Oh yes if crossdressing became the nrom I sure would dress in what is female clothing all of the time. But it has finally come to me that what I am dispising is this whole concept that there is what is to be labled female and male clothing at all. It should be that clothing should not matter and that there is girls clothing and boys clothing just really does not make any sense it should all be up front and equal. women now know this and have now for quite some time that is why they are allowed now to wear whatever they please. But us males still continue to pold along stuck still in our rut of what is callled male clothing and no altering or going outside any kind of norm yuck why is this our continued fate. No options of any real stlye or fashion. And besides what is still just considered female clothing dresses skirts would be oh so much better for men males i mean look really look at it and then think would you rather still to be stuck with male wear only or something really comfortable. I mean that's where i am now i would put all this male clothing away like i have my female clothing put away right now and would get out the dresses nasd skirts and wear them all of the time if only. Oh well. Yet one of theses days it's going to happen and then watch out males finally liberated. Come on! Thank's Suzy The Doctor Eleventh

I would dress all the time, for work and play.
Ohh please please make it the norm.
I'm so fed up with hiding my true self.
The thing that gets me is GG's can wear our clothes but we can't wear theirs. Not fair is it? Anyway I don't think there's anything in law that says we can't wear femme clothes in public or private? As far as I'm aware, it's just the reaction some GG's have to us. Grrrrrrrrr.
There needs to be an attitude change I think.

If cross-dressing were accepted it would be a dream come true for most of us. As for me, I would most likely dress fem when I felt like it and in drab other times. I do not want to become a woman, just be able to dress like one. :D
I think they call that wanting the best of both worlds. :D

:) Ladie, I feel the same wa Sandra feels. To have the option of dressing in a manor that at the time feels right. Either feminine or masculin (hope I spelled that right). :) For the next 6 days I have that option here at home. Even though I could never pass. I could not be going out in public. But here in my home I don't have to worry about passing. I can be as pretty as I feel while dressed fem. or be as I normally am when I dress drab.

I actually tend to disagree.. if from day one it was ok for men to do this and there were a lot of men around doing it and it was a social norm then I wouldn't have been interersted in breaking that social norm, and it would not have been exciting for me. If starting today it was ok to do so, then yes I would.

I would dress en-femme all the time, girls clothes are more comfortable, more decorative, more sexy, etc etc. Also the variety on offer is so much greater than the male stuff, and female attire feels so good against the skin.
It wouldn't bother me that more men would be doing it than now, but Jill does make a good point about the excitement element. Actually I've always thought that skirts were more suited (no pun) to the male anatomy anyway, trousers seem such an odd design in the undercarriage department.
ToniB
02-26-2005, 07:24 PM
I think I agree with Jill. If it became the norm, I wouldn't feel the excitement of breaking the taboo. I know I haven't screwed up the courage (or got acceptance from my SO!) to go out dressed in public, but the patio walk at night still gets my heart racing. If it was "normal, I wouldn't feel like that.

I've got another point of view on this. If CDing were acceptable, then there would be no "female" clothes or "male" clothes. All would be just "clothes". It reminds me of the Chinese state-mandated uniforms. A blurring of the sexes would erase the concept of gender. Everyone would be the same, there would be no difference. However, we all know and recognize that there ARE differences between us, both psychological AND physical. I think we need the physical "markers" of gender that we wear in order to better interact with each other. If we can't readily recognize one's gender by how they are dressed, we are more apt to mistakenly do things that are not appropriate for the moment, like burping out loud, or openly flatulating, or other unladylike things. In my work environment, (cabinet shop), there are no GG's, so you can imagine what it can be like on an average day. What I'm trying to say is that women are treated more courteously, more respectfully, and with less slaphappiness than men. If we all dressed the same, then eventually the differences that define gender would disappear. I imagine that the traditional respect afforded to women would also evaporate. That would be a sad day in my book.
Love,
SilkenPrincess
P.S. Viva la difference!

Is that to much to ask?

Good question! For a few CD is merely rebellion---to be a non-conformist. For them the thrill would be gone. For me, after 70 plus years feeling alone to fight with my demons, not knowing if there were others like me---the thrill increases as one demands greater feminization---more clothes, make-up, etc.
Then after the internet told me of the many CDs out there, it erased the guilt from my actions. Still married after 48 years my wife doesn't care to be a part of my fantasy; and yet, it wouldn't matter how many others are CDs---it doesn't make my dressing up any less enjoyable. Hope this answer helps a bit.

Honey, I am what I am and it took way too long for me to come to terms with that. I would have to say that anyone who crossdresses solely to defy convention is probably not TG and has other issues to work out.
If CDing were acceptable, then there would be no "female" clothes or "male" clothes. All would be just "clothes".
Well said!

I don’t think there’s much danger of that, dear! There would still be plenty of non-TG men and women to maintain a difference.
Vive la difference!
YES! YES! YES!
I'd be en femme all of the time. I'd never want to go back.
I’m a little conflicted about that. I still feel that Rachel and Rick need each other, and that I wouldn’t be a whole person without both of them. But, switching between the two of them would no longer be as difficult, or as necessary.

SilkenPrincess you make some really interesting points, some that I hadn't really considered before posting. I'm having to think now about my previous post, maybe some of the excitement and pleasure would be lost; but I've always considered that I dress just for my own pleasure, and have never tried to 'pass' in the world beyond my home. mmm?

Hi Julie,
Noticed it was your first post. Welcome to the forum, hope you have fun here.
48 years married, and 70+ years "feeling alone". Wow, you are certainly the oldest member I've heard from. There's hope for me yet! Well there's no feeling alone here! Well wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to dress as we feel every day? Like I am sure I would just present myself as a woman, and keep some boy clothes hidden in a deep corner of my closet so I could dress up in them occasionally and get the magic feeling of naughtyness that comes with crossdressing. :p

If CDing was generally accepted, I think that a certain edge would be taken away from the pleasure. But that's okay. It would be compensated for a thousand times over by the fact that I could dress all the time. No more wearing this androgonous stuff at work, where I spend so many of my waking hours. Oh, to be able to wear a nicely-tailored skirt to work! I'd look so much more "professional" than I do now.

If it became the norm for guys to dress either way I don't think it change much really? You still be a guy dressed as a woman,& sisters they still look down on you no matter what. It's be some old thing why do you you want to be a girl, why are you a sissy,& on and on!Just what is norm I ask you? Even now if a woman puts on a man's suit,& looks like a man in every way,& goes out in the public she is called a lesbian,or butch,or plain weird! The line in wemon cross dressing is blurred,& still There is NO NORM here either? Nor will there ever be.It's something that would be nice, but would you really think that you be accepted as normal dressed en-fem in this new world ladies think again!
Sincerely

This is a great question - because the majority of the reason we dress, (besides all the subconcious stuff we can't explain,) is because it's a social taboo.
If it was acceptable - we wouldn't have communities like this either, in which everyone is so nice and caring :)
I, like many, would dress all the time - I'm bursting to get out in the street and get some good fashion - rather than pay £2 for a skirt off the market. :( A girl's got to have some class!

if it was ok for men to wear womens clothes i would be out of control with wearing my little skirts and sexy heels 24/7 along with my already wearing pantyhose 24/7.. it isnt fair that women can wear anything they want with NO problems and the other half have to be stuck with crapy clothes..ANY FEMALE who is wearing pants is crossdressed in my book.

03-28-2005, 06:38 AM
I would. A big part of what attracts me to female clothing right now is the colour, the details and the variety. I doubt that would change if CD'ing was accepting, so I guess I'd carry on regardless.
I'd just be more free than I am now.

I would welcome a new era when it would be acceptable to wear female clothes all the time. I am able to do so for very long periods because like so many others I feel able to express my true self. However Silken Princess does raise many important aspects. I wonder in the long term what the efect would me on society;there will no doubt still be asubstantial proportion of males who will continue to dress in their own gender but thre would I think be a considerable growth in female influence and domination as time went on. There is much to be seriously considered here. Will for example there emerge a form of third sex different from the present day categories? This is a fascinating topic which I fancy will run and run.

It's a great concept. I wish it were so, but even if it was, I wouldnt dress all the time. Janet is my relaxation, she shares none of the stress of my day to day life. I suppose on reflection, she is my interpretion of the female persona.
If dressing was that acceptable, would there be any need for her? I could just go to work in a dress, nice thought maybe, but it just wouldnt be her.

It wouldn't make any difference in my case as I go out as often as I wish and when ever I have the need. It is a presentation of who I am and my desires.
It would very likely make a big difference if you had to worry about the silly rednecks were you live. Here in Ottawa, Transgender is so accepted, I guess I have really become rather complacent with the entire issue.

YOU BET I WOULD DRESS!
I would have pierced ears and all. I dress becasue it is who i am. and I would dress to match my feelings and activities for the day. Business skirts to the office, sexxy outfits for the evenings or weekends. 24/7.
Although, I don't think I would be working on the car or painting the house in a skirt. so I would keep some old drabs for that.
one can only hope and dream.

I do not belive that crossdressing is a chocie for me. I know it is not something I could just give up because the world is ok with it or for any other reason. Crossdressing is a part of me. Yes there is a thrill but no I could not, would not, and do not want to stop. If I did I would not be me. Good or the bad.

03-28-2005, 05:18 PM
Of course I would. That's what I wish would happen. Sure, some of the thrill of is almost, or actually getting caught, but that's not all of it. I would dress all the time if the world were that way. For me, what I like about being a crossdresser, is the fact that I'm a crossdresser. That may not make much sense, but I wear women's clothes because it feels good on my body, and some of society would view me as "weird", or CDing not being right. But if I was an actual woman, then I would be doing what I was supposed to do, wear women's clothes, and it would be viewed as "normal". That's why I don't want an operation to be a woman. I do wish i had some power to change into a man or woman whenever I want, but it's just one or the other.
katrinafltg
03-28-2005, 06:29 PM
There is always a thrill when you engage in taboo behaviour but for myself its gone beyond that. I would simply like to live my life in my feminine mode. Would I every be a boy again? Hard to say. To me it seems I will be happier if I am who I am as opposed to being an actor all the time. Which is where I find myself these days. I don't hate being a male genetically. Of course I wish I had smaller hands and feet and bigger ass as well as some nice boobs but I don't hate the body I was born with.
I don't so much want to be accepted as a woman per se but as a person of a third gender. The fact of the matter is not I'm a "real" woman. I don't have a uterus and that is not something easily overlooked. However that doesn't mean my only other choice is to be society's definiton of a man.
In the end we are going to have to come out. This is easier said than done. i have yet to dress in public but this is my next step. I'll start in the tg clubs like anyone else to get my confidence. After that I know I'll have to deal with the public at large. Which is the only way to be free.
Right now I'm terrified to buy women's clothes at a regular store. I feel nothing but fear and shame. And I hate this. And I'm doing it to myself. Most people could care less what I'm buying. And if they snicker and laugh I should still be able to handle myself with dignity.
And that's what I want most of all. to simply be out there as myself and not to feel scared or ashamed. That to me is what its really all about.
God willing I'll be there soon.
love
Katrina
