I have been really wanting to dress for the past several weeks with no opportunities in my closeted life. Then this evening everyone was gone, and I knew no one would be home for about 2 1/2 hours - perfect chance, right?
Well, I didn't even think of it until the house had been empty for nearly 2 hours. Very odd. All those desires, then when it's clear, nothing.
Has this ever happened to you?

Yes it has happened to me. I'll be just me and my wife at home (because her son has gone over to his buddy's house or whatever) and then it'll suddenly pop into my head "hey, I could have been dressed for over an hour now if I'd have thought about it!"

I can dress at home with my SO here whenever I want... and I can do 'simple' things like dress-and-drives. But if I want to spend an entire day out and about, it takes some hard work and preparation!
So there have been times when I've really looked forward to a chance to 'go all the way', sometimes I start looking forward to it a week or two ahead of time when I know when I can get a day off.
After all of this anticipation and preparation, the day comes and I just don't have the energy or desire to go through all the effort. Sometimes I'll just sleep in and forget it. Others, I'll put in a bit of effort, but more out of habit than anything else.
My desire to dress comes and goes in cycles, and sometimes that cycles just don't line up with the opportunities. I've gotten used to that and won't 'push' things if I really don't have the desire.
Having the opportunity but no desire, I can handle.
Having the desire but not OPPORTUNITY can drive me crazy. :(

Lucky me. My wife was away on vacation for three weeks. The only problem I had is that my wife's daughter and family live right next door, and stepping out of my house is like walking through the warden's office. So I would have to wait until late at night to get "en femme" . I did manage to get dressed and even took a few pictures. They are not the greatest and it had been over 15 years since I dressed but it was still enjoyable. I went on some shopping sprees. Some of the things I kept like all the sexy lingerie, the wig, the boots, and the makeup. i returned a lot of it because I had only tried it on at home anyway. I did manage to get up early one morning because I wanted to take some daylight pictures. I don't think that two hours gives you a lot of time to do much. I have learned to get my makeup on in about 30 minutes, but then you have the problem of taking it all off. In any event, it was all worth it. I say go for it whenever you can.:hugs:

Sure. I will know that a chance is coming up and when it gets there I get distracted by something else and then it is too late or too risky. That's life in the dark zone (closet).

Heck, it takes me close to 30 minutes just to get shaved properly -- and I do not have a lot of facial hair. But I am getting a lot faster about putting my foundation and powder on.
