A student in the Fort Worth School District has won her case. She threaten to sue the School District and the School District backed down and is changing their policy and will allow her to resume classes as a female.

I taught High School physics in Texas last year. During semester exams one of the boys came into class - i think he wore jeans - and when I looked up he was in a denum mini skirt. The skirt was cute. There was some laughing but no one made fun of him. I did not say anything but just gave the test and left him alone. Wish I could have been wearing my skirt too!

I heard someone in the class say that he wore skirts at home.

I have seen a lot of girls come to class dressed more like a boy than a girl so I see no reason to say anything to a boy in girls' clothes.

"...and a little child shall lead them..." not trying to be sacreligious just thought the quote fit. I find her courage admirable. Wish I had those kind of guts when I was younger, Viva le revolution!! Maybe a quote from Twisted Sister is a little more approprate " We're not gonna take it, no we ain't gonna take it, we're not gonna take it anymore!!" :D

if you're gonna quote Twisted Sister i think "i am, i'm me" fits best... it's always great to hear news about advancement, hope she inspires other students to come out and be themselves...

Follow up story from Channel 11 said that the words that got the student suspensed for was "BULLSHIT". The student said this to another student and the Principal over hear, called the student into the office, and told the student he was suspended. IMHO the word "BULLSHIT" is no way close to being a bad word and no way grounds for suspension.

The word "BullShit" was probably so offensive because it was soooo true! That's the "foul language" that was used to suspend her???? She is right that is BullShit!!!! Ok, Ok I'll get of the soapbox now and give someone else a crack at it. :heehee:
