar size, but, to be 6'9", or 6'10", in heels, will multiply all attention, and make it extremely hard, to blend in. It aint easy, but, being extremely tall, makes it tougher, as far as not being able to blend in.

I'm still somewhat reserved in venturing out in public but I do go out occasionally but not nearly as often as I wish. I enjoy running simple errands to the post office or ATM machine. I enjoy taking walks in the park, forest preserves or country. Some actually places I have found fun and non-threatening are bookstores, libraries and cafes. Still a bit intimidated by the large mall but that is one place I would love to go. I enjoy doing more everyday things as a girl and, so, I guess that is why I don't like the club scene.

Get to know the girls at a local thrift store. Not everyone likes this, but it suits me just fine. They are always nice to me. Although...LOL... last week as I entered in drab, the cashier called out loudly, "Hi Jennifer!"

Goodwill is fine, but they have more turnover. You see a lot of new clerks. Stores are more busy, also.

I have been to the local movie theatre and all the local bars, I have been to a dragshow in Grand Junction as well as a Gay bar in Grand Junction, next time we are planning on a shopping trip and a possible make over in Debver for PRIDE weekend in June.

There is no place except redneck handouts that I do not go enfemme. If you dress and act appropriately with your head held high you can go anyplace.

Saturday night a group of 21 in Houston went to see the play "I am My Own Wife". The group included 15 CD's and 5 wives. The theatre knew our group would be there and provided a bathroom with our name (Tau Chi) on the door. That did not stop many of the other women patrons who did not seem at all distrubed in sharing a bathroom. Other than several women who did talk at intermission and wanted to know more about transgendered persons, most of the other patrons did not give us a second glance.

In the lobby of the theatre were 9 full length photos of Houston areas TG persons with a bio next to the photo. For the night I wore the same dress as in my photo in the lobby. As I stood next to my photo several women were shocked that they were seeing the same person in the photo in person. That was great fun. The photograspher gave me the original print for my home. After the play the group met at a deli for more fun and food.

The Tri-Ess chapter in Houston frequently sponsors what we call "Elegant Ladies Night Out" to upscale Houston theatres and restaurants as we did this night. Other Tri-Ess chapters do the same in other cities.

I will put up some photos of the night in the photo section.

Hugs,

Melanie

Walks in public places but I try to avoid really parky types of places with lots of young kids. Shopping malls, out to eat at both restaurants and fast food, thrift stores, antique stores, grocery stores, and other types of stores. Gas stations and C-stores. I have been to a few clubs/gay bars but not my preference just because I am not gay. And I did not go out to clubs until I had been out other places. But it is interesting to watch some lesbians. Interestingly I have never just been out for a drive. I just enjoy being out doing more everyday types of things.

Basically I was out of town and jumped in with both feet and a skirt.
