While posting in another thread, I was reminded of two summers ago. I had bought a skirt for my wife, and she was showing it to her grandmother. She seemed a little surprised that I had picked it out for her myself, she said it was so pretty. I remarked that I picked that one because I would look so good in it that if she didn't wear it I would. My mother-in-law started laughing and said that I say the craziest things. "E"s grandmother said "Go put it on I would like to see you in it." I was gonna just laugh it off but she was serious and my wife said go ahead. Well I did and she said I don't know why more men won't wear skirts it would put us all (men & women) on an equal playing field, You look good son. I tell you it just blew my mind, then my wife says "That's one of the reasons why I married him, he looks so cute in a dress." My mother-in-law didn't know what to think, but we played it off as a joke. When they left grandma told my wife she was lucky to marry a man who was not afraid of wearing a dress, and she told me that she had some skirts from the 40's that might fit me. Haven't seen them yet, have been too afraid to ask in case it was all just joking around.

Ok Dixie, why is it that the younger and much older one gets, the more tolerant they seem to be? A great Grand Mother. Need to follow-up on those skirts. Maybe a hidden treasure! Good luck and a great experience for both of you.

We will when the kids are not with us, she just might want to see me try them on.

I know how she feels. Since I became a grandmother, I am a lot more tolerant of the things my kids do. Maybe because I am not responsible for their actions any more.

Holy cow! I would go for it, take her up on her offer of wearing those 1940's skirts. Sounds like a dream come true

For me it is I like vintage Fashion, but am a little nervous about being out in a nonhumorous situation, with family like that you know.

I think that's so sweet that you can talk so openly about it, even in jest! Sounds like your grandmother would be cool with the concept! Let us know if you get those clothes!
