I was watching the Tyra Banks show today it was on Transgender couples. Anyhow, there was a FTM and I got to thinking... when you are taking hormones do you stop having your period?+? +? (I’m don't mean to offend anyone, I didn't know the answer so I thought that I would ask)

It's a perfectly legitimate question, Tweety, why would you think it would be offensive? As Kieron said, it does stop. Since I didn't see Tyra's show today (although I heard about it), please tell us how the question is related to what happened on the show. Just curious.

Well, there were 2 MTF pre op girls, one was in a great relationship and the other looking for a man. and the last guest she had on was a FTM. Josh is his name, said that he tried the lesbian seen and it wasn't working for him, He and his girlfriend are getting married, he as well as the MTF hadn't under gone surgery just had his chest done. Anyhow, he said his only complaint was he was short and his girlfriend loves to wear heels. :heehee: So I didn't know if he still had a monthly visit or not... since he still had all his female parts, or if the Testosterone stopped them. It was a pretty good show. I think that Tyra did a good job showing the there is nothing wrong with Transgender couples

Thanks for the rundown - I hope to catch a rerun. Tyra has had other shows dealing with this subject and she's usually done a decent jobs in the ones I've seen. I'm glad it's out there for people to see and think about. I'm sure you're not the only one that has come up with a few questions from watching it. Feel free to ask anytime.

I'd have to put the lack of a period in the plus column when tallying up the pros and cons of testosterone. ;)
