I'm relatively new to this forum but have been dressing since I was 12 or 13 and fascinated with women and their pretty things for as long as I can remember. So...today I found a very casual but cute and classy (at least to me) outfit at Goodwill. A pair of white capri's-the ones about calf length with the little slit in the outer seam, a very sexy nylon form fitting top (purple) from Merona, a pair of purple sling back flats--bought new black panties and new 38B bra at Marshalls total for the outfit---less than $20.00. I don't do makeup yet, but sooo badly wanted to go out in 'public' (other than just driving around) so I went to an ABS I'd scouted earlier in the day. The goings-on there are to riske for this forum but I did have fun en femme, although not passable no one laughed, or pointed or made any fuss whatsoever!

Thanks for listening,

Kam

Kamala,

Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad you had such an enjoyable outing and a new outfit for $20 - Great shopping girl. Now, I dislike showing my ignorance, but, what exactly is an ABS? I'm guessing it's "Adult Book Store." Am I right?

I know, I know, I'm just a naive country girl from the part of Oklahoma known as "Little Dixie." But I learn so much from this forum.

Anyway, Kamala, I know you'll enjoy this site.

It's so funny...I 'hate' to shop for my drab stuff. But shopping for femme?? I could spend all day doing that!!

It was a very good day,

I can't hardly drive past thrift shop. I shop at about 10 thrift shops locally. Goodwill is fine and I have a favorite where the head cashier is so cute--and she calls me Jennifer! Whether I am dressed femme or drab.
But I also have a favorite non-Goodwill store where the girls treat me nice. Nice girls intelligent and understanding, --not much turnover. Last tme I went there in drab, as I entered, the cashier (Doty) called out, "Hi Jennifer!". I was embarrassed, but nobody said anything. And besides i enjoy a little humiliation.

Bought the wig you see in my avatar.

When in "boy" mode, I hate shopping. I have no patience and would rather be doing 20 other different things but when en femme, I can hardly get myself to leave. Loving trying on clothes since it gives me a chance to experiment with some looks and try on some outfits that I normally cannot afford.

Love Kohl's and even ShopKo. Bought a cute dress at Marshall's when I was in SF for a business trip. Had to ditch it before coming home

Currently working on building up my wardrobe.

Well, girls, looks like we all love to shop, at least en femme! The thrift store scene is soooo comfortable for me too, as several of you pointed out. But I've never seen a wig in a thrift store. Would love to find one. I'm also seeing a trend that thrift stores are not selling lingerie, at least not bra's and panties. Do you girls seem to be seeing the same trend? Things are so much cheaper at the TS's, but on the upside, buying lingerie at a second store give me another chance to shop!!

Jennifer: A little humiliation.....I think that is so interesting an observation. Once, in a thrift store in Tucson, when buying a bra and panty set at Savers the two (rather large) female clerks opined the set must be for me...one said "...just look at him blush.." Yes a little humiliating; yes a turn on...

And Paula....mmmmm I would LOVE to run into you at an ABS....

MsJanessa,
Any tips you could offer would be most appreciated. My complexion is smooth but with what some might call a 'ruddy' look. Basically, my face is kinda red most of the time....Caucasion, 50 yrs old...

Angie,
The deals are cool, getting cute things cheap is indeed a cheap thrill!

[Erica's just hoping you were not wearing the black panties under the white capris. But that's because she's a prude at heart.]

MsJanessa,
any help you could offer would be appreciated. I'm 50 with a smooth but what some might call a 'ruddy' complexion...basically, my face is a little red pretty much all the time.

Angie,

Getting good deals on cute outfits is my way of defining the term 'cheap thrill'!

EricaCD,
Yes, its soooo campy to wear the black panties under the white capris....but its the show off factor that makes what I do so much more fun!!
